Last and final update. Ok for all you Celica convertible owners out there that can't figure out why your top won't go up or down even after you pull out and check the motors, check the relay, and inertia switch. OK go into the trunk and pull the little access door off the back of the seat. Inside there is a F**K'N switched marked "MANUAL", flip it up. Now try your top.
At least one good thing came out of this. I fixed the one motor that had a sheared pin in it. Oh, and I found out that there is a freakin switch in the trunk that inactivates the top motors and you can apparently switch it while loading groceries or something into the trunk without realizing it. Thats it. Thanks for watching... tongue.gif

Upon further investigation I think the inertia switch that activates when the car is moving is stuck. Now I just have to figure out where it is. Anybody have any idea before I start tearing the car apart again and tracing wires?

Ok so I got everything apart and one side had the snapped pin. No problem, punched it out and put in a new pin. Reassembled everything and the damn motors still don't turn. I'm now thinking the relay has gone bad because I can hear it clicking but the motors aren't turning. I hot wired the motors and they both turn but just not with the relay in place. Anybody have a spare relay?

Yes I just put a set on my TC rims. 225/45/17 Yokahamas. I've got my car lowered with TRD springs and Bilsteins and they look great and right awesome.

One other thing that I figured out was that the front upper spring perches are directional. There is a little arrow that is pointing with the word OUT next to it. Make sure it is on the outside or the perch will rub the inner well of the fender.

I just finished doing mine this morning also. I think I redid at least one each of the fronts and backs because I forgot something after I had it back together. I forgot to put the lower rubber cushon from the old strut on the new rear struts so I had to take those back out after installing and put it in. On the front I forgot one of the bump stops after I had it in so that had to come back out and apart. I think the fronts on my car had already been rebuilt once because the top nuts were different left from right and neither side had the bump stops installed. Here was my parts list w/part #'s for those interested.

TRD Sport Springs - PTR04-20940-08
Bilstein Shocks & Struts - PNE-3143-BK Fronts
VNE-4957-BK & VNE-4956-BK Rears
Rear Shock Bumpers x 2 - 48341-20240
Front Shock Bumpers x 2 - 48331-20110
Rear Shock Covers x 2 - 48559-12080
Front Shock Covers x 2 - 48559-20080

Also installed new rear sway bushings while I had it up in the air.
Part # 48818-20380 x 2

Here is the finished product.

I just got a set of 4 Bilsteins off Ebay 2 weeks ago for $318 to my door. I put the rears on tonight. (Didn't have time to do the fronts). With TRD springs it droped the rear 3/4 of an inch. Height at the fender lip before was not quite 26 inches. After the install was about 25 1/4.
I've had Bilsteins on my Supra for 7 years and I love them. They are great everyday driving shocks.

I can't believe after all the talk about wanting a meet that none of you showed up this weekend for the one in Tampa at XAT Racing. I was the only 6th Gen that showed. Next time everybody wines about wanting a meet and someone actually sets one up how about SHOWING UP... mad.gif
On a side note. My bone stock GT vert with 179K made 102whp and 126 ft/lbs of torque tongue.gif

93 pump gas

Try some Sunoco 103 next time and up the boost to about 17-18psi. That will about max out the ct26.

QUOTE(lagos @ Nov 5, 2006 - 8:06 PM)

sometimes not enough fuel will loose you HP. leaner doesn't always make more power. in the 2nd pic, i was at about 13psi. the car made a peak hp at:
RPM / HP / TQ / A/f
5.60 / 229.98 / 214.76 / 11.39

then in the 1st pic, the boost was somewhere around 15psi the A/f ratio went leaner, yet the power didnt change at all. do the idea is, that if im running more boost, and i add more fuel, i should gain some power.
RPM / HP / TQ / A/F
5.60 / 230.14 / 216.02 / 12.78

True. I didn't realize you backed down the boost on that second run. What octane fuel did you run?

i was talking to nuke, and he seems to think i can gain a nice 20hp if i add more fuel at the same boost level as that 1st sheet that i posted. woot!

That doesn't make sense. The first run you looked lean, AFR's around 13-14. The second run you appeared to have more fuel, AFR's around 11-12. With more fuel you lost a little HP and 20ft/lbs of torque. The second curve looks good A/F wise I would say another pound or two would be about as much as you could safely run with your setup as it is. Put some 103 octane in the tank and turn it up 5 pounds and see what that will get you. biggrin.gif

Yea that was me...lol how come you didnt say hey, I was there with Colin but he was up his mr2 buddies asses, i felt pretty inferior there considering i had the slowest....un turboed car there. =(

I didn't drive my Celica and I didn't see you when you came in, sorry or I would have said hey. I didn't really stay to long. I think I spent more time over at the fish restraunt and across the street at Driven Concepts than there at XAT. smile.gif Nice new shop though.

Have fun then, it looks good smile.gif I went to a Supra/Lexus meet down here awhile back. It was nice. There were about 4 or 5 Supras with 800+hp

Yea the SoFla Supra guys are a good group. I used to live in Pompano and worked right by Executive Airport off of Commercial Blvd. I love coming back down when I can. I'm trying to get down for the Miami vs. UNC game in Oct. Anybody have tickets they'ed be willing to give up for a UNC Alumni? biggrin.gif
