Not to thread hijack, but:

1) Do you need to remove plastic underbody to access the drain plug?

2) Just want to clarify that it is illegal to dump coolant because it is hazardous to the environment.

I dont think the skirts work on a hatch, but if someone can confirm they do, I'll take them.

The stock skirts should only work on the convertible models.

i have heard that skirts are interchangeable on all celis
only the rear end is diff.
coupe and vert are longer

But the stock skirts on convertibles are different, they have clips in the back that just push into the body from the sides. This is why ALL convertibles have factory side skirts, becuase if they didn't then there would be a square beam with holes in it showing. The fenders on convertibles are also different too. The part of the fender hiding under the stock skirts has a bolt going through the side of it.

Are you sure? I have seen convertibles with no side skirts before, although they may be pre-1996.

Check the junkyards down by the border. I know that 6g celicas are hard to find in salvage lots but I think a stock Camry 5sfe intake box should be the same.

Has anyone seen this before?

It's a valve that you screw on your oil pan and it makes easier for you to drain your oil.
Any reviews?

I can only get 22 mpg. all city, half aggressive driving, and the other half as conservative as I can. last summer I was getting like 330 miles per tank, with about 100 or so of it on the freeway at about 65-70 MPH. and the rest in the city. now I get like 230 miles per tank. kindasad.gif and it costs like $45 to fill up the tank.

X2

X3. I don't know how you other GT guys are getting such great gas mileage. I routinely get 22-23 regardless of how I drive.

Maybe because he races in another country besides the U.S. and this website is based in the U.S.

A couple questions:

-Why does the CAI sound louder (and the SRI even louder) than the stock air intake? If the SRI sounds the loudest of them all, does that mean that by adding hot air to combustion a louder noise is produced?

-If I rev my engine with CAI in neutral, the noise isn't that loud. Why do increased revs in gear (1st, 2nd, etc.) sound louder than in neutral?

Thanks.

I've owned both a 95 ST and 00 GTS... And from personal experience, i loved my 00 GTS 6spd better then my 6th gen. I love the interior of the 6th, but powerwise a 2zz is a really good motor. It all depends on who you ask though. Most people will just say "just drop a 3sgte" which is true. But if your looking for a car just to buy and is quick already and GREAT on gas. I definately would recommend a 2000-2001 GTS 6 speed only.

You will get tired of that auto GT SOOO fast.

What's wrong with the 2002+ GTS? Bad quality?

It surprised me how easy it was to remove the old starter and install the new one. I took me less than 30 minutes to do the whole thing.

Well, I went to Pepboys and bought a starter ($150/ $30 refund if I bring in my old starter). Car works again but I didn't know starters were so freakin expensive. Autozone has ours for $160 and Kragen/Checkers has it for $140 (they were out of stock). For some reason they don't make generic (cheaper) starters for our cars?

A bad starter normally doesn't give you the "clickclickclickclick" when you try and start your car - that's usually a symptom of an electrical problem.

I disagree. That is exactly what mine did and replacing the starter fixed the issue. maybe a constant clickclickclick, but when you turn your key and get one click and then nothing it is wise to look into the starter first.

Yeah, that's what I thought. But I figure if I am able to jumpstart the car then the starter is not the problem? I'm just a little confused about what the connection between being able to jumpstart and if I have a bad starter.

I know I know, I used the search function but I couldn't find the answer.

Last night my car wouldn't start; I heard a click when I turned the key, but nothing happened. My friend jumpstarted my car and I managed to drive home. When I came home the car wouldn't start again by itself, so I replaced the battery. I still hear the clicking noise and the car still won't start.

If I was able to jumpstart the car, is the problem with the battery and not the starter?

I like what you did...I put in a bluish white bulb in my liscense plate thing. and then i have Red blue red for my bulbs, but since i have the indiglo guages, all the red blue red is used for are the needles and then the spedometer.

Do all cars have the parking lights? I turn mine one notch, and only the turnsignals and sidemarkers come on...

Are the parking lights JDM only?

On an even further note..I absolutely hate when people attack grammer on the internet. This aint Comp 1 buddy. No one cares..We're here to talk cars not apostrophes. You make yourself look even more like a jackass when you call out someone else's grammer and use the wrong verb tense. (i.e. have not has)

It rates right up there with putting 20s on a celica...Simply....Unneccessary.

Not that it matters, but it's spelled grammar. wink.gif

It's a vicious cycle of spelling corrections. Haha.
