After 7 years as a 3S-GTE swap, the FWD transmission on my GT crapped out about a year ago. Having started the project late in college, and now being a more seasoned MechE the AWD conversion seemed a little less daunting that it was many years ago. Probably 2 months from being road worthy, but only a little bit of fabrication remains for sway bar brackets and an exhaust.

Saving the more interesting chassis photos for when the work is complete, but here are some scoping shots. The goal is to have a nearly stock looking car with a few subtle perks, including

- TRD full adjustable suspension
- C-One strut tower and anti-roll bars (front and rear)
- Hybrid (ball bearing) CT20B turbo by Fensport, uprated to 1.2 bar (~320 bhp)
- Hand painted brake calipers
- So many new screws, nuts, and hoses that I've completely lost count. Specialized fasteners were replaced with Toyota OEM, while generic fasteners were replaced with class 10.9 steel (McMaster)

OEM WRC Hood/Bonnet Spoiler
As you can see it either needs the paint touched up, or a total re-spray.
Aside from the paint it is in perfect condition with no damage.
I should have the hardware, but will need to take a look.

Looking for 60 USD Plus shipping.
Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.
Paypal fees at buyers expense if preferred.
Open to Offers.

Silly question, but can you show me a picture of what this looks like when installed?

For sale is a set of stock GT alloy wheels and a recent set of tires. The wheels are in OK shape, but have had a long life. The tires are still young, averaging 0.30" in tread depth (the rubber feelers are still on the side walls). They were about $100 each when new, but market price now is down to $65 a piece. These are best suited for the rainy winter months of the PNW. Set includes the full size spare tire.

$200 obo

I have a GT-Four hood and Bumper cover with some damage on them, is anyone interested (Does not include vents, grills, etc.)? I was thinking $130 for the bumper cover and $270 for the hood before shipping.

Exact parts in picture shown, and I'll have them back in hand for present pictures in a few days.

My friend towed my car with the parking brakes on and completely smoked them.... Fortunately I have a spare set from the GT-Four swap, but they are specific to the ST205. I know the Brake calipers are bolt on matches between the ST204 and ST205 (but requiring different discs). This is probably unlikely, but does anyone know if the ST205 parking brakes will fit ST204 discs?

It seems there was a bit of confusion in my question. All of the wiring in my car, short of in the doors and rear lights came out of an ST205. So, swapping the speedo was extremely easy. A direct swap with no need to change any of the wiring.

Has anyone with 3S-GTE conversion and an ST205 cluster tried to swap the GT-Four's speedometer/odometer with a US speedometer?

I'm trying to iron out the bugs on my 3S-GTE swap, one of them I have not figured out yet is how to get the A/C pump to turn on. I've wired the US climate control unit in, and all but one of the wires (A Solid purple, I believe) had a direct match. Now, every knob and switch on my climate control unit functions properly except the A/C on/off switch. Can anyone direct me to a certain diagram and point out where it needs to connect or how to hook up the a/c pump? Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(doGGy @ Dec 1, 2007 - 10:42 AM)

To make it work on the ST / GT - it would take ALOT of wiring, cuz it has totaly different sensors system + all the heater core is controled by motors, and not by simple metal bars. Another thing - cars equiped with Climate control have heat sensor witch sits on top of the dash that messures heat from outside and have sensor witch messures heat inside of the interior. Even havin all the needed wiring - i think it would be basicly imposible to make it work in car without climate control, cuz most of the wiring is integrated in the dash / engine / surrounding wiring.

Theres alot of work even then im converting from RHD to LHD to make the non climate control LHD heater cores to have the motor controls units, to run all the wiring and etc, lots of parts need to be custom made and so on...

