just a quick question have any of you guys actually been to Bastrop? My family owns some land down there and its not much of anything...I say you guys make it a weekend trip and goto Austin or something and do more than just drive around. Just my two cents. Also, Feb is going to be cold as balls, and isnt anywhere close to spring break. Let me just say as being from Austin there are some badass areas to drive in west austin and would be a much more worthwhile trip than good ol Bastrop. . . |

This has been covered quite a few times...the basic answer is you can never really predict how much these things cost, there are tons of hidden costs and upgrades that come up as you go. Normally people spend around 3-4k on this if they do it themselves. I would check out Superior Trading also, they are located in Houston i think and would save you some money on shipping ( you could just go pick up a clip) since your in El Paso. |

depends on how good of a build you do. If you just throw it in and dont upgrade the proper parts or take care of it, it wont last long if you just throw in a 3sgte and head to the tracks. Some guys here have been running a 3sgte for quite some time. All the info your looking for has been discussed many times before...If you need any help or anything send me a message. Ive always wanted to be involved with a swap before, just not enough free time to do one myself. |

So i took my seats off and got my sub box finally out, I could never figure out why he did it the way he did it..Then I noticed these two black bars that go diagonally across the open area back there. Its hidden in the trunk by the lining and hidden behind the seats. I never knew anything about these or what they do so i dont know if its stock or not. They seem to be welded in there though... Does anyone know what these are? |

what do you mean by dark tint? Do you mean that natural darkness or did you add tint to these? |

Did you figure out how to take the rear panels off on the vert? If not you have to take out the bottoms of the back seats, they should pull right out. Then there are two screws at the bottom of the panel and two more on top. One is black and the other is in the button. IF you remove all these screws the panel should slide right off (towards the front of the car) Just so this is on record. |

You should sell that vert cover...they go for like 8 million dollars. People have created cup holders that go in replace of the cubby hole below the cd player. However if you have a double din obviously its not possible. My vote is the backseat though. As big as I am no one fits. I removed the rear ashtray and put in another cigarette lighter type thing for car chargers, since im charging my ipod, phone etc all the time. |

do you mean turn signals? Cuz those are the only things that differ. The clear turns are on 96-99 style bumper... the ones with the amber coverings are on 94-95... They also sell clear turns for the 96-99 that are purely clear instead of that fogged lines with the amber piece. Hope this helps. |

So ive searched and ive searched, probably not very well, but i did it anyways. My question is the guy who owned my vert before me put in this beefy box with a sub and the sub no longer works, i cant get to it except through the backseat and I cant figure out how to take the back seat out. Is it the same as the hatchback seat removal? Also I cant figure out how to take out the rear paneling in the vert where the speakers are placed. He disconnected them and i want to reconnect them. Im doing some audio work this week and appreciate any help. Ill take some pics tomorrow of what i mean and keep trying...i just didnt wanna break anything and thought id ask first. Josh. |

have you thought about putting the components in the front doors and putting the tweeters in the stock location? Just a suggestion, but then you could get the tweeter covers and make it look stock, save alot of the custom work. |

Shocker less is more... I would paint the stereo surround and the climate control surrounding. And then i would paint the door handle things and the air vents in the dash. MAYBE i would paint the little window/door lock relay thing in the door. Just enough to make your interior pop a little bit. |

Yea that car is sweet. The only complain i have about it is that light blue interior pieces. I think it would look much better with black pieces or orange or anything other than a baby blue. |

Yea but unfortunately I dont have the time or the money to finish this car so I am just going to sell it as is. There was an awful storm in Austin about a week ago though and it has some hail damage, including a spiral crack in the glass on the passsenger side. THe crack looks pretty cool, and its not the kind that will spread thank god. I had a mechanic look at it and he had a couple of things replaced and im going to put a new battery in it this weekend. I will be going sunday to my other house where it is at and bringing it back to my house so i can get it ready to sell. I will update everyone again on the condition of it, but i just wanted to let everyone know about the storm we had... This car needs some work, I wont lie. But i think for the money your saving on this car you could easily put the extra grand or so your saving into this car and it would flawless. If i had a grand i would totally keep it. I will take more pictures of it Sunday... |

Thanks guys, and to be honest...i know i could get more, I paid 2500 for it, and got it into a pretty good condition. Pending the painting it might go up, i think its still under warranty though. This is priced to sell though, and i think its a great deal. As far as the JDM tails go, I did the white turn signal mod or whatever and removed the amber signal..so that would probably take some of the value away from them... but its got the tint, the paint, it has ZERO rust, and is in great condition. To answer scandinavian_link's question, the plan right now is to sell it during the summer, I cant get it ready to sell until I go home for the summer around early May, so it should be ready at the end of may pending the amount of money I have... I still have to work out the price with my parents, but I am pretty sure they wouldnt mind taking 2000 for it. If anyone has any other questions let me know, I will be honest with you about whatever it is that you have questions about. |
