Hi guys, after years on the forum its time to sell my baby. It's had a long and illustrious life, and has served me well for many years, but it's pretty much at the end of the road. It has 250,000 miles on the clock and is a salvage vehicle. The insurance company totaled it after a relatively minor accident last year, and I have to go through a bunch of hoops to register it. Frankly it's just not worth the time and money it would take to fix it up, just to have a car with 250K miles. It may have high miles and salvage status but it's in good shape overall as you can see below and runs good with no leaks or anything (It's been well maintained). The parts alone have got to be worth something, nevermind the fact that the engine and everything works great. I would probably part it out myself if I had the time and space, but I don't so I have to sell it. Looking to sell to someone in socal who wants to part it out yourself, or maybe use it as a donor or shell for that project of yours. I'm asking $1200 OBO and I can deliver it to anywhere that's reasonably close. Check out my pics! ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros- 4-1 header, D/S brake rotors front and rear: ![]() ![]() Cons- minor front end damage (bumper, headlights and crash bar). Radiator, A/C, and suspension/alignment are totally fine! ![]() Let me know if you're interested, any questions just ask! |

Hi guys, I'm still looking for an emblem. I haven't heard a single word from D-Man for a while so I'm assuming our deal is a no-go. I guess it turns out D-Man was more of a D-Bag (oh I'm just kidding D-Man, lighten up). If any of you can spare an emblem, I'm interested! Thanks. |

Hi all, I was wondering if any of my SoCal brethren are aware of a junkyard that has the 6gc. I have long dreamed of the day when I could peruse the boneyard for sundry sun visors, fasteners, etc. that I don't really need but would be nice to have and I don't want to go to a dealership for. I have searched in vain, but was hoping one of you could point me in the right direction if you've had success. These cars are getting old now, and with all the "I just totalled my celica" threads on here, there has so be some out there. |

^ Other than that you have a leak in your line, condensor, evaporator, dryer, no freon, leak at your refill valve. Honestly, check your freon charge, if it is low - then put some in you can buy it at the store, test your AC, if it is working there you go you now have an idea that your AC does work now what next? now you can also get a leak tester and just scan around the AC lines and the parts I mentioned. Yep, that was it. Turns out I had a leak in my AC condensor. Got it fixed and recharged with refrigerant and it's blowing ice cold, just in time for summer |

Timing would be a problem if the ac clutch only engages sometimes like it gets warm when the idle doesn't kick in the clutch but I dont think that is the case here. I can think of the actual AC switch could be bad. BUUTTTTTT, From my experience I've seen the transistor as the culprit usually < this controls your fan switch which engages your ac. Way to know also is that your high settings on your fan stop working so you use medium and then low until it eventually doesn't work. I'm pretty confident that your transistor is bad. You can also idle your car and open your hood and listen for the clicks from the AC clutch but I doubt you can hear this if you can't even get the switch to work at all. If all toyotas are right, the transistor is under the dash of the passenger side, its pretty small. In general check your AC switch, fuses, transistor (could be burnt or seperated just like a fuse), and besides that we can get deeper into discussion later after you check them. OK, so I have an update. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I also tested the compressor by connecting it directly to the positive battery terminal and it engages just fine with 12 volts. For some reason, the compressor isn't recieving voltage when I press the A/C button, even though the button lights up. You mentioned that the transistor could be the problem, although my fan works fine, even on the high settings. I want to check my transistor, but I don't know where to look. You say its under the passenger dash, but could you be more specific? Also, how do I know if its bad? Thanks. |

Thanks for the advice fellas, I'll start by checking the fuse. You say that its in the engine compartment, but which fuse is it? Is it labelled or anything? How do I know if its bad? |

Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me with this problem. I noticed that my A/C wasn't working, and discovered that the magnetic clutch does not engage when I press the button inside the cabin, even though the light comes on. So I got my digital voltmeter out and checked the wire going to the compressor. There is no voltage going to the compressor with the A/C button on or off, so I suspect a fuse or wiring problem. Do you know where the fuse is for this circuit? Have any of you experienced this problem before? I appreciate any help. Thanks |

Ok guys, I have an update on my situation. It turns out that the hose that connects from the EGR valve to the vacuum modulator popped off, venting exhaust gas into the engine compartment, which explains the "exhaust" sound I heard while driving. Attempting to reconnect the hose only resulted in it repeatedly popping off again. Upon further inspection, I noticed that my muffler is not nearly as loud as it used to be, and in fact there is significantly less exhaust coming out of the muffler than there used to be. Additionally, the exhaust gas has a sweet gasoline smell, which leads me to think that my car is running rich (which explains my poor milage). I suspect that the rich mixture burned up my cat, eventually choking off the exhaust flow (resulting in the power loss) and the increased pressure upstream of the cat backed up into the EGR pipe and blew off the hose (causing the exhaust "leak" I mentioned before). Does this series of events seem plausible to you guys? If so I'm going to need a new cat, but that won't fix anything unless I also get it to stop running rich. Do any of you know what could be causing my car to run rich? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks. |

Thanks guys, I'll look in to all of the above. I've already replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter, but new wires and distributor cap/rotor wouldn't hurt. I noticed my car had an exhaust leak last year when I saw some smoke from under the heat shield during a seafoam treatment, it was never this loud though, and I didn't realize it could cause a power loss. |

Hey guys, I did a search but didn't find anything useful. I've noticed that my '94 GT has been kind of sluggish recently. It takes forever to accelerate, particularly when going uphill, and it kind of sputters/hesitates when I wind it over 3500 RPM. I've also observed that the engine becomes much louder when I put it under a load, almost like a exhaust leak. Anyway, the car idles fine and there is nothing unusual when cruising once I get up to speed. Have any of you experienced this or have any idea what the problem is? I don't have any apparent vacuum leaks, and the compression was great. The car is pretty old though, with 213,000 miles. I'm thinking that I might need new plug wires and distributor cap and rotor, since the ones I have now are presumably the originals. What do you guys think, could this be the answer to my problem? I appreciate your help. Thanks. |

I had a similar leak to the one you're describing. I thought mine was a leak in the oil pan gasket, but it turned out that the oil was leaking from under the timing cover and running down the engine where it was dripping off the oil pan. I ended up replacing the crank seal and oil pump seal, which fixed the problem. If you can see oil coming from under the timing cover, this is most likely your problem. |

I think I solved the problem. I'm sure the battery is fine because I just got a new one, and the alternator was replaced about two years ago. I checked out the alternator and reconnected the electrical plug; it's been fine since. I think the connector might have been loose. Thanks guys, if the light comes back on, I guess I'll have the alternator tested. |

I've noticed recently that my battery light has been coming on periodically while I'm driving my '94 GT. It will come on for a second or two then go away, otherwise the car seems to run great. Have any of you experienced this, and more importantly, does anyone know what it means/how to fix it? Thanks. |
