I think it's good that you're already planning out stuff for your future, that puts you a step ahead of a whole lot of community college kids. but at the same time, you should realistically consider which college option can best help you in the future: a 4 year degree from a respected liberal arts school (for example, Rutgers) or a 2 year degree in a specific field from a trade school. Now I'm not bagging either option, there's great options for all types of people, but there's no doubt that a 4 year degree opens up a whole lot more opportunities in many fields - including golf, business, teaching- than anything else. also, you'll meet tons of new people in college that are your age, people you won't be able to meet at a golfing trade school or anywhere else.

i would recommend going to community college for two years intending to transfer for a BA, and see where you are after two years. who knows if you'll still even like golf? a bunch of my friends did this and i think they thought it was a pretty good choice. nothing's set in stone and you can always just change your mind and sign up for something else if one option doesn't work out, i also have a few friends who decided during college that it wasn't what they wanted.

hey, I also go to UCSD. There's an import car club here called Imports@UCSD, www.importsucsd.com/, they have some pretty fun events but most of the people who are involved have more expensive cars that their parents bought them, for example, lexus, bmw, sti, evo etc. Check out the site or facebook group, the events are a good place to meet other car ppl and have a good time, they've had kart racing, cruises, bbqs, meetings and all sorts of other things. pm me if you wanna know more about ucsd or anything.

My top has stretched apart from the upper portion of the rear glass by almost an inch in the center, but when I took it to an upholstery and convertible top shop, they said the only thing is to either tape it or buy a new top. The tops are attached to the glass by a machine that melts them together, so there's no real solution. I've taped mine using thick, high quality water resistant duct tape in the tan color my top is. If you put a black piece on the inside to hold it together then layer it like roof shingles on the outside, water will flow down and over it. 2-3 sturdy layers has kept waterproof for a year, changing it maybe three times.

Cafepress.com does custom calendars for a more reasonable $15 to $20 depending on size, not sure where the 25 came from.

I remember not too long ago there was a posting about a Northern California/Bay Area meet, so I am starting this thread in hopes that someone will take the lead and organize it. Sorry I can't organize, but I think it would be fun to see all the celicas from thissite. How about this summer in August or early Sept?

Chrysler Sebring 2001+ are good cars. They changed the body style in 2001 and also started making them in America instead of Mexico = better quality. My dad has one.

the front turn signals should be on 50% when headlights are on-same as parking lights. more than likely, the less bright of the two filaments is burned out. try replacing the bulb.

It sounds like what happened to you was oversteer. generally, unless something is wrong with your car (like popped or worn tires), what your car does is a direct result of your input. again, something could be wrong with your car, but more than likely, it was a machine simply following your input of speed and cornering. the contact patch of a tire can only do so much at once, and that turn at that speed called for more than 100% of tire tread. go karting can help you learn to control oversteer and understeer, or you can take a safety/roadracing class to learn how to handle emergencies.

try turning your car off, popping the trunk and checking if your top is on manual or power. My switch got bumped accidentally once and I had the same problem. If the top is on power and the electronic switch is just broken, change to manual and then just operate the top by hand.

I have a GT limited edition vert. cars.com lists the green limited edition as just being supra green ext., tan int./top and fully loaded.

congrats on the bumper. i honestly think that the only good modified front bumper looks for the celica are splitters or C-One. The rest look bulky and cartoony, and destroy the Celica's clean lines.

I installed rear speakers myself, and didn't need to remove any part of the seat.

I ran into the same problem with my car when I was installing new rear speakers. You need to move the edge of the seat, where the seat cushion meets the plastic panel. Don't actually take off the seat cushion, just push the foam inwards towards the seat belt buckles, and you will see 2 or 3 plastic screws holding the side panel in (just like the plastic screws that hold the trunk inserts in). After you get those out, there are two visible screws near the rear windows. One has a snap on it. Take of both of these screws, then just wiggle the side panel out.

Check kelly blue book, kbb.com for price range in your zip and car condition. I checked for my area code, and the price for a 99 GT hatch in excellent condition was about $11,500.

If you want a roll cage for show and not function, consider a "show bar." I've seen them stock on a Saleen Mustang, but they are made for other cars too. I think jcwhitney.com has them, but they are kind of a low quality site, so try looking for show bar manufacturers.
