I have a 99GT also, and everyone seems to have an injen intake (short ram) for the GT. I was also hoping to find a CAI but they're right, no one makes them. I was planning to get the injen intake soon, any suggestions on the cheapest place to get them? tongue.gif

I'm pretty happy with my wheel gap now. Any lower and I would be scraping on driveways and bumps in the road. . . not to mention, I still have smooth ride.

does that stuff work or is it a bunch of advertising BS? Or is it worth it to take into a shop and bite the bullet and pay for them to be cleaned?

Whoah! at adventon the injen is $150 + $11 tax + $11 delivery = $162 !!!!

I thought Ptuning's total $194 was the lowest!

Has anyone bought the one from adventon? Are they a legitimate company? Hopefully the Injen isn't defective or anything.

I think I might order from Adventon, unless, anyone has heard anything bad about ordering from them? tongue.gif

I turn the key in the ignition. The engine starts. The rpms go up to 2000 then slides back down to 800. Normally it idles here. But the engine just dies on me. I have to try it two more times and then it catches.

This happened in February twice in that month. I went in for a 60,000 full maintenance service at the end of February. Its been fine since...until now. Its happened only once, yesterday, so I'm not too worried.

But what's the deal?

I have a 99GT. Its looks great and handles curves well especially now with my 17's and eibach sportlines. I think it has one of the sportiest interior styling around. It lacks in straightline power/speed, but everything else - reliability, handling, comfort and style -- all around excellent. wink.gif

Yeah, I've been looking around for the best priced Injen for my '99 GT. Sometimes, the initial price looks cheap, but once you slap on the delivery, its definitely over $200-$220. I'll look some more and try to beat Ptuning's price. But if not, thanks for the info. , its a good deal. tongue.gif

Dust and dirt really show up on a black celi, but when my celi is washed and I see the clouds floating by on my hood... all I can say to myself is "damn, I'm lucky to have such a sweet ride."

Looks good. I like the pics because I'm planning to get an Injen for my Celi too.
How does it sound? And do you really feel a little power gain?

if you have a ST get the cold air intake by injen. Don't get the short ram. I have a GT and wish they had a CAI for it but they only offer an Injen short ram. the CAI by Injen for ST's will give you more bang for your buck...hp that is.

Finally I got those 17's and Eibach Sportlines for a good deal from Victoria Tire and Wheel. $$ was good but Service sucked. It took them 3 months to deliver them!! I would NOT do business with them again.

The springs are in, the wheels with 205-45/R17's Z rated Ventus Hancooks are on. The funny thing is Eibach Sportlines are supposed drop our Celica's about 1.5", but I measured mine, and they are definitely lower than that! 1.75" at least! Hopefully they are not defective springs, I didn't want any bottoming out. But I'm not complaining. That wheel gap between the tire and the top of the wheel well is gone. The curve of the tire and wheel fits perfectly with the curve of the fender/wheel well curve.

The ride is not rough at all. I'd say pretty similar to stock 15's and stock springs. I just have to slow down for speedbumps so that I don't scrape.

Got some wheel locks too, just in case.

I also painted my calipers to match the silver of the rims and to hide any rust.

What do you guys think? Its my first mod, but I am pretty happy with the results.

Handles great around curves too!

So I got new wheels and I was wondering what you all think are the BEST locking lugs out there. I so some at Kragen but who knows if there good or not?

If you have any brand names or manufacturer names to suggest, let me know. I going to a speed shop this week to buy some. wink.gif

Photos of the new wheels and eibach sportlines soon!

By the way (Victoria Wheel and Tire SUCks! DO NOT buy from them. I got cheap 17's which look great, but it took them three freakin months to get them delivered!!)

Thanks.

Shaun, that'll be great if you take those measurements. I got these eibach sportlines from a Victoria Tire and Wheel. They were a little sketchy or something, but I hope they didn't give me defective springs! ...Even though the box said Eibach Sportlines.

I'll show some pics next week of my new rims and drop!!!!!!!!! smile.gif

Hey do we need a camber kit for switching our stock springs to eibach sportlines?

I just can switch them right?

So I am about to pickup my car. They replaced my stock springs with the EIbach Sportlines. According to the guy on the phone its way more than 1 1/2" drop. I'll see for myself in an hour.

but have any of you guys had more than the the so called 1.5" drop for eibach sportlines on our celicas?

I don't mind a lower drop, I just want to make sure that the eibach sportlines I got from Victoria TIre and WHeel (the place I also got my wheels and tires) gave me the right ones. They were so disorganized, who knows maybe they gave me wrong ones.

I definitely do not want to bottom out. And I definitely don't want defected springs. So let me know if any of you got more than 1.5" when you installed those sportlines.

Also, can I use my original locking lug nut on my new wheels? Will it fit? confused.gif

so I'm having eibach sportlines installed and new 17's installed and aligned. Do I need a camber kit for this 1 1/2" drop?

It should be done this afternoon. I'll post some pics soon.

Oh by the way, I got cheap wheels and tires at Victoria WHeel and Tire but It took them 3 MONTHS to get to me. So I suggest not going to get wheels from them. Their service SUCKS! They got my order mixed up to and sent the wrong tires to me.
