Wow I have the exact same problem you do... I went to school then drove home and when I went to go back to school I could start the car in neutral but not put it into gear and if I started it in gear the car would shoot forward. Its clear to me that I need a new clutch but i don't know if I'm mechanicly inclined enough to do it myself |

one of my celicas is corked dyno matted and foam insulated. Don't hear much road noise, but I still hear that 3sgte. As for my St I'm going to see what I can go with about $50 worth of foam and $50 worth of cork.... it should be silent |

I got one of those diesal audio doubple din head units for 300 bucks. It worked alright, but the thing was trash. It gui was like from the 80's and things were organised terribly. THe only thing that was decent on it was the DVD player. So i ended up just giving that away and playing a **** ton more for a pioneer Avic Z-3. I love this thing, but I really wish I would have just went straight away and just bought it first. |

yeah I was CAMA has it right. Hydrogen is an excellent form of fuel. I Intern over here at pratt and whitney and our rockets are hydrogen fueld. And the idea for hydrogen fueld cars have been around since the 50's. The problem with this set up is it takes more energy to turn the water into the gas than the energy you'll get out of it so yea the hydrogen will combust in the engine but you are workign the altenator a bit harder to produce this HHO gas so in the long run i'm pretty sure your gas milage decreases. Further more a lot of these units run off vac lines and the way they are set up most of the HHO gas is sucked into the engine at idle when the engine needs it the least. |

Wait, you already have a battery in the trunk you said. Did you relocate the one from under the hood back there or do you already have 2? And how much power are you running? Have you tested your current draw to see how bad you are "straining" your alternator? The most my system ever pulled was about 70A when I ran 2 15's and 2400 watts. My alternator could only put out 60A so my stereo would go into protection mode and shut off due to voltage loss if I ran it at about 145 dB for more than 30 seconds. Do you run your system maxed out often enough to warrant an extra battery? Do you already use a stiffening cap? I am currently running 2 1200 Watt sony explode amps and 1 punch 300 watt amp. I'm also upgrading the wire from the altenator to the battery. I'm thinking 4 ga wire will do but maybe i should spend the extra cash and go 1 ga |

I have yet to install the optima but i had this bosch platinum there before and while i never checked the draw on the altenator, the cap would sometimes go as low as 10 volts when i have the ligts on and stereo pounding. I don't know what u mean by stiffening cap, but I only have a 1 farad cap at the moment and my audio installer was telling me that a possible solution would be to install another battery |

I currently have an Optima Yellow top in the trunk of my car on the driver side. My adio installer thinks That my car would greatly benifit from the use of multiple batteries. Now I don't know too much about runing a duel battery set up. He seems to think that I should buy another optima yelowtop and and put it on the passenger side of the trunk. I don't that doing multiple batteries is a bad idea infact I was the one who asked him how i could reduce some of the extra strain on the alternator from putting the battery in the back. What I would like is some advice. Should I put another deep cycle battery in the trunk? maybe a red top? should I just get a small lawn mower battery and put it right up against the altenator? Suggestions? |

I took my car to one of those do it yourself washers. There they had this engine cleaner stuff. It said spray it on for 2 min and then use the high pressure hose to wash it off. I had let the car sit for about 10 min, but i guess not long enoguh for the engine to really cool, but once i put the money in I had to rush cuz i only had 10 min (which was bull**** because the sign said $5 for 20 min and I only got 10) anyway yea the engine and turbo must have been really hot becasue this stuff was just vaporizing, but i eventually got a good layer down and went on washin other parts of the car before comming back and hosing it all off. I then washed the rest of the car (had to put in 5 more dollars for another 10 min!). Then I saw an attendent complained about the false advertisement and he basically gave me some bs and told me to try it again, but I told him I already lost 10 dollars and he basically said "sorry dude." So now I'm pissed and totally forgot to dry off the car and engine, but It had been sitting there for a little bit while i argued. Anyway, the car starts up a little slow, but starts up and I think everything is fine till I hit the road. I notice that my car isn't getting any boost pressure and having trouble going over 3k rpm. I think maybe I knocked a hose loose becasue this is exactly how it acted when I knocked an intercooler pipe loose. Anyway when I get home I can't find anythin and I have my neighbor look while i rev the engine and he swears he heard a knocking sound comming from my turbo, but I don't really believe him because I don't see how any of this could cause any shaft play and I think he was jsut hearing the shaking of the exhaust (the motor stars to shake terrible when i try to get it over 3k) But yeah dpes anyone know what the problem might be? Oh and to top it off my apartment complex decided to cut the grass this morning (not sure why because most of it is dead) and yea now my car is covered with grass and then it rained a bit later this afternoon. So basically I payed 12 dollars to mess up my car. I just hope its not that bad. |
