If you're gonna go cheap, I agree with Box. I say punch out the dent, fill it with bondo, and respray it yourself with rustoleum paint. I sprayed my winter beater a few years back with rustoleum and I must say, I am very impressed with the paint. Besides the few small rock chips on the hood, the car still looks the same as the day I painted it.

Before paint - A complete eye sore. Notice the big ass dent on the hood. I didn't bother to pull it out. Instead, I just slapped some bondo on it the ghetto way.

After paint. Bondo smooth and dent not very noticeable.

Close up of my bondo work. I've been slamming my hood shut for the last few years and the bondo hasn't chipped or popped off yet. I don't have a recent picture of it but it still looks good to me.

Bump! Still searching for grandma's and grandpa's car!!!!!

Not looking to spend more than 4 grand. If I was going to spend more, I'd rather shell out a few more grand and get me a nice '04-'09 Toyota Solara instead, which is a better bang for the buck in my opinon. Besides, I've been eyeballing those for a while now too.

C'mon, I know there's a celica out there with my name on it! frown.gif

I know this is off topic but I can't take my eyes off the color of your car. It is absolutely beautiful, especially when the light hits it like in this pic.

Nice. I love how clean it is.
Is that teal paint around the door handle or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Hey everyone!

As the title states, I am in the market for a new (used) car. I drive far for work so I am looking for a reliable daily that is stock or very close to it. I am mainly looking for a '96-'99 year celica but will settle for a nice '90-'93 celica as I've always had my eyes on those.

The celica I am looking for must be:
-CLEAN/ MINT/ WELL TAKEN CARE OF (No missing parts please)
-ACCIDENT FREE
-RUST FREE
-AUTOMATIC
-HATCHBACKS ONLY (Not interested in coupes or convertibles)
-preferably 130k miles or less
-preferably GT or GT-S (for the 5thGen)
Open to all colors but MUST BE ORIGINAL PAINT!!!

I guess my ideal celica that I want to buy are the ones owned by grandmas and grandpas. You know, the ones that are lightly handled and garaged 90% of the time. smile.gif so GRANDMAS and GRANDPAS.. PLEASSSSSSE SELL ME YOUR CAR.

I live in Michigan and clean celicas are very hard to come by so I am willing to travel for the right car. Let me know what you have. Pictures will be great!
Thank you and have a great day!

Hi everyone!

I am looking to buy a duckbill spoiler for my blue celica as the GT4 blocks are getting to be too much for me now. I am fully aware that Doggy sells them for $170 shipped but I think that is a bit pricey. That will be my last resort because I am not looking to spend that much for a spoiler at the moment. So with that said, please contact me if you have a duckbill for sell. I have paypal! biggrin.gif

It took me 3 days to finish painting the car because I had to wetsand in between coats. I'm very picky. I laid down the paint in thin layers because unlike real car paint, this paint drips easily. I did so many coats that I lost count... ..so I'd say 10+..

As far as prep goes, the only thing I did was sand the car down and mask. No need to waste money on primer smile.gif I also pulled out a few dings and dents before paint.

SwissFerdi - Thanks. $50 sure beats spending $500 for paint!

Ruroniarc - Thank you. No drips or anything... just not enough shine biggrin.gif

Random_Stranger - Thanks. My hubby thinks the paint job on my corolla is "cute" ..WTF is that suppose to mean?!?! Anyway, I'm sure you'll find your girl. She'll come around before you know it.

2bcelica - Thank you!

richee3 - Anything can look good with the right amount of effort smile.gif

Bitter - I like my wheel covers. ..and besides, I think white wheels look like cheap plastic on a car. Also, white + white = too much white for me.

soulshadow - The back lights and Toyota emblem were the only things I took off. I masked everything else.

I've wanted to try the $50 paint job for the longest time. Since my husband and I are saving for a house, I didn't want to spend too much money fixing my crappy winter beater. ...and so, I finally got a chance to try the $50 paint job a few weeks ago.

I used Rustoleum paint. No primer. No clear. Just paint. Sprayed on. No rolling. All work done by me.

Not much shine to the paint but for the money spent, I'm not complaining. The paint needs more buffing for a better shine. I'm just too damn lazy to do that right now. Overall, it's not too bad for a crazy cheap/ghetto paint job. However, I would NEVER do that to any of my celicas. My celicas deserve much better than that.

I've been driving the corolla to work everyday and so far, the paint looks pretty durable. No chips anywhere.

What do you guys think? Any personal experiences with this paint?

Hey thanks! How have you been? I haven't seen you online for awhile and I thought by you showing your face, we were making some progress here. LOL I have to say, I missed ya.

LoL! ..I guess you thought wrong.

I've been busy. School and work has been kickin' my butt lately.
How are ya? I see you've been busy lovin' your celica. smile.gif She's looking better everytime I see her.

PS - I still think your wheels look badass.

I haven't seen anyone use a Sun monitor in forever! lol Nice wallpaper!

Thanks! I love my wall paper too! biggrin.gif
My old monitor crapped out so I got that one from my brother-in-law. It works great so I'm content with it. No complaints here at all.

We went late night shopping at Walmart and my hubby bought this for me. A kitted Supra. Cute, isn't it?

Joe, ever thought about painting it yourself? wink.gif
I'm bored with my blue celica.. so it's in storage right now.

I already have another car lined up for paint by next year. Pics when I'm done. Promise. biggrin.gif
