I guess I could considering adding myself to this list. I've barely been on these forums for 10 years, but I still have my Celica, with no plans to sell.

She was totaled by insurance back in 2013, but I kept driving her daily until last year. Now she's just parked in the shop. She sat for 1.5 years, then last week I just swapped in a new battery, and she fired right up. Damn, I love Toyota. I washed her, and am getting her ready for storage, which got me thinking about all the modifications I always wanted to do and never did. Which then got me back on this site for the first time in years.

I think it's safe to assume I'll never sell. I'd probably only get $1000, and she's worth far more than that to me. Maybe in another 20 years she'll be a collectors item wink.gif

This is totally random, and not even close to Celica related, but thought I'd share for anyone who might be interested. I'm getting super excited for a new MMORPG that it in development right now. It's called Chronicles of Elyria. It's a massively ambitious project and the game is going to be absurdly immersive. It's being compared to a medieval simulator in some ways. You can be a farmer, an explorer, a blacksmith, a map maker, or architect, etc. You can also be nobility, and manage your land, collect taxes, etc. Oh, also...your character gets old and dies eventually (about 1 year of game-play). However, in your next life, you retain some of the skills your soul learned in your first life. Anyway, I'm definitely going to play it. Feel free to ask any questions if you have them.

You can find their KickStarter page here (already more than 100% funded): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/soulbo...ing/description

And you can read up on the game mechanics and features on their website here: http://chroniclesofelyria.com/blog

It's interesting I'm posting here. I used to be an active member here on these forums, but have hardly been around in the last 7 years or so (I still own my Celi though). I decided to come back to see how things are going here, and saw this thread. I'm in the NorthWest, and remember going to a 6GC meet with Coomer and a few others probably about 9 years ago now. Here's some pictures I took there of the Yelli Celi in it's glory:

Seems to me it has less to do with the car and more to do with the person. I have friends that drive crazier that I do, yet have never been pulled over. I've been pulled over a ton, but have only been ticketed three of those times. But it doesn't have to with the celica for me. Most of those times I've been pulled over have been in other cars. Only twice in the celica.

Go with a Honda Accord in my opinion. My family/friends and I have had at least a dozen over the years, and I swear by them. Never once had a bad experience related to quality of the vehicle. Something like this: http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/ctd/1644926834.html , will be a great car to you for years.

Lol, as I understand it Kawai is not a place for tourists wink.gif, but Oahu, Maui and the big island are fantastic places for us.

Maybe it's a personal preference thing, but I was in Kauai last spring break, and I loved it. I'd go back in a heart beat. If your looking for the whole touristy, packed beaches, and girls in bikinis experience, go to the bigger islands. But I scuba dived, hiked the country, went on a boat ride along the Napali coastline and got about 15 feet away from a huge humpback, and found beautiful secluded beaches that weren't packed with tourists. So it just depends what your looking for in a vacation.

Wow, I just looked up the exchange rate. I can't believe it's approaching 1:1. If I was you, and planning on keeping the car for a while, I'd let them total it, take the money and buy the car back, and then fix it for half of what you're being quoted. (Then use the remaining 2000 on modifications. =D )

If enough people want parts and it adds up to $200, I'll drive down to Corvallis and pick everything up myself and ship it out to people, and sell what's left.

Is one of the headlights in the pic a driver side high beam? If so, toss me a $$$ amount. No ship, can make arrangement for pickup in pdx.

Sorry, I also meant to say, I used two of the headlights and sold the other two quite a while ago. I.e., not everything in the background of those pictures is still around.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that these parts are off of a 1997 black, manual, convertible, limited edition (hence the gold badges). I figure everyones smart enough to know what parts will fit on the hatch and coupe (that being, most of them), but just reminding you all. wink.gif

Here's a couple pictures I have of a few of the items. I'll try and get some more next time I'm down in Eugene (maybe this weekend).

(the fender does have a small scratch and a small paint chip on it) I think I might also have the rear bumper. I need to double check on that though.

Yup, GriffGirls pretty much hijacking my thread. wink.gif She's willing to buy all the stuff from me if she can just find enough people interested in some of the parts to cover the inital cost. I don't think that will be too hard.

For clarification, the distrubuter is not "new", but it's a certified referb; I think i bought it from Knechts. Paid 125 for it. I'll post up the picture I do have as soon as I can.

Looks like a good buy. Clean car. What is it, a 94? Too bad the rims don't come with. What about the aftermarket deck and speakers though?

(I'm guessing that it's just an aftermarket shift knob that makes it look taller)

yup, $150 for all the stuff. It's always good if you can become friends with the guys at the junkyard. wink.gif Right as I was paying for my stuff, some ditzy girl walked in and asked for a rear view mirror and a seat belt, and the guy quoted her $60. I almost laughed.

They charged me $150 for those, a gauge cluster, an AC/heater control, rear seat, carpet, and some random plastics. I couldn't complain. =]

I was at the one junkyard in town the other day looking for something for a school project, and I happened to see a 6th gen in pretty good condition. I got a great deal because I told them i just wanted a lot of superfluous interior and exterior parts, and that I'd strip them myself. The item I'm happiest about though, is definitely these stock side skirts. I've been trying to get my hands on a pair for a reasonable price for a couple years. So now I get to gloat a little. wink.gif
