I'm looking at the 7A harness. That's where my BEAMS engine harness ends and my 7A chassis harness begins. We're supposed to bridge the wires after the box I thought... When you said "When you remove your old engine, you'll see a large gray plug in the fusebox under the hood. This is the EA1 plug." I assumed it was the plug still in the car, correct? |

Lol, yes I did that. The wiring harness is all extended. I can't believe the newb mistakes I made earlier... Learning experience for sure lol ![]() Just an FYI for ST swappers; The Throttle cables are not the same and hard to find(In Canada at least). I will have one in 2 weeks and it will be golden. This engine sounds mad and can not wait to test her out. I should start a build thread and post all the other mods I've done/ am doing. Thanks for your help everyone! |

Has anyone ran into the issue of not having pins 17 or 12 on their ae1? In that case would I be able to bridge it before the connector on the other side? Or should I add a pin to those? |

So you're saying I can swap my rack over(obviously) but change the inner and outer tie rods to make it compatible with the superstrut setup? That thread was a little confusing... The first guy just swapped everything, and others needed to fabricate tie rods... It all seemed straight forward at first... I will wing it and see where it goes. A question about extending the harness... Did you use all the same gauge of wire when you extended it or did you match the wire sizes? I got 16 gauge Primary wire but these look something like 18-22. |

Thanks for the info richee3. The fuse box is in tact and cut right at the bottom of it, I will add the pic when I get home tonight. I've got the entire front suspension system for the superstrut, so wouldn't it bolt right up? I was hoping to just throw it all in subframe and all... |

I picked up my engine yesterday, and noticed they cut the wiring harness under the under hood fuse box. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the BEAMS fuse box? Also, regarding the part numbers, here in Canada Toyota can't find anything regarding the Beams Red-top. None of the part numbers work, but I'm talking to a guy who specializes in JDM RHD swaps. I'll post my findings on the Canadian part numbers when I get them. In the meantime, anyone know off the top of their head if the upper timing cover on the 5S fits on the Beams? Thanks |

say it is feasible to put this in, you could use the 90's Mustang Rack like in the other thread, and possibly us the Toyota Altezza Lexus IS300 SXE10 setup with the black top. That would (I think) be a good way to go about it. I'm considering trying this myself, but am not sure about welding the tranny tunnel to make room. I'd start with this: http://www.japandirectjapanese.com/product...at=2&page=1 Make adjustments as you go... Move the fuel tank, etc... |

Yeah, I read that article. Does explain some things regarding wiring, however I'm a little unclear of how much that thread applies to an At200... Am I the only one dumb enough to try this swap? Or does someone on here know what I'm about to go through. I specifically need info on where the s mounts are compared to my a series mounts, and if the rest of my harness will comply. I'm going to need the gauge cluster for the Beams, and looking up the wiring for the swap isn't hard for me since I apprenticed at a Toyota and have some friends there. I would like to have this pass emissions though, so is there a piggyback or standalone Toyota drivers use to overcome this issue? Something similar to Hondata perhaps? |

Hi, new to the forum and can not find all the info I need for the swap I'm about to do. I have an AT200 and am swapping a beams redop in. My questions mainly have to do with Motor mount placement and wiring differences. I want to know how different the mounts are from a series to s, and how different the wiring set up will be. I have a full engine, tranny, engine harness, Ecu, all the pumps, axels, knuckles including the brake booster and master cyl( though I doubt I will need them) and suspension all around. More items, basically a front clip... Anyone actually do this type of swap and can let me know what the mount issue is and how much wiring I will be re-routing? Thanks |
