It's Been Awhile since I've been around but i brought this up back in May and was wondering if any newly developed thoughts have been conjured up. I own an informational website about the 3S-GE Beams Engine. Although I don't advertise, I actually get a lot of traffic to the site. So my question is, are you allowing advertising and if so, what's the prices? I was just thinking of maybe a banner somewhere on your site. A little about the site........ The site I built is for information gathering and displaying only to help the rest of the Beams community. I do not sell parts nor do i have intentions of selling parts (or making any kind of profit off the site). I don't care if you have a celica, MR2, or anything else you might think of to put the engine in, I just care if you have a beams The reason im asking you, is the 6G site suprisingly has a lot of talk about the Beams Engine. I think by linking our sites together somehow, the knowledge would be combined and we can get a working structure on the Beams engine since information in English is extremely limited. You guys also might notice that there is a 6GC banner in the links page, i forgot who gave that to me but one of you did. (thanks again) Anyway, if you guys are interested in having a Beams Banner on your site, let me know, and perhaps we can work something out. - Phoenix www.Beams-Redtop.com |

thanks, i figured no worries, just wanted to ask before doing it and then getting in trouble When you get advertising going (if you get it going), let me know. Maybe we can work something out with the Beams Website and maybe a couple others. |

thanks guys for the comments on the site, its a work in progress and if you feel like sharing personal engine specs (if you have a beams), please feel free to do so in the forums so others can learn more about the beams. Im working with a few people from australia and new zealand who are owners to get more information so if you have any, feel free to let us know. Its a community site and without the community, the information wont get collected and displayed. Coomer - Im ready for a banner when you are |

thanks coomer, i think im looking for 400 X 60 pixels. defgeph - Im working on the BGB for the Beams. Im following a lead for the grey-top engine with the possibility of a manual being produced for that engine english. Then figuring out the differences between the 2 engines ( so far, just ECU tuning because the grey-tops run automatic trannies only). If i cant get that info, i can go to my local toyota dealer and get the manual in japanese and slowly pay for the translation with the donations i get from the site. Course, im looking at 10 bucks a page. Which i would start with stuff like timing belt and torque specs. Wayno - I like your site, nice graphics. I on the other hand am horrible at graphics. Are you going to put a Beams section on your site? I know of nothing about the celicas except of course, the 5S-FE and 3S-GTE Engines. I can ask my buddy though who is located down under, he might know, they have more beams down there than most countries (except japan coomer, do you guys do any cross promotion with other websites? Such as do you advertise banners and stuff? |

So i went down to TRD today to pick a few items up. Out of curiosity i checked about cams, and found that they had the beams redtop cams in stock, and had plenty of them, but havnt sold any in awhile. Im gonna bring my boss down there one of these days to confirm since i dont speak japanese, but if your interested in a set, they go for about $1100 to $1200 depending on exchange rate. i dont mind picking a set up for someone if they are serious about getting them. No, i dont want compensation. Its one of those things where ill do it since im there. Shipping would cost me about $15 bucks to the states, and of course you would need to add that. this isnt the thread though to do this kind of stuff, so ill start another thread once i find out if they really do have it or the guy was looking at the SXE10 stuff. |

The threads are different questions about the beams engine. I deleted my original post here and merged it with one of the other beams threads which both will stand as they are unless a moderator or admin feel they need to be combined. As of now, i will do nothing to them. Feel free not to post if you dont have any relevant information for me. thank you for your time CelicaZR - I have a RWD, check my siggy |

In my vast search for information, i have a question. Aside from the blacktop having dual VVT-I and the Redtop having single (intake) VVT-I and the intake manifolds, What is the difference between the two engines. Reason im asking is im looking for parts, and found plenty for the blacktop, but not the redtop. Will a BGB for the Altezza blacktop be the same (aside from the differences) for the Redtop? Im looking for a book with Torque specs and small things like timing and general mechanical information, like if i cant find where a vacuum hose goes or something. The redtop never came in the Altezza did it? Thanks for the help in advanced. |

Thanks for that info, i might just head down to toyota tonight and see if i can figure out a way to ask them. Its a pain trying to converse with japanese people when you dont speak japanese. A wiring manual......would you consider selling it or selling me a copy? Or sending it to me and ill send it back to you. I know im new to this forum, but i have good reputations on both the MR2oc.com and the MR2board.com. In fact, im an administrator for the the MR2board so you know where to find me if i dont make good on my end if you do send it to me. |

according to the link above, those cams are for the BlackTop Dual VVT-I. Will the Intake Cam for the Blacktop fit the Redtop with no Modifications? Also, will the exhaust Cam fit in the redtop, i know its not dual VVT-I, but will it run fine even with a VVT-I cam without an exhaust VVT-I sensor thing (or whatever runs it). I will be using the APEXI EMS from bathboy er whatever they are called, Which cam duration would you recommend that will also allow to keep my car as a daily driver with no rough idle? So can these still be ordered from TRD? The TRD Tama is about a 20 minute drive for me. |

Wow, those really are aggressive. From what i found out from the Aussies, TRD did make a VVT-I Cam, and actually had about 5 different durations. They actually posted them but i cant find it again, and those guys are not too nice to americans with crazy ideas so i dont like going there. Thanks for the info so far I know that the ITB's, Exhaust Manifold, and i think the headgasket fit the Redtop |

After many, many weeks of researching. I found that TRD did make limited edition Cams that is VVT-I compatible. Unfortunatly they are not being made anymore and finding a new set is impossible, heck....i cant even find a used set. Anyway, on to the question, does anyone know what TRD offered for Cam durations and lifts for the 98-99 Beams Redtop? Finding information in english is becoming a pain. |
