True enough. Just look at every Ricer.
It's interesting to examine the motivation behind a lot of car builds. Just ask the question "why"?
90% of the time it's insecurity, delusion or OCD issues and there's been plenty written about it.
If people spend more time building than they do driving they have it ass-backwards.

Ahh...the best thing about being 50 years old is that you don't have anything to prove anymore. No need to show off, no need to race, nothing to prove to anyone and I'm happy in my own skin. Got all of that out of my system years ago.
My '95 has a stock 5F and it's got plenty to get me where I want to go comfortably and with a bit of style. I've got no desire to raise eyebrows with "the law" and no need to risk the huge fines.
My Celica is plenty of car as it is. If it wasn't I'd buy something else smile.gif
Here's an old man tip: enjoy what you have...it makes life SO much easier and enjoyable!

Hi Guys, hope you can help.

I'm trying to find photos of a stock engine bay on a Right Hand Drive ST204.

Mine's been messed with over the years, things changed, removed etc so I have no reference to work with.
If any of you could upload some pics or email them to me that'd be a huge help!
I'm only looking for standard stock ones so I can find out what's missing on mine, where hoses and cables should be routed correctly...that kind of thing.
The more detail the better!
Mine's a 5F-SE 5 speed, no ABS.
Very much appreciated!

Lol at the racers!! What i did on my car to supply 12 is to run a wire from the 100a fuse to the fuse that needed energy with thick wire.

Thanks! Hey, how come your wiring doesn't have cuts, electrical tape, wires coming out of it that run nowhere, the smell of fried plastic....?? LOL.
I'm sure the previous owner of mine had the dealer option installed called "ASS-CLOWN"!

Hi guys,
I'm new to the site and this is my first post, really hope you can help.

Just got a '95 SX 2.2 5 speed that's had a pretty hard life (thanks to previous owners being young boy racers - no offence to all you young boy racers).

My issue at the moment is the 'ol "no dome light" problem and I've completely gone thru all the old posts to see if any relate to my problem but no luck. The '95 I have has been messed around with over the years and has had some BAD "mods" done to it which I'm trying to correct. It's had bad head unit installs, bad alarm installs, bad amp and sub installs etc etc. I've spent the first week I've owned it removing a bunch of surplus wiring (RCA's, amp and sub power) which wasn't connected to anything but once was. In the kick panels there's evidence of former cut and spliced wiring and also some kind of fire, going by the melted plastic on the fuse and relay holders and junction boxes. Did I mention it's has a hard life??

In a nut shell there is no 12v feeding my interior lights. Here's what's not working:
- Main dome and map lights OUT
- Door ajar light on dash OUT
- Red lights in door trim OUT
- Luggage compartment light OUT
- Ring around the key OUT
Clock out - probably unrelated.
I know all of these run on the same circuit. I know it could possibly be the integration relay behind the kick panel.

I DO have working instrument lights, cigar lighter works, blinkers and hazards work etc.

I'm a 50 year old former electrical fitter and have been restoring cars since the 80's, so I'm pretty knowledgeable and handy but have my limits.

I've metered the circuit and it's dead. The 10A fuse under the hood is GOOD but there is no 12v supplying it AT ALL which is obviously the culprit.
The advise I need is how the wiring is physically run from the battery to the fuse in the engine compartment as someone sometime has probably cut into it or badly spliced it..or burnt it or chewed it...whatever!

I've checked all the wiring diagrams I can find and although they show plugs to the kick panel set up none I have are labelled showing me the wire that runs from the battery through the kick panel, back to the fuse and then on to the door switches etc (if that's the way it works?).

I'm thinking I may have to bypass the existing 12v supply and run 12v straight to the fuse even as a way of testing it.
Anyway any input you guys might have would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Darren
