yes they are, my b/f had them on his vw. the quality wasn't great, but they were strong. there were a lot of flaws in the finish, the lips were machined versus a polish and the clear wore off within a year. he had them in hyper black and they "hyper"or the reflective doat they pain on top of the black undercoat was starting to come off in between the spokes. the rivets were odly painted too. he loved the rims for the fact that he hit too many things going 60mph+ head on and never bent a rim. |

QUOTE(chacha @ Feb 20, 2006 - 4:55 PM) could be alignment needed to be adjusted... he has already alligned it, balanced and rotated the tires, checked for bends etc. we did that in boston, then drove down to West Palm Beach and the problem was not fixed. we got everything apart except for the shaft in the tranny. our 1/2" breaker bar split in half taking off the 30mm bolt on the spindle, but we ended up wusing a 5 foot pipe to break it lose. all our pry bars wouldn't get it lose, so he is heading to the store to get another one and try from both sides. i get to take his car tomorrow to go Venice! god i love turbos! on a side note, we also picked up a set of 5th gen mirrors and i'll install those tomorrow before i leave! |

question for you guys. i've got a 94 celica gt, auto, w/o ABS. driving aroung the city, there are no noises except for an occasional knock from the drivers side. i did pull the driver's side wheel off and clamp holding the CV boot on was loose, so i tightened it using the Toyota clamp tool. granted i know i had lost a lot of grease already, so i don't drive it much, i drive my b/f's car. my question is, could this vibration, which is speed sensitive be the driver's side CV? we are going to head out to the pick-n-pull today to grab some 5th gen mirrors, a new intake boot, and a driver's side axle as i did have to drive 1500 miles from boston to West Palm Beach with this problem. so it is probably pretty screwed up right now. i've read the best way to get the axle out is to pull like a mofo, a pry-bar, tire-iron, etc. and i already have a DIY for putting it back in. but any other tips would be appreciated. also, are there any axles from other models that wold fit the same? like a camry, corolla, MR2? thanks in advance. |

problem solved, the internal coil was defective and in it deciding not to work, it shorted out the capacitor/resistor inside the distributor. i went ahead and bought a new distributor and coil this morning, spent 20 minutes putting it back together and it's running perfect now. |

QUOTE(WannabeGT4 @ Oct 4, 2005 - 10:53 AM) http://www.celicatech.com/vfewdsou/1995/95...ric/start5s.pdf Looks like it's either your coil or igniter. Very slim chance that it could be the ECU. I'm pretty sure it's not the starter since it draws it's power from the 60A Main fuse but I guess it could be the starter relay. It couldn't hurt to check your park/neutral position switch as well. Have you taken your distributor cap off and made sure it was clean and dry? i did pull the whole distributor out again and made sure that everything in there was okay on her car... it is all dry, no burns from a short or anything so i resealed it and re-installed it. the internal coil is brand new, but i guess it could be defective... is there a way to test it to see if it is working properly. the igniter, that is located on the firewall on the driver's side if i am correct. i will try and unplug it and try to turn the key over just to see if the short is inside and try and bypass it just to turn the engine over. otherwise, i will go ahead and replace it and try to troubleshoot from there. any other ideas would be appreciated. Chad i've also taken apart the wiring harness in the engine bay, and sealed it better than the factory, so it is completely watertight now, everything has been unplugged and no water or corrosion was in any of the terminals. so i am kinda stumped at the current moment. i do have a rental car for now and my car will be out of the body shop in 2 weeks, just wating on parts from Germany. Thanks again |

i've pulled apart all the ignition and wiring harness on her car and have dried out everything. still the same luck, tried to turn over and blew the am2 fuse. took out the spark plugs and tried with no compression, and still no luck. does anyone know the exact order that the black and orange wire that comes from the back of the am2 block goes to. i am looking for a wiring diagram, so that i can trace the exact components that are associated to that fuse block. we've managed to get a rental to head up to North Carolina for the weekend, so i am no longer in a huge hurry to fix it, but i am not willing to pay a mechanic $500+ to fix the problem either... Any help would be appreciated. |

alright, so here's the deal. i just bought this car about a week ago for my fiance and had some ignition problems. i've replaced the internal coil on the distributor, the rotor, , distributor cap, wires, and plugs. i managed to get the car back to running order and everythign was fine till i decided to clean the engine bay, like i do on eveyr one of my other cars... i didn't bother to tie off the distributor since i just sealed everything up nice and tight, same with the fuse box. everything is more than waterproof now. but, as soon as i sprayed a degreaser in the vacinity between the distributor and the starter, the car shut off and blew the AM2 30amp fuse. i finished cleaning the engine bay and let it dry for 2 days, went out there and replaced the 30 amp fuse and it cranked over twice and blew the fuse again. what could be the problem. i have 3 days to figure this problem out and get the car onthe road for a 10 hour drive for my fiance and myself to go back home to meet the folks. i also have midterms all this week, so help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for everything. for general information, it is a 94 Celica GT, 2200 engine, timing belt replace 3000 miles ago, 121,000 mile on the odo. |
