I am also really curious in exactly what I would need. I am finding it near impossible to even find a clip for sale anymore, so I am going to have to just buy an engine. I have read on earlier threads that it would be near impossible to do the swap without the clip because of the missing parts. How much truth is there to that?

Ya, the body is fairly clean. If you just glanced over the car, you would think it was rust free. Its when you crawl underneath. Like JMK was saying, the underside is a mess. What states would you guys suggest? I know the obvious ones like Arizona, but how is the south? I have heard the southeastern coast can be bad because of the salt in the air. I just want a clean rolling shell or a car with a blown motor that I can work with. I'm tired of having to get covered in rust every time I crawl underneath my car. I want whatever car I be to be as complete as it can be, but I don't care if the motor is bad or even a little body damage because I have my car now where everything is fine(except the rust underneath).

So... I live in Minnesota which is hell on my Celica. My body is not too bad in terms of rust, but the underside is getting pretty nasty. I am struggling to find motivation to do anymore to my car knowing how rusty it is. I am looking for either a rolling shell or a car that does not run. The body does not need to be in great shape, just rust free. I am not looking to pay more than 800-900. I just need a solid body that I can swap everything over to.

**Update**

So I pulled the ECU and it was toast. We just replaced the ECU today and it will fire and start but then it dies immediately. This is the first time it has fired in a long time so I am optimistic, just wondering if anyone has any ideas why it would die immediately. I think it might be a fuel issue but I am not sure.

So I am posting on behalf of my dad. We recently purchased a 95gt(2.2L) and it has some starting issues. It starts incredibly sporadically. Some days it will start, other days it won't at all. I am getting good cranking, and spark is the issue here. We have hooked up a gauge to test for spark and when it gets spark it will start. Sometimes we hook up to check for spark and when there is no spark and it won't start. We have replaced the distributor, igniter, plug wire, fuel pump and timing belt. The CEL is throwing code 12 if that helps. We honestly can't figure this out, we took it to a mechanic and he said we needed a new distributor, so we replaced it and it started right away, but now only a few days later its back to the same problem of inconsistent spark. If anyone has ever encountered this or has any ideas it would be awesome!

I'm around! Just made a trip to East Chicago to buy a 97 Hatch. It's going to be quite the project...
