it really sounds like you have a loose/burnt/broken connection somewhere. do you have a meter to check continuity ? |

I think i would make good and sure it isn't something stupid like a faulty connection. shave your battery terminals and connectors. trace the lines back make sure there are no burns or splits in the sheath , corrosion, bent or broken wires. Then I would take my alternator in to a parts store and have them throw it on a tester. Make sure your belt isn't slipping on the alternator at all. If none of that helps , start the hunt for an ecu... preferably a buddy that will let you just use one for a few minutes to see if it fixes it? Also, if you can get the car to be in "no start mode" pop the plug wire off your coil and make sure its sparking with a test light, and then again off the spark plug posts on the distributor. coil may be going bad? |

Yeah it would be a good idea to put a new one in the car and a spare in the glove box. I'm fairly certain thats your problem. Rockauto.com has the relays for 15 bucks a pop. |

just match up the numbers on the top of the relay. i believe there are 3 relays that are the same as the efi relay. pretty sure the AC is one of them. its located in the smaller fuse block under the hood to the left of the radiator if your looking into the engine bay standing in front of the car. |

efi relay in the fuse block under the hood. try that one out first. Also coolant temp sensor is like $20ish. So not to0 spendy to try out and see if it resolves the issue. Also when you bought your new fuel pump was it oem or aftermarket? and if aftermarket did it come with an adapter wire? one that goes from the new fuel pump to the harness that the old pump used to be connected directly to? |

Make sure your getting fuel to the motor when its not wanting to start. I had a relay go bad and it only worked when it wanted to. Replaced filter and pump before I figured it out. There should be another relay in the ac slot or something aux you can use to try it. If that doesn't help I believe the coolant temperature sensor can cause this issue. |

I live in a small town in Wyoming. As a 6th gen lover I have been keeping my eye out for all the 6th gens in town. After about a year of scanning my town like a hawk I believe there are 3. Mine, a blue 95 stx, and a tan st. Just so happens I watched the kid that owned the 95 stx slide it into the back of a 1 ton ford =/ . We have had a lot of snow lately and it was a fairly low speed collision. Anyway, I went over and made sure the kid was ok then scolded him for wrecking the celica lol. Long story short, it was his dads ford he slid into, and I gave him 200 bucks for the car. So now I own 2 of the 3 in town. I myself need the Fuel sending unit that my local toyota dealer wants 249.99 for. And an efi relay they want 47 for. So i bought my two parts at a good discount. The front bumper , all 4 headlights, and the raidiator are hammered. As well as the dash and steering wheel from the airbags coming out. But the rest of the car isnt in bad shape. Its a 95 stx , 130k miles on 7afe motor, auto (gag), and its a coupe.... Anyone need anything? |

lol, yeah if you want a real answer your gonna have to ask a real question. Give some specifics. What does "rev free" mean? does it mean it runs great while just idling in neutral? Jumpy? All the time while accelerating or just if you mash the gas pedal to the floor? |

It took me a good 8 hours, but it was my first FWD clutch job as well I managed to tear my new passenger side output shaft seal, which resulted in an extra trip to town. Find yah a big socket that fits snug over the lip on the seal, then use a 2x4 and a hammer with some caress to get them in right. Yep, jacked it up as high as I could get it. Flywheel bolts, and the shaft seals in the tranny. |

If you have had grounding issues with the stereo before, I would say start there. Disconnect the extra battery and take the fuses out for any of the aftermarket audio components and see if it improves. My guess is one of the wires is getting so hot its melting the plastic and grounding out. |

when you say "nothing" do you mean absolutely nothing? you turn the key and nothing at all? or does the engine crank but not fire? or is there a clicking sound? do the dash lights and door dinger go out? Sounds like a battery to me, with the info provided. Take the cables off and clean them and the battery posts with some baking soda and water and a brush. Once your positive the cables have connection to the battery either jump it or put a battery charger on it at 2v until its charged. That's the first step |

^^^ very good point. they are delicate. slightest nick or tear will make them leak. i grabbed a socket, a big one mind you, that the outside lip of the seal fit nicley into. then a 2x4 on the socket and some love taps in. |
