ok so i think i fugured out wut was wrong....first of all, the guy i paid to do it used an impact gun, so he made it too toght and so messed up the bearings that go on top of the stock plate. another bonus is that he put one of the springs on upside down, and im guessing thats no good, especially for progressive springs....so, imma buy some bearings n get that fixed. also, im removing the stock plate (big black one) and just leaving the aluminim tophats that came with the kit. thx everyone who replied and sry for bein such a noob. lol. i learn a lot here tho so thx again.

you have to leave the black OEM top hat....

you are getting spring binding more than likely grease the top like crazy with bearing grease...or you completely screw up the install

ya the spring is coiling up and snapping back into place when you turn. sounds like the springs might be too short tho. are you sure you didn mix up the springs

im pretty sure i didnt mix up the springs....they came separated in the box. there were 4 sections all divided up with 1 spring, coilover, and top hat in each section. i couldnt tell which springs went where so i looked at the diagram i was sent (which was crappy) and i could only tell the differences of the tophats. i cant remember if it showed the flat tophats or the ones with a little bump in the front, but i jus went by wut it said. so if i grease the tophats, it should improve? wut kinda grease should i use? and it just seems like the stock plate is too big. iono maybe its jus me...

so then i cann remove it and leave the tophat as the only thing on top of the springs? also does anyone know why the springs pop when i turn the wheels far left and then again when i turn them far right?

ok hold on.. when doing the install you replace the stock strut with the new one and keep the stock top hat that bults to the car. the coilover comes with a threaded tube base, to install you put 2 of the rubber O rings around the base of the shock 1 about .5 inches from the top and the other about 4 inches from the top (where the mettle rod goes in and out.) grese if you want (i did not with no issues) and slide over the threaded tube base it compleatly goes over the strut down to where the bottum hat of the strut is welded to the shock. then the bottum screw bult that goes onto the threded base that gives you the changeable ride hight. then a thin rubber washer sits on that, then the small spring, then another rubber washer and the top hat, then place the stock top hat and bult to shock then bult to car.
grese the rubber washers, and if you want the top hat but I never did and I have no problems (I have kyb-gr2's with Ground control's)

hope that makes sence.

so u kept the large black plate that covers the top of the stock springs? even though it is a lot bigger than the ground control springs? then y does mine make so much noise while turning? it seems to pop if i turn far left or far right. it also seems a little loose because when i lift the car, i can move it(the plate) easily....im stuck

yeah. There is a ring of sorts that needs to be grinded down on the KYB's to allow the ground controls to slide all the way on.

I would make sure the right top hats are in the right location. I believe the flat tops are in front and angled ones are in back.... its been a while since I had mine installed.

so then urs doesnt make any noise?

A cover over the spring? Or the shock? I never had any kind of cover over my springs.

Wait, unless you mean the top part for the clamping? Where the nut bolts the spring down to the shock. Is that what you are talking about?

In that case, are you sure you got the right ground controls? Or did you install the rear springs on the front and vice versa?

that might b wut im talkin about. im sure i got the right ground controls because the first ones i was sent were for a 2000 celica(it said on the sticker on the box) and so i called to get the right ones sent to me. so, they sent me the right ones (94-99 celica). in the box they were divided into 4 sections with a coilover and top hat in each section. i looked at the diagram that came with it and im pretty sure that we put the right ones in the right places. i wasnt sure which springs went where so i looked at where the flat top hats go and where the pointed ones go. im pretty sure we have them in the right places. we had to grind the struts a little bit in the back in order for the coilovers to slide on also. is that wut is usually required?

ok so i already bought my struts and coilovers, but i still need a camber kit befor i put them on. ive seen prices from like 30$ all the way up to ~180$...im not lookin to spend too much if i dont need to and i dont know what a good price for a kit would be. does this kit look decent? or is it too cheap? if this is too cheap or no good, can someone direct me to a good site to get it? thx a lot.

ok so when i order them they ask wut shocks i have. i just bought some kyb gr2's and they are, if im not wrong, just like an oem replacement, just like the stock shocks/struts right? theres an option to choose stock shocks or "kyb". theres also a "kyb agx" option, so i dont know which one to choose because i dont see a "kyb gr2" option. so should i choose the "kyb" (not "kyb gr2") or stock option?

ediy: nvm. i got these

cheap springs are.... well.. exactly that. You'll get a terrible ride from a cheap spring.

i just saw some ground controls for 360$...is that what u paid for em? and did u install everything urself? if u had a shop do it, how much was that?

i'm running 15btdc on 89 octane. i could feel the difference for sure, the ebay header was also a gain.

so then would u say that 15btdc gives the best results? or is that just where u set it at? and also, what is the stock timing supposed to be set at? thx.

a shame its not a 94 or 95, on those engines you can fiddle with the timing to make a little more power. timing advance and the ebay header make a nice little bit of extra zip for pretty cheap.

i have a 95! i eventually wanna swap, but in the meantime, i want a lil more zip. i have an intake and full exhaust already and i heard that advancing the timing or something would help. i also heard that i would have to use a higher octane gas if i did though.....is that true?

so if i do mess with the timing, how much should i advance to get best results? thx.

i've seen one good Gran Turismo video
there were two guys doing tandem runs that were insanely good and close/clean...
other than that, yea...freakin tards.

i can't believe that people make videos of there runs on gt i had a good one thought that if i was dumb enough to record i thought it to be really funny. i was doing a rally race in one of my supras (i know) and i hit a jump and did a 360 in the air landed and kept on going. it was pretty funny
also shouldn't this thread be in the off topic or general 6gc discussion part of the forum?

my bad. sry....
