Damn...
Anyhow I decided to either keep the Celica as is or try finding a GT4 since it offers 4 seats and luggage room and it is fast and worth spending money on (when the MR2 does not tongue.gif)

Unfortunately I can't do that since I need the money for university.
So it's either one and the money to be spent on them are extra.
I guess if I sell the MR2 (they offered me 7.500 for it) I can save the 2,000 for the Celica but is it worth it? :\

Hello,
I own a Celica '95 automatic with the 3S-FE engine (it's a JDM car).
Now the car needs a paintjob and it was estimated 2,000 pounds (!!).
I got the Celi for 3,800 pounds and bought 17" rims for it (any ideas if they'll fit the MR2 , I'll get a pair of different tires for the rear tho).

I also own an MR2 '92 manual with the 3S-GE engine dyno'ed @ 200hp.
I have to sell one of these cars so what would you do?
I really love the MR2 but it's 13 years old and needs serious repairing (in terms of paintjob, has a scratched and faded dashboard, broken A/C vents and it seems that it has some problems with the engine lately, it seems to be "lagging" I didn't have time to look into it thoroughly tho).

What would you do ? :\
I know it's wiser to spend money on the MR2 since it's a better car than the Celica automatic but still...It needs a butt load of repair frown.gif

Hey all remember me ? tongue.gif
I've arranged the purchase and fitting of a 404 bodykit and it's gonna cost me around 320 pounds which is around 600$ i think. Is that a good price? What do you think ?

I'll post pics of my current setup with 17" rims - I'm taking pics first thing in the morning biggrin.gif

So far I spent 400 pounds for 17x7 alloys and Firestone 215/45/17 tires aaannd I another 320 for the bodykit. I guess with 1,000pounds I'll have something good! biggrin.gif

Next step, ultra whites, aluminum floormats and replacing LEDs for dash biggrin.gif

I know you're talking about the BEAMS VVT-i engine for the MR2 but it's not the one I have, I checked. It actually suprised everyone when it dyno'ed ~200hp every time. I was told I have the fastest non-turbo MR2 around here  - Too bad I had to sell it frown.gif

The Celica is quite fast for an auto but I don't really care about it's performance. I just wanna make it kinda beefier no matter what it is smile.gif

I like to make it look good than drive fast. If I wanted something fast, I'd go with a GT4 biggrin.gif

Edit: I already have some "points" in my licence book and I'm on the edge. Can't risk a fast car biggrin.gif hehehe

Nothing tongue.gif
It has a 3S-GE from a '98 MR2 and it dyno'ed 198hp tongue.gif
It's a JDM MR2 btw... I was planning to do some mods in it but I'm going away to university and can't keep it so I decided to have something with 4 seats and that doesn't need so much gas tongue.gif

Great car btw, I would buy one anyday - I'm planning to import a '98 turbo model from Japan the next year or a Supra TT tongue.gif

Hello all,
just bought a silver '95 Celica JDM (but it's auto unfortunately).

It had lame OZ Racing WRC rims but I replaced them with 9-spoke BSA 17x7 alloys and used 215/45 Firestones on them.
Now the car has some minor dents/scratches to be repaired next week but I was wondering if you could tip me off about things I should do to improve its looks and make it drive a bit sportier. Nothing fancy tho.

I already trimmed some interior vinly parts in black with a special spray (the box between seats and cup holder tray) because they were worn.

I'm planning for a Pioneer DEH-7600MP, good speakers and console painted silver like the car etc.

Exterior and interior styling I know what to do but I'm clueless about performance and
engine bay styling. Any tips?
How do you make the engine bay look clean and neat ? And what can I add to my engine to make it dish out a bit more horsepower ? I have a 3S-FE engine i think (even if there's a metal label on it saying 3S-GE/3S-FE I'm 60% sure it's a 3S-FE cause I have a manual MR2 with a 200hp 3S-GE and it doesn't have the same redline tongue.gif)

BTW it already has an exhaust system and muffler fitted (sounds deeper but not a stupid noise-maker)

And this is my first true post so hey all biggrin.gif

Hello, I got a silver auto Celica '95 (hatchback)
I have the same buttons you mention - These also exist in my RAV4 smile.gif

So,
the overdrive you all know what it does it's thoroughly explained in another topic. Now about manual and power.

For manual: Switch it on when you're parked and shift to L. By having MANU enabled L, 2 and D act like 1,2 and 3rd gear. So you launch the car with L and push the stick to 2 when you want and again to D. It will NOT shift unless you push the stick smile.gif

For power: It just makes the car gruntier and all. More responsive throttle control and all that. For the sportiest possible behavior switch on ECTS-PWR and turn off your overdrive smile.gif Not gas-mileage friendly but it gets much faster and sportier biggrin.gif

Dont forget to use the kick-down future. Pedal to the medal and it will give you quite a push smile.gif

P.s. forgive me for bringing life to a dead topic but I was searching for more details on these 2 modes smile.gif I hope this helps.
