The dragon is a strech US129 as it runs from the Tn to the NC side over the mountains. It has 318 curves in 11 miles. It is the windest strech of road in the US. I draws people from all over to make the trip to ride/drive it. Once you have been bitten by the dragon you will understand what it is all about. It is worth the trip to make it out there. I go at least every other month or I did till I move where its 1200 miles for me to go. But do make it out there if you live within a good distance of it.

Well after I totaled out the first celica I was looking for another one. Couldn't find one. Started looking for a S14. Couldn't find one either. Then found another celica. After a year later I ended up parking the car for a S2000. Never regeted a thing with the celica but am looking forward to summer so that I can enjoy the top down option. But the other cars that I would get would be an IS300.

Nice evo in the back ground. I love the silver s2k.
Why did you take out your passenger, weight purposes?

Some of it was weight reasons. Other was I like to run by myself.

QUOTE(Consynx @ Dec 6, 2004 - 2:52 PM)

he's competing
that guy was prob w/ him for first run...a guide

Actually the passenger is my brother. I let him ride with me on my first 3 runs. But like I said I wanted to run by myself and the weight reason. Also I didn't really need a guide, I walked the course 4 time and one of those was the required novie walk through.

QUOTE(macavely @ Dec 6, 2004 - 3:20 AM)
every nice.. but how does the S200o take turns  compared to the celi???

To answer your ? i duno. I never autocrossed the celica. But I would have to say that it takes them a lot better. Considering that in the class that Im running in I run with some porche's some BMW's and the 350Z. I know that I can beat the Z next year but from what I understand SCCA is moving the S2000's into A stock. Which means Im running with some vette's and what not.

Well I took the ride out to the last event of the season. I placed 3rd out of 4 cars today. But considering that this was my second time to run and I was only .9 sec outof 2nd and 1.2 or so behind the 1st place guy. The leader was running a 42 sec with some change. The cars that I was running against today were a 350Z (finished 2nd), a 75 911, and a 01 boxter. Over all I was very happy with the standings today and how well I did. Im looking forward to the start of next season and seeing how well I improve. Here are some pics from today.

QUOTE(playr158 @ Nov 18, 2004 - 1:35 AM)
well before the dragon don't forget......

swaybars, strut braces, springs/coilovers, konis, and good torque

not like the s2 doesn't have torque lol

90 mph in 2nd gear i can't even get that fast in 3rd frown.gif

Well buddy, the S really doesn't need all that. Honda put a really tight suspension on the car right out of the factory. Yes they would be nice to have but unless you really want to send me the cash for all of that then go right ahead. This car is much more tighter than my celica is with the koni's and strut bars. Also unfortunatly it can only do 63 in 2nd gear and 90 in 3rd. Which is very nice to be able to do 90 in 3rd.
QUOTE(gh0st_d0g @ Nov 18, 2004 - 8:55 AM)

I think he literally means he almost died when he was in that s2k.

and Bryan beautiful beautiful car. but put some rims on that bad boy asap wink.gif

Thanks man. I would love to put some rims on the S but all the ones that I want are about 350-500 a rim. Plus I have to have a stagered widths and offsets, and the rims that Im looking at are either BBS, OZ, or Volks.

QUOTE(coustoe @ Nov 18, 2004 - 8:58 AM)
how much do s2000 cost these days? are they collector cars like supras?

I know that a new S out of a dealer is runing around 32k or more. But used you can get some preaty good deals out there some times. I know that they only make a little over 5k cars a year that come over here so I guess you could say that they are a collecters car, but in reality its just a rare car that alot of older guys own as a weekend play toy.

Coomer, as of right now not much of anything. Im just gona enjoy it stock for a while. I want to learn how to really drive the car before I start to mess with it.

Well, guys the time has come to move on. As of today I am a proud owner of a 2001 Silverstone Metallic with red interior S2000. As of right now I still own the celica. But who knows whats going to happen to it in the next 6 months. I will probably still drive it for the time being becuase its winter now and I can't really use the drop top all that often now. I have enjoyed being a part of this community. I have meet some really cool people and enjoyed the meets. Coomer props go out to you for creating this great board. If it wasn't for you who knows what I would of done with the car. If I do decide to sell her I will let you all know and what is for sale.

Give me a couple of weeks and I will tell you how the sporline's are with a body kit. I have them now and haven't had a problem. The thing with lowering a car with a kit is that you are going to have to be more carefull when parking, entering parking lots and what not.

John, Ive been around just mainly lurking the boards. I put my .02 in when needed. I mainly stick to the boro with work and what not. But I have been driving the racer around alot so you might have seen me in it.

Here are some measurements I got of my car - the image is a bit big (mods might wanna put up a 56k warning) but I did it in photoshop and didn't wanna lose clarity by downsizing it too much smile.gif

Neophile, that was what I was looking for thanks man.

Ok, you euro guys, I need the measurements for the side markers. Ive got a set that Im putting on my car and I need to know the dimensions so that I can get them in the right spot. I need the height from the ground to the bottom of them, the distance to the side of them and any thing else that you all can think of that would help.

Well I can tell you from a Hatch owners view. I have both front and rear strut bars. the rear bar really helped with stiffening up the rear of the car. As with the front its is very nice since I got the j-speed one. I really have noticed how much they help in stiffening up the car in the turns.

QUOTE (djspike @ Aug 8, 2004 - 8:26 PM)
Why is Three point Better then Two?

The reason that a three point is better than a two point is because it gives it one more bracing point on the caisis. So it makes the car that much more ridged under cornering.

I got the J-Speed front and the Cusco oval rear in today. Put them on and boy do they make a difference. Plus they are a nice addition to the engine bay and the trunk. Here are the pics of the bars.

OK here are my thoughts on this. I say that we have it as a end of summer meet. either we have it around the end of aug. But depending on the interest of people we can figure something out. Its gona need some person who lives near the area to think of something that we could do. But thats just my ideas. If there were some great roads to go drive or what not thats even better.

I really love the TRD shift knob that came with my short shift kit. Before that I had the MOMO race air knob and I loved it, to bad I got it in yellow insted of black. But we will see if I get another knob, but the TRD knob fells great in my hand.

Ok Im gona put my .02 in. For you all that haven't tried to plan a meet its hard for one, two its even harder when you are working two jobs. I was basicaly the guy who planned most of it. I had a lot of help from Eric ( which I really appreciate and couldn't of done some things without him). It is really hard to get a meet going some times. We had posted info about this meet on about 5 different celica web sites. As you can tell we only had people from 6gc. c.net and alltrac.net show. Im gona try it again next summer before I have to move to Tyndall AFB in Panama City for my job. Hopefully we can get something planned for next year a little better. But its hard to remember to post info on every single site when something changes. I try to do my best when something changes. Maybe next year I will ask for reps from each site who will be there and can make sure that the correct info gets posted up at the respected site. But as for any confusion Im sorry.
