I've been having this problem for months. Whenever I start up my Celica and travel at low speeds I hear this clicking noise coming from the rear wheels. The noise seems to come and go, but it is only present at low speeds. Once I get above 15 mph the noise will disappear. So far, I'm thinking this is a wheel bearing issue. I've jacked up both sides of the rear and rotated the wheels as if I were driving and both of the wheels make the same clicking noise in the same spot each rotation. Is this a clear indication of a wheel bearing issue? |

If I pull it off, am I gonna be able to get it back on just as flush as it was initially? I would think some of the clips on the plastic will break when I pull it off and it will never fit back on as well, that's my concern....but if that's the only way, I guess that's the way it goes. |

I'm thinking about making a custum sticker for the center brake light. Kinda like this one for a probe.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Probe-...1QQcmdZViewItem I'm just wondering if there is a right way to remove the inside plastic lineing. Does it just pop off? The only screws or bolts I see are inside where you can reach the center brake light. I just don't want to bust anything and nothing really jumps out at me in terms of gently removing the plastic. Thanks for the help. |

QUOTE(XS4lv1Truch0x @ Oct 11, 2006 - 9:28 AM) lol yup i think its normal. i got that little thing too, i wouldnt call it a problem. it just sounds like a clamping noise. obviously thats what the brakes do, they clamp on to the rotor. it happens sometimes, not all the time. its like a "Clamp" short but not really noisy. Yeah, that's essentially the noise it makes. I've never heard other cars make a similar sound, so that's why I was assuming something was wrong. If that's just the way it is....that's the way it is. I also got around to checking my brakes. Both front and rear have well over 50% pad left so it can't be that. I still think my rotors are fine as well because I've been told your steering wheel would vibrate a lot while braking if they were warped. Thanks for the replies. |

I'm more of a reader than a poster around here, but I've got a few problems I can't put my finger on. Firstly, whenever I start up my '95 Celica gt and then I immediately brake there is this clank noise. This happens as soon as I push in the brake and am going at a very slow speed. Oddly enough, after the car warms up, the sound dissappears. Now I haven't checked my brakes in a while, but last time I looked they still were in decent condition; the rotors also look fine to me. My second issue seems to be another cold start problem. Again, while driving at slow speeds, I can hear each rotation of one of the rear wheels. Every rotation there is this clicking noise. Like my first problem, it seems to go away after the car warms up or if I drive at a faster speed. My Celi's got 65, 0000 miles so far....Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreacited. |

Is there any positive experience with these types of mufflers? I know most go with the straight through design, but I know they would be way too loud and not sound the way I would like. I also was considering this because I don't want to lose any low end power by getting a straight through design. Low end is much more important then high end to me. I was thinking about looking into a Dynomax Super Turbo or possibly a Flowmaster. Any input is appreciated. http://www.dynomax.com/superturbo.stm |