It looked awful intimidating at a first glance, but I looked both systems over inside and out for a long while before doing any work on it. All of the sensors and wiring can be swapped with minimal fabrication (just precise cutting) and a fair amount of effort. It's been since August, but I think it was 1-2 full days worth of work (including preliminary assessment) on the climate control system. Now every sensor, motor, fan and other electrical device off the GT4 are in my car, and every wire has a mate. The tricky part which requires fabrication comes in when dealing with one of two stepper motors located directly underneath the central vent box. It does not exist in the US version, but there are reinforced mounted holes in the right spots, just bass ackwards from the RHD version. So, it was my hope to find at least the LHD Auto climate control box (thanks for the information btw, it explains conclusively why a several month search has yielded no result) allowing me to determine the nature of how it controls the stepper motors at which point custom a mounting bracket and most likely connecting arm can be fabricated. Unfortunately, the half-cut I purchased (and now my car) was wired for a climate control unit with two plugs in back, and the climate control unit I purchased (shortly after the clip from the same person) was the standard 1-plug variation. So that's my predicament.

Malecrod; I've tried searching ebay for the past several months without much luck. I've been trying to figure out which countries received the LHD GT-Fours, but have not read anything decisive or credible. Have you seen LHD units on ebay or were they simply the auto climate control for the ST205?

Valo; I'm just looking for the unit which sits directly underneath the radio, so it's not huge in terms of size. The pieces of hardware sitting behind the dash are remarkably similar between the LHD and RHD versions. I was able to strip parts off of my JDM clip and almost have everything I need, the big missing link is the human interface unit.

Playr; If you have an auto climate control unit, I might be interested in it. The other option I have is to buy a RHD unit, cut the brackets and fabricate new ones. The only key is it has to have two plugs in the back, not one. If it does have two plugs, then please send me a pm and we can go from there.

This is a bit of a tall order, but does anyone know where I could find a LHD ST205 climate control unit? Thanks in advance if you have any information.

How urgent is urgent, and how much are you looking to spend? I'm asking because it's probably going to take an hour or so of digging before I can get my hands on it. So I don't want to go through the trouble unless you're dead set on buying it, though it sounds like you are.

nothing at the junk yard, sorry frown.gif

I'd have to dig through my storage unit since I just moved, but I might have a spare from my 3S-GTE conversion, though it is the stock 5FSE mount.

I'm sorry, but tomorrow morning is exactly two weeks from when I had a junk yard come pick it up. You can find it at the Yota Yard (303-292-5078, just North of Downtown on Walnut and 33rd), but I have no idea what they will want for it.

Alright, this is the last call on the engine. If no one gives serious interest by tomorrow morning, I'm taking it to a junk yard.

I'm doing an interstate move at the end of the week and need to get this out of my garage. It has 130,000 miles on it and the clutch has about 60,000 miles on it (replaced when I bought the car). I have an engine hoist, so if you bring a truck or a trailer, I should be able to drop it in. If you throw in a six pack of Guinness or lunch, I'll also toss in the ECU and wiring harness.

I'm at the electrical part of the conversion, and a little stumped at the moment. I have the complete air conditioning systems from both my car (97 GT) and an ST205. I would really like to use the control unit from the GT-Four, but seeing all kinds of differences in their harnesses which seems almost completely different at the white and black boxes behind the dash. Is it possible to wire the ST205's harness to interact with the ST204's hardware or am I just wasting my time? Thank you in advance.

hongkongnerdboy: With the exception of my side indicators (which I will be keeping), all of my lights are clear. If you mean projectors, then no, they are all stock.

cyb593: I do have the door, however, I'm keeping all of the interior pieces on my car since the work I am doing in on the body and engine/drivetrain.

Unfortunately, I can't say what the exact color is. The bumper cover and hood are a little over a year old; they were replaced after a deer jumped out in front of my car and wrecked the originals. As a base price reference, you can get a primed bumper cover from Champion for $185. I'm not expecting to get that much for it, so just send me an offer. If you'd like more detail or pictures, I'd be happy to send them out.

We (wife and I) decided to cancel it after some unexpected occurrences. Thanks for the encouragement, it has been really interesting getting back into it after a several month break.
