am selling my 1995 Toyota Celica GT with 278,000 KMS. This car has never been winter driven and is in great condition. The car is stored indoors during the winter. The car is being sold as-is. The car has an OEM supra spoiler. Has been lowered 2". It has 5-speed manual transmission and I installed a TRD short shifter. It will come with the silver rims and tires seen on the pictures. In the interior the car is overall in a good condition. I installed a bluetooth pioneer deck, all around infinity reference speakers, new speaker wire, and is pre-wired for subwoofers. I am asking for $2500. Please email me at danmumo@gmail.com for quick replies! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you for looking! |

What about just replacing the head gasket...? That's the most feasible option cost wise. Do it yourself and it won't cost over $100. What he said. Only it's for sure more than 100 bucks once you add up the fluids, gasket set, timing belt, tensioner, etc...but still. Just fix it. It only takes a couple days (if you're doing it right ie... sending the head to a machine shop to get resurfaced). Thanks for the replies guys! Im still unsure on what to do atm, but really would like to do a 3s swap ![]() @bsamps, just a quick question does the stock 5s tranny bolt to a 3sgte? (Considering that you've done the swap) I have searched around the forum for this and everyone says yes but some toyota nerd nearby where i live thinks not; so yeah. Thanks ![]() Yes, the S54 manual tranny that comes with the 5S will bolt-on with no problems AND should be fine with a 3SGTE as long as you aren't putting down crazy amounts of horsepower or torque. Yes, it will fit. It's done on 9/10 swaps. And would you also use the axles from the 5s or...? |

bring it to me in CA, ill take care of it Only if you return it new spring with a 3gste swap ![]() DO NOT start it every once in a while if youre temps are below freezing. You're going ot cause condenstaion build up. Park it with stabilizer in the gas, use engine fogger before parking, remove the battery and don't start it until after winter. I personally store mine on a set of crappy tires that arent driveable. Apparently over inflating your tires helps keep them from flat spots. Use bounce sheets in the bay inside the car and around the car to keep animals away and throw steel wool/rag/sometihng to plug the exhaust so animals don't crawl in and make a nest. I usually change the oil before sotage with some crappy cheap oil, and then change it again in spring (not neccesary, but thats what I do) I store mine outside, and prefer to not use a cover, as Im affraid the wind will blow and scratch the car, so I just let the snow sit on the car all winter. Occasionaly brushing some off, but not all. Been doing this for three or four years now with no issues. I also put my old rims with tires on it. Thanks for the tips, good to know. I wouldn't start it either. After long periods of not starting the engine has no oil pressure the first few moments. Instead I change my oil BEFORE starting the car when I take it out. Then I disconnect the igniter plug, crank it over for a few seconds to let the pressure rise, reconnect the plug then I start the car. It starts like a charm when I do this, no tickling sound and the oil pressure light doesn't stay on. I'll keep that in mind when I start it next spring Interesting document, will keep everything in mind when I put it away on Sunday! I Once again thank you all for your help. |

You know you own a celica when you order pizza and prefer to pick it up instead of getting it delivered so you can drive your celica just once more before the day ends ![]() Don't lie to us, you just didn't want to pay the delivery charge. ![]() It's a win win situation. I get to drive the car and at the same time save money for parts. ![]() |

I've decided to not do the bolt conversion. It's too costly since I'll need to buy new set of wheels along with the conversion. I might as well buy custom 5x100 wheels with that 2k. Lol. In other words I found a couple wheels that I'm looking into getting after I sell my rpf1s or my fnor1c. Avant Garde M240: ![]() Avant Garde M220: ![]() Rotiform Nue: ![]() I vote for the ones on the orange car. In my opinion they would look amazing on your ride. Btw, you have one nice looking celica ! |

I've never heard of them, I'd stick to OEM and top name brands. There's no point in replacing the head-gasket unless there are signs of it going out. As far as a good tune up I'd do the timing belt with all of the tensioners and pulleys, water pump, thermostat, oil pump, PCV valve, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, fuel filter, valve cover with spark plug tube seals, and replace the gearbox oil. I'd flush out the cooling system before changing the pump as well. Another thing you might look into is replacing the fuel pump strainer and flushing the injectors out. Can also do brakes and suspension if you feel like it. Of course a lot of this I'd only do if you plan on keeping the car for a long time. If not just run the car until something breaks, then replace it. Of course first thing first is figuring out why it's dumping oil everywhere. That is a long list! I do keep to keep the car forever. My girlfriend and I both have 6ge celicas and we want to keep them for as long as we can in the best running shape possible. Both of them need a lot of work and we will try and slowly get everything done. It is hard when you're on a tight budget and going to university. Things I really need go get done for next year are timing belt, suspension, the oil leak and figuring out why my car idles at 1300rpms. |

I have been reading this thread for the last 2 days in between classes and on the bus and i must say that your car is an inspiration to me! i am pretty new to the 6gen and car world in general and your car makes me want to learn a lot so i can slowly but surely mod my car to my likes! I am interested in seeing a recent picture of your interior ![]() |

Did you make sure the old oil filter gasket stayed on the filter when you removed it? I've seen the old gasket stay on the engine and create a bad seal when the new filter is put on. I will be checking this tomorrow to make sure it isn't that. Other places to check would be oil pan seal and valve cover gasket. Then you have fun ones like the main seal... Hopefully it's something simple. I plan on changing the timing belt before getting the car on the road next spring and i would like buying this kit : http://www.e-autosports.com/cometic/cometi...t/i-461748.aspx is it a hard job changing all those gaskets? and once again guys i appreciate your input, i am new to the 6g and still have a lot of learning to do!! |

Silly easy questions first, is it the right filter for the car? If it is check the threads on the engine where the filter goes to make sure they're not burred. If all of that checks out make sure you rub some oil on the filter seal and it's tightened all of the way. If none of that solves it we got a problem somewhere else. Everything seems to be okay...I made sure it was tightly sealed when I changed the oil ( synthetic) approximately 4000kms ago. I was told that it could be the mechanism where the oil filter lies on...but I have no idea? Do you know anything about that? |

I really need your knowledge guys! I found that the reason my oil filter is dry is because my car is leaking a huge amount of oil right where the oil filter goes. Does anyone know how I can stop this and what I would need to do and change? Thanks for your time ![]() |

What are some main factors that encourage MPG ? I know having good tires makes a big difference. With my 92 auto ST I would get 500kms/tank with stock 14 " and would get approximately 420kms/ tank with 17" rims and low profile tires. With my 95 gt I don't like letting get under half of tank but can get approximately 350kms/ half a tank in the city. |

Is she going to be out or inside? She will be stored inside in a non heated garage but already got her winter blanket to help keep unwanted dust off her. Unhook the battery for starters. But i would start it every once and a while, not really good for anything to sit too long You can put it up on jackstands (front and back). I do this with my chevelle just to get all the weight off the suspension parts and tires while its not going to be moving for an extended period of time. no point in wearing out parts just sitting. I dont think the gas would go bad in a short few months, but maybe get some fuel stabalizer (not exactly sure what its called) just to be safe give it a good wash and wax before you store is too Thanks for the tips. How about the oil, should I leave the current one (synthetic) with approximately 3000kms on it and change it when I get her running again or should I store it with clean and fresh oil. |
