Hey,
So i need to replace my '94 bumper. Thought i'd go to a 96+. I read the several posts here saying it was bolt on and fits the exact same as the 94/95 just the turn signals wont fit and you have to do some wiring for the fogs. No problem.

I phone up toyota and they say they are 100% sure the 96-99 bumper will not fit the 94. Are they just not well educated or is there something different about the Canadian reinforcement bar behind the bumper that makes them fit different? The shop is reluctant to order me a 96+ bumper because of this.

after fooling around some with the power steering pump, I think you are right. I'll have to find a new rack and pinion and throw it on it looks like. Thanks for the help.

It seems like as soon as i fix something on my car, something else goes. This time it's the power steering i believe. As i turn my wheel, there are intermittent periods that lack power assistance and require a significant amount of force just to turn the wheel. At these points i also have to use manual force to turn the wheel back into a straight position. This doesn't happen all the time, just at particular points in the steering radius. (included a picture to illustrate.)

I checked the fluid and it is full, but quite dirty. 'Murky' would be the word i use to describe it.

The belt squeaked last winter, but stopped after some belt dressing was applied. Belt hasn't squeaked since.

Any advice as to what i should suspect is greatly appreciated.

you wouldnt happen to still have the (NON-ABS) rear calipers, rotors, backing plates and parking brake cable left over?

hey guys, just like the topic says, I need to replace my front right caliper on my '94 ST, and i found a really good price for a front right caliper off a '97 GT. Just wondering if it will fit my ST. Thanks in advance.

i think you can get a caliper rebuild kit or something, not too familiar. From what i understand, your ability to pull the pieces of your current caliper are what make this easy or hard. But if that doesnt work you'll want to replace them.

check your calipers too just incase. i had the same problem and one of the rods on my caliper that put pressure on the pads had siezed, making constant pressure on one portion of the disc. It was the culprit for warping my rotors and causing the shaking.

clutch pressure loss remains, but the brakes are fixed, its a bit embarassing as it was just a bolt that broke, i replaced it and she's good as new.

alright, so i have been having nothing but problems lately. I needed a new clutch, so i had one installed. now my clutch is loosing pressure if i hold it in for any period of time. Likely a blown slave cylinder. I'm still driving it though, because i need to get around somehow. So now, on top of that problem, my brakes (which are brand new, installed about 3 weeks ago), are making grinding noises on my front driver side wheel during driving, and they have HUGE chatter and grinding when braking. On top of that, it sounds like my suspension on that wheel isnt even working, every bump is a loud bang, and it pulls to the left. The ride feels fine however.... other than the pull to the drivers side.... anyone have any guesses? the wheel noise just started yesterday evening.

so problems are:

-clutch loosing pressure
-Front Driver side Brakes grinding and chattering
-Front Driver side wheel making bang noise over bumnps.

also, does anyone know what the deal is with the slave cylinder repair kit here: https://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/partscat.html

spacers are just for the flush look.
I have 7th gen rims with 205/50/R16's

And...

I have Ichiban 15mm spacers up front and 20mm spacers in the back, they are installed and look a little sunk with my stock 14" wheels. But it should look almost exactly flush on my lowered car. I dont know yet though because, as i said, im on 14" winter stealies right now tongue.gif

hey,
I installed this chrome intakes ram air on my ST a few months ago and since I've installed it I've gotten about 100km/tank less than i used to with my stock intake. Was I wrong in thinking the gas mileage would get better if not stay the same? could i have possibly done something wrong? (it's pretty simple, i don't think i goofed on anything.)

i have 15mm for the front and 20mm for the rear. They came with extended studs. Which would mean I'm to replace my stock studs with these ones? they barely seem any longer... maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. anyways, is there a guide out there that shows you how to replace stock studs on a '94 ST?
