I recently installed a T3/T4 60 trim turbo on my 7afe, but is it normal that it start boosting at 4K revs?
I have a B16 manifold and a 2,5 inch downpipe.
It spools up @ about 3,5K but kicks in at 4K and stops at 6200 when it hits the rev limiter (of course)
Its running @ 0.45 Bar (7psi ?)

Hey,

I've seen alot of guys over here that have build the 7afte.
I'm in the progress of doing it now but when i look at most of the 7afte's
the oil return line is positioned in the oil pan.
Alot of 7afte's have the problem of blue smoke when full accelerating.
I think thats caused because the oil thats returning dont flow free into the oil pan.
Because its already filled with oil, it will eventually go there but not how its supposed to do.
Thats why some oil stays in the turbo and creates blue smoke.

I drilled a hole above the oil pan so its flowing free.
Cant make it quite clearer (im dutch, english is not my best language)

Maybe im wrong but we will see that on sunday (then its running)

I never saw a code, but once I know I got some knock; the car pulls timing so much, it feels like you're pulling a 747. The turbo spools very quick and hard, but you don't go fast at all. Other than that, I never had problems, except breaking a piston at 3 PSI and it was due to some big injectors I had. I am now experimenting more with the engine, and swapping a bigger turbo I never installed, and a custom radiator. The 7A LOVES boost...it's just those rods, man. tongue.gif

Just bought a T3/T4 60 trim, for my 7afte. Think thats big enough? biggrin.gif

does the 7afe have a knock sensor?

Yes, and after turboing my 7afe, i had a fault code on that sensor, after deleting it my car felt much better. I think because it was on safe mode all the time. i believe it was a Code 12 .

Hey, My ecu threw a code 12 i think,

from the beginning: blink, 1.5 seconds, blink, blink, 5 seconds and then again the same.

so its the knock control sensor signal or G signal (is that the same?)

I've never seen a knock sensor that was broken.

anybody else got this code before??

Im busy searching good injectors for my 7afte.
With some info from the sticky's i calculated that i need min. 300 cc injectors.
I found some 7th gen. T-sport injectors on ebay and my question is:

Are these ones Top-Feed, high impendance and around 300 cc???

thnx already...

I have found a Garrett T3 on a dutch kind of ebay site.
I always heard that the trim 60 is the way to go.
Whats the down side of this turbo then or is it also good:

Garrett TB0367(T3) turbo, incl. intern wastegate, turbo-elbow

Specs Garrett TB0367: compressor .42 a/r - turbine .36 a/r

IPB Image

thnx for answering
