hey guys, I had a friend look at the hood of my car and he said that because there is no VIN number marking from the edges of the hood.... that it has been in a minor accident, and has been fixed up with after market material, so thats why there is no VIN number marking. I am very certain that this car was never in an accident of any sort. But there is the vin number markings on the door/trunk and so forth. Can anyone check one of their convts or coups and let me know if the vin number marking was suppose to appear the the front-edge of the hood? and if so, then where exactly.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE

yea that's what i was thinking as well. As far as doing it myself. I am not mechanically inclined, I know that you would need to know the basics about cars. What would you recommend in this case?

I was jus wondering, is there a way to just pay a performance shop like 4-6 grand and have them do all the work like getting the clip, installing the engine, and putting everything together. And I would make a monthly payment to them, like a financing plan for the 4-6gs for the swap.

its beginning to heat up in California and I have my top down or just driving with the windows down... after about 20 mins of driving my back is filled with sweat (leather seats). is there any way to not get this sweat on the back, besides from the obvious of turning the ac on.

hey guys and gals, I'm not really mechanically savvy or anything like that, but I want to do my own maintenance such as do a tune up, brake job, filter change, oil change...etc. I wanted to know is there like an idiots guide to maintenance online so that anyone can do the job. or if this information is available in the forms that I have overlooked.... if someone can point it out. thank you

the switch goes down without a problem... somethimes, but almost always has problems goin up. I think I need to clean the contacts on the inside or something. or need to check the motor. jubz, the repair manual scan would help.

u guys know how to take the door apart. sorry i'm a lil new to this. or know a place where i can get a guide or something

QUOTE(CoolDoctorJ @ May 9, 2005 - 12:25 PM)
This happens to me periodically.  If you feel up to it, you can take the switch apart, clean the carbon off the contacts, and then put it back in.  It should then work again for a few months.  I posted about this before and a couple of 'vert owners said it worked for them.  Hope it helps!

Edit: I'm going to need to do this again soon, maybe I'll take pics and make a how-to.  It seems that this is a fairly common problem.

i just recently got a new power window motor for the back passenger side, now the driver back side motor goes bad. I just want to do the replacement of motors myself if possible. I been lookin on the net and the fourms, and i couldn't find any guides to replace a power window motor. dont know what the price would be either, since i went though my warranty and it cost 100 bucks for each visit or something. help would be suggested, its a 96 gt convt

you can do just about anything when it comes to a car. it will prolly cost you maby say 5-7g? i dont know. i just think it might be easier cause, u can take it to a body shop and tell em u want a convt, and they make it. and since its already a gt-4 your set
