well everyone it was a fun ride while it lasted. My car burst into flames on I-5 just coming into tigard oregon... flames totaled the engine bay, gutted the intererior and the firemen punched several holes in the hood and fenders to get the fire completely out.

someday i will replace it but it will probably be a little while.

I will post up some pics when i can

go buy a 15$ "speed bleeder kit" if you are trying to do it yourself, that way you don't suck a bunch of air back into the system when you release the pedal. ot spend about 50$ and buy a vaccum bleeder kit so you don't even have to use the pedal...

This shouldn't be, because I compared it to the stock alternator, and it's WAY bigger than the stock alternator. Anyways, even if it were not pumping the full amount of amps when idling my battery still wouldn't die, would it?

If the alternator is putting out less than the vehicle is requiring then it will drain the battery because the alternator isn't keeping up. If your alternator is putting out 9 volts at idle it is not putting out enough because the vehicle is a 12 volt system. the capacitor is a temporary fix but only for low bass notes in your system. bring the alternator into an auto parts store and have it tested under load, they can tell you if it is putting out ample power.

When I installed my "high Output" alternator I also upgraded the battery and did the "big three". under load my alternator is putting out between 12.7 and 14.8 volts at approx 130 amps, at idle...

sounds like you either got a bad Alternator... or you got and alternator that is only high output when revving high. a lot of the "high output" alternators put out below factory at idle but higher as the engine revs.

If I understand correctly you are wanting to use your computer as a receiver/processor? if so most of the Sound Blaster cards have built in audio processing capabilities. its simply a matter of feeding the sound card a digital level signal input. RCA is effective but ideally you would want ieee94 (firewire) wich is slightly better than HDMI...

Soundblaster also makes an external Audio Processor that will cary up to an 8.1 HD audio signal.

i'd like aluminum because they don't rust and they are light (LTW ftw).

~5-9 dollars per box of 25 depending on size

and extremely easy to strip... even vibration can cause aluminum threads to wear down...
