well that viper is far from being stock... vipers have VERY poor steering angle from the factory. they add spacers to the steering rack, larger wheel wells, steering angle multiplyers and a ton of other little tricks to get it to do what it does.

Not a big deal, most if not all D1 cars are this way. but you can tell what drivers have more engeneering due to their factory backed sponsors.
This being one reason I dont care for alot of the most popular drivers & the entire Formula D series in general.

i could go on days about this but i hate getting into it.

i know everyone hits the wall... i sure have. and im sure i will again.
but hes 15 and yes he used to talk very cocky before. hes on one of my other forums.

I have respect for him tho, hes a lucky kid who recieved the chance of a lifetime, i hope he does well... ill be rooting for him more than I root for Sam H. or Reese M. (i dont care for them as drift drivers)

but hes accually hit the wall 3 times now (that im aware of) he wrecked at Irwindale before too, understeered right into it on his first lap of amature qualifying back when the viper was still blue.

But heres a pic thought you'd all enjoy... LOL

Quote from over a year ago: "I cant wait for Hogans first full throttle understeer entry into the wall"

and now i reep the benifits of my wishes 3 times so far, i wonder how long he'll stick to drifting?

LOLOLOLOLOL laugh.gif

see sig...

95' S14 OBD1, 97 front end, SR20 blacktop, full S15 T28bb setup, & too much $ invested

their not cheap I've done it on a budget and i have a ton invested.
I've even been playing around with the idea of selling it.
as much as I love the car, everything has its price
...but Ive had my car for 4 years, n' im not fond of the publicity driftings getting

If you wanna start a project you really need to ask yourself what your building it for.
-Drag, AutoX, Hillclimb, Road race, Drift, Daily, Sleeper

my cars built for drift, but I autoX and Im moving towards hillcimb next season.

I chose SR b/c the car maintains its 50/50 balence, Ive cornerweighed my car to a 50.2 cross weight. weighing in at 2650lbs.
with an RB series motor you'll never obtain that easily.

My cars being dynotuned as we speak and similar setups pushout ~270hp. so I'll know exatcly what she has shortly. and this is SR power, My friend has a S13 coupe with an RB20 and I must say I am a fan of the power and touque the RB20 has, esp b/c it revs higher than the RB25.

from my experience RB26s break too often, and KA24s blow headgaskets like its their job. IMO unless you build the KA i wouldnt run more than 5lbs of boost thru it. the SR is great but lacks touque like crazy, I had to relearn my driving style going from a KA for 3 years to an SR this year. the CA is another option, Its bacically a four cilinder RB25, great motor. reliable and capable of plenty of power.

so do some research n check them out, great cars, fun to drive, but as allways very expensive

cool, im a sucker for old school rat rod style... and flat black is deff that

but i caution you. dont leave it in primer too long, the reason primer is primer is b/c it adhears well to paint. why? b/c it absorbes moisture. the paint on your car will look satin when wet but youll begin to see oil spots stuff once the car gets dirty a few times. the real reason it isnt safe is b/c too long and the primer will cause the car to rust since it holds moisture against the paint

Were painting a few cars satin ourselves, but using semigloss enamel so it doesnt absorb moisture

....ya that was like a parental speech, srry
looks great~Jon

so whens this movie come out?...

I need to know when im going to start getting mad tickets for driving around town/having to put a $5000 security system on my car/and all the rest that'll come with this

I like my car. i dont want to be sterotyped. I dont want to have to sell my car, but if it gets outta hand like the first two did for that underground scene. then i see no other option. all i can picture is 16yr olds totalling a million of the million and one 240sx' out there.

I drift... on a track, I also autoX, im starting to take interest in roadracing at tracks, and I cruize around enjoying my car...

I hate this ****** movie... >: (
(srry for the rant)

hmm... ya, I just never liked many of the kits they make for my car

my plan was to take the stock 97 bumper which imo looks terrible.
cut out the ugly triangles and extend the mouth to appear more aggressive with an IC...

you guys have som clean cars with these suttle additions, i know doggy made a sweet bumper for someone with the lip kit he got from consynx...

i accually found someone who beat me to the idea allready online, but i dont care i still like the look. heres a concept i did of the bumper with photoshop...
i just dont know how these people shave the lights and make it look so clean... : \

user posted image

^^^imo this is the cleanest 240 ive ever seen, but im just trying to figure out how to shave the body parts like this so cleanly...

i guess i might have to expiriment

Hey all,
I notiice alot of you guys have gotten really good at custommizing your own body kits, parts, etc...

i really taken away with the detail and perfection you guys go thru. but in all honesty. how do you do it???

Im no celica, I own a 240sx... im friends with alot of the members here and theve let me graciously tag along on all the celi meets here in western PA.

Im doing a front end conversion and wanted to customize the front bumper... but I dont see how its done without making another entire mold.
Its a urathane bumper, flexes waaaay to much to use fiberglass, cant use bondo, cant use dura-glass, anything hard will be destroyed on the first bump... do you glue in more pieces of urathane? is their a special techniquie?

someone please explain how you shave lights and such with urathane...???

thanks!: Jon biggrin.gif
