QUOTE (crankyelbow @ Apr 8, 2009 - 2:38 AM) *
I stand firmly by:

No harm No foul.

As the autobahn runs... very loose restrictions, go as fast as you desire just be careful with your life as it effects others.

Who cares if you run a red light... if you made it through, obviously you had the opportunity to make it through. Red light or green light, if your paying attention you have a greater chance of making it through. The lights are only a suggestion, its up to the people to obey or not.

Chicago lights are horrible... absolutely horrible. And there are hundreds if not thousands of random "no turn on red" signs. If I can safely go I should be able to go! Forget the color of the light, if its 3AM and nobody is on the road, why should I do more than slow down and check to see if anyone is coming while blowing right on through the red light?

But see... without the camera, its no harm no foul.

With the camera, its no harm big ticket... that doesn't even make sense.

Kinda like the "war" on drugs, how do you totally eliminate someone's freedom and consequently use them for ultra cheap labor while inciting their environment to be EXTREMELY violent... for doing something to themselves?

Stop signs, lights, speed limits... really any sign is just a *suggestion* - a GUIDE to help us navigate the roads safely. We are NOT supposed to be fined or in any way inconvienenced simply for driving our cars down the street!

I've never voted, I don't want ANYONE to represent me... I never signed on to these signs and regulations... I think they are absurd.

I also don't believe in license plates, stickers (even NoS stickers), or licenses to drive. A truly free society cannot include such restrictions... and as long as laws as a whole are place (lets not even throw money into the equation.......) logical thought will not be the driving force behind each and everyones action - someone somewhere is just gonna align themselves with the system and work their way within it... as opposed to deciding for themselves how the world should be and helping to create such a place!

The world doesn't change by thinking "we just gotta stop at the stop lights"...

The world changes when we all realize stoplights are obsolete... let alone those silly cameras, and even further the silly tax applied to not following the silly rules.

you make no sense.. I see what you are trying to explain but your solutions need more thought. Abolition of laws will not be replaced by the people's common sense..never. laws should not interfere with your life if you are "good" citizen to begin with.

I think you'd have something better looking with electroluminescent foil (EL Foil) with a plotter cutted vinyl applied over it.

I owned a WRX, and after driving my WRX and my Friend's supercharged cobalt..go for the WRX.... spinning the front wheels and wheel hopping isn't fun after a while...it sucks so bad that I dont even want to consider any high HP FWD.

And with AWD you'll discover a new love for winter and snow...wish I still had mine. frown.gif

The new/more casual RCMP uniforms look like this...

with navy pants and a gold stripe down them. The red tunics are ment for special ocations or if your part of the musical ride. And yea, some officers ride horses, but like Azain_Advances said, when doing municipal work.

An example of a officer wearing the tunic as an MP at parlament in Ottawa.

The RCMP is pretty much a mix of for the guys in the US, FBI, state troopers, and municipal police. They do policing on a municipal, provincial and federal level. In every province except for Ontario and Quebec, they are used as Provincial Police. Ontario and Quebec have their own provincial police.

And Galcobar you are right about the deatchments. Surrey is the largest detachment in the country fallowed closely by Absotsford i think. But most of the big ones are in the lower mainland.

You make it sound like you know alot about it.

Seriously sir, we need to stop talking so much. I buy an EP, you buy an EP. I think of joinin RCMP, you think of joinin RCMP. You copy cat.

I say go for it dude. Im still on the fence about it, but only thing is, I know u got a house and all, your probably better off sellin it. The info sessions i went to said that after the 24 weeks of training in Regina, you have to spend 5 years at a single posting before you can transfer and chances of moving back out east within thouse first 5 years are slim to none. I say if you are gonna join for sure, lemme know, we will join at the same time and be like the reps for 6GC and EPhatch in the RCMP..lol

laugh.gif I don't remember having a talk about the rcmp with you specifically..do you guys have tons of radio ads recently? I'm def. looking into it and will let ya know, for when? I'm not sure, it'd probably be within the year 2010. The place of work is my main concern, I wouldn't like to be posted in nowhere land in the north for sure, but since I'm french/bilingual, I'd hope they'd leave in in Quebec or the Atlantic..well, that's my reasoning tongue.gif

... The Royal Canadian Mounted Police. For the past..oooh I'd say 6-8 months I've been actively seeking a new career and I'm pretty much sold now on joining the police, it's something I thought before but never really seriously considered it until now. I'm a graphic designer now and I must say this ain't something I want to do until I'm 55, I hate it now I can't stand standing in front of computer for hours and bending over for client's needs isn't rewarding at all.

Anybody has inputs, or somebody they know in the police force? Or thought about joining the badge? I know some of you guys have no respect for them, shut it please. tongue.gif Its not all police officer's who's patroling the roads. biggrin.gif

This upcoming april me and the GF and another couple are jumping in the civic and driving all the way down 3000 KM from Moncton to Orlando where we got a condo rented for 5 nights. This will be the first real "sunny vacation" for all of us. biggrin.gif

Click me for the trajectory

We'll be visiting disney for 2 days and the other 3-4 days after we're pretty much debating where we'll spend the time. I browsed the internet a bit for places to get for lack of a better way to find stuff to do.

We want to go to the beach, so far I found that Cocoa Beach and the Pier would be a good place to go, not that I did much research...any other beaches would be more suitable?

We're looking for anything else worth taking a look, or spend nights at (night clubs, etc..) Anybody who has suggestion just post it! biggrin.gif

Halifax looks like a cross between San Francisco and St. John's Newfoundland. wink.gif

How much snow have you had this year? tongue.gif

about average... 230cm 'til now, but more snow staying on the ground. we usually get rain right after the snow, but it's been colder this year. according to environment canada there is an average of 9cm of snow on the ground for feb but this year there is an average of 24cm. noticeably more when you have to find somewhere to put it when you shovel the driveway.

How bad is the snow in NS? Here in moncton my driveway is litteraly a valley...I think I should take pictures... tongue.gif In my opinion right now we just had as much snow as last year's storms..its 'insane

an inspection isnt going to tell its previous history though...i think he wants to know if the car has been hit, or in any accidents befor... carfax is reliable...its just not going to tell you that you need to change your brakes wink.gif

What? I beg to differ! A good mechanic will know if a car has been in an accident, geez even I can tell if a car has been resrprayed or fixed up. Carfax relies on information given to to them - they don't go out and look for it, quite simply if a certain insurance company don't send their info to carfax the car will look as if it was never accidented - that's a big let down.

Also company only reports their data at certain time, so you can buy a "clean" carfax car, and then 2 months later re-check it and it will show an accident, because the reports are delayed..I do NOT call that reliable at all.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007...rfax_class.html

http://www.helium.com/items/641210-carfax-...ying-a-used-car

All I'm saying, get a mechanic inspect the car carfax or not. Carfax is garbage if used as the only way of knowing the history of the car.
