Have a boot cover in mint condition and a pair of "new style" top motors. Located Detroit Metro, prefer not to ship cover. PM me with questions or offers. Interested in the "new style" top motors. How much are you asking (including shipping to ZIP 95361) and do you have pics of the motors as well as a closeup of the label, just to make sure? |

Looking for some clean undamaged side skirts. White would be nice but let me know what you have. Shipping to Texas, 75154, or local pickup. There's a white GT 'vert at a local junk yard that still has the skirts. I can take a look the next time I'm there and act as the broker if you want. What's your price limit |

Left work yesterday, and the car died 4 seconds after the check engine light come on. I am looking for a new distributor since mine is overheating. Does anyone have a semi-used one, or know where to get one at a decent price? Always recommend Rock Auto. I am assuming you have the 1.8. Here are the distro options for the 1.8. Beware, you get these really awesome car magnets with each order and you might find yourself getting hooked into collecting them like myself and so many other people |

actually you can ground anywhere you want in the car. any point in the engine to chassis. i made several It's already attached on the chassis, I just need to figure out where on the engine this thing goes. I'm thinking the circled area in pic 1 - just need to figure out the bolt size. Maybe 12mm? |

So I was changing out my light bulbs and noticed that I have a ground that's, well, not actually doing any grounding. Here is what I'm talking about. Does the ground attach to the red-box indicated bolt, a la here? Would one of you 6G people take a look under your hood and take a pic as to where it goes? Also, if you would be able to tell me the size of the bolt, that would be great. I can't find it in the Haynes OR Chiltons manual. Thanks in advance! --- **EDIT:** Did a search for the 5S-FE engine and Wikipedia (of all places) has a decent pic of the engine bay with the ground actually attached. If you look at the first pic in this post (reminder), does this ground go between the engine support hook and the underneath mount or under both? |

Alright guys, as I'm getting closer to getting rid of my black vert, I figured I'd offer up parts if anyone needs them. So, if you're looking for coupe/vert parts, let me know! Do you have the convertible top motors in working condition? And the rear view mirror (my tab thingie doesn't tab). |

Hi, Does any know the part numbers of any Toyota double-din stereos that will work in a 94' gt? When i bought my GT it had a Pioneer single-din with blue lights strobing back and forth. Has anyone used a double-din from a different model or year? Thanks for any help you can give. Here's an album of the OEM stereo I have in my 6G. CD Player label transcription: 08601-00852 Model: 113001-3900A151 Tuner / Tape Player label transcription: 86120-2B510 Hope this helps! |

Replaced the front and rear motor mounts on my 98 vert. What a bitch. I ended up calling my mobile mech to finish since it was such a pain. But night and day difference now. But last week, I got a new top put on. Car looks 5x better. I also ordered both driver and passenger rear window mounting plates and will be putting those on in a week or two. Next up: timing belt (and associated parts) replacement, exhaust manifold gasket replacement, and new vert top motors. Does anyone know / have basic schematics on how to adjust the top? |

I've been waiting until the weather got better to attempt mine, but from what I've seen / read, the EASIEST way is to remove 1 or 3 bolts from the cross beam underneath (subframe?) that's covering the rear mount and swing it out of the way. Here's a vid this guy did a while back. I'll take a look and see if I can locate the other really good vid I saw a while back. If you can take, vids for the rest of us who are going to do this. Pleeeaasseee. |

Here are pics of the stereo currently in my 98 GT convertible. If the radio I got from njccmd2002 works, I'm going to be swapping it out as an "upgrade", so to speak (trying to keep as much as stock as possible). The power antenna on the radio does the "go up when only the radio is active and goes down then there's a total power down or output other than stereo is selected" thing. And here's it on video (when I installed it after taking the ugly aftermarket out). For info, my car also has the deluxe, ultra-special, premium, 8-speaker sound system with the fancy, ultra powerful, amps. If you look closely, you'll see new speakers - that was a project I did a while back, replacing the four in the front and the two in the rear. MUCH better sound. |

Hmmm...I would love to do this, but I think the convertible visors are smaller and the non-convertible ones. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

Joy. I figure I can do the front, left, and right but that rear looks like a pain in the ass. Any tips on doing these? |

Hey y'all - I think I've figured out why Ms. Boo Wilkins is shaking so bloody much at idle (and in gear) ... engine mounts! yay. I'm about to order, but need confirmation that the 98 has three: one in the front, one on the front right, and one in the back near the firewall, correct? I don't have my repair manual readily available so I can't look it up...and my Google-fu isn't working. Any tips on doing the rear one? I've read that that's the one that gives the most trouble. Next up will be to adjust the timing belt since she sounds like a TDI followed by figuring out why the AC whines when accelerating (when on) and then replacing the top. |

Terzin, if you haven't solved this problem, let me know. From what you describe, you and I are kindred spirits. njccmd is on the right track - the latch is at fault. If you look at the latch from the top facing the engine, there is a lever (for lack of a better term) to the right and slightly underneath the opening of the latch. You need to push that back in if it's still in the "Open" position. A solid flat-head or needlenose is perfect for pushing it back. It might be stuck well, so gauge and effort as needed. Take close-up-ish pic of your latch looking from above and leaning slightly towards the right (the driver's side) if you can't decipher what I'm talking about. Once that piece re-engages, you should be able to close the hood. |

Are you saying the light comes on but you can't actually get the car to stay at your set speed? If you're not getting any codes, it might be mechanical - failure of the CC actuator. But we need more info on year, etc. |

Imgur is now my go-to and I recommend it highly. You can put your pics in a scroll-able album and link said album. Just make sure you upload to your own album and not to the general forum. |

For sale are my OEM leather seat covers. They are used but in nice shape. Seats are not included. Only the actual covers for the seats and the head rests. Pictures were taken right before they were removed from seats to be reupholstered. $175 Shipped OBO! Quick Q: were the covers actually reupholstered or are they in the condition in the pics? |

I plan to get the back seat and rear plastic panels removed this weekend so I can check things out. As the windows work fine (smooth up and down) I was hopeful it might just be an adjustment to get things lined up better. Hey Cosa! Did you get a chance to poke at the rear window? I'm going to poke around on my vert as well. I've noticed that the left rear window, when all the way up, is compressed. If I put it down just a hair, it lines up perfectly. I'll post pics later. Also, your roof latches - do they sit flush with the groove at the roof thing? |

Funny enough, I was also thinking about replacing the top on my vert. And double funny enough, Autozone had instructions! Now to decide...cloth or vinyl? |
