Ok so i have read the write up by nik , ive read it a few times in fact but there seems to be some information missing ,
What ecu did he use? what size injector and also what is the hose with what looks like 6x one way valves on it for?
can someone please clear this up?

http://www.6gc.net/images/howto_photos/128_60.jpg

thanks.

Hose with 6 check valves = to bleed off boost so the MAP sensor/ECU doesn't freak the hell out. The OEM MAP sensor you have is not capable of "reading boost", it can only do vacuum to -25psi or so and up towards what is known as "atmospheric pressure", which is often erroneously displayed as "0psi". Normal atmospheric pressure is 1bar / 14.7psi (at sea level), so the "0psi" on your boost/vacuum gauge is actually 14.7 psi.

When I decided to force-feed my lazy 5S-FE, I choose to use a 3S-GTE MAP sensor and larger injectors (MK3 Supra NA 315cc injectors part #23250-70080, double check this part number for accuracy) with the OEM 5S-FE ECU and an upgraded 255lph fuel pump. No need to screw around with a bunch of check-valves to bleed boost pressure from reaching the MAP sensor. Which is just about the simplest way you can deal with boosting this engine. I wonder if the 7A-FE engine can deal with a similar setup using a MAP sensor from a turbocharged engine...

Puretone has this BBK on his ST184 with tC wheels. I don’t know how the 5th gens compared to the 6th gen in terms of offset and clearance but I don’t believe he has spacers on his car. I have 15 mm spacers, so I’m effectively 17x7 +30. I was concerned that I would need to get 20 mm spacers to clear these brakes but I have plenty of clearance. I think you should have clearance on your current setup, but I think anything less than +35 may have issues.

Indeed. I didn't even need to touch the FUEL PUMP in order to fit this kit.

My kit from Revolution Brake: http://store.revolutionbrake.com/14-0016.html
Wheels are OEM Gen 1 Scion TC
No spacers, neither front nor rear.
Stainless steel braided brake lines front & rear.
I have no front/rear brake bias issues at all, keep in mind a 1992 GT Convertible weight distribution is significantly different from a Liftback/Coupe. Rear rotors are some StopTech-sourced units with EBC pads
As for tyres, I'll have to get back to you guys on that one with the *exact* size specs...I've been separated from my BEAMSica for a while & I lacked the foresight to have written those numbers down correctly.
I have NO real rubbing issues with the tyres. I did do a 3-ish mm fender stretch ages ago using the universally accepted ghetto-tech method. I've had a scrape once or twice, but under extreme conditions...left or right front wheel at full suspension compression, nose-down on an angled descent. Plastic inner wheel-well cover got it's decade worth of grime somewhat cleaned off. A benefit in my book. This is with Eibach springs and a Kayaba/KYB shock absorber setup of my own hacked-up design...the combo gives the same usual 1+ inch or whatever drop in suspension.

The only other "mod" I made to my setup was to replace the wheel studs. They had been there since the car left the factory in 1991 and I felt my girl was due some proper wheel/hub jewelry. ARP longer wheel studs (the knurl is the same as a Mitsubishi EVO8 or something) and Mishimoto aluminium lug nuts. I would not be surprised if this stud/lug combo saves about 1 pound per wheel, which is A Good Thing.

One of my fuel injectors in spewing out gas, i replaced the seals and o ring with some off a mr2 turbo. And one of the injectors is still spewing out. I think the injector is bad. Can i also use the mr2 turbo injectors them self?

Alright, what in the HELL is going on here?????

First off, what engine is are these injectors in? RedTop / GreyTop or BlackTop BEAMS? I'll take a wild guess it is a Red/GreyTop? Seeing how this is the 6GC forum...

There is no way in hell you'd be able to use injectors from any MR2 Turbo on a BEAMS engine. The O-rings, top & bottom, are significantly different in design in their own right, and the injectors they are for are even more significantly different. Not only will the ECU not be able to make heads or tails of them, their impedance is different, the way they are fed is different, the way they seat is different, the fuel pressure they are designed to operate at is different and the volume of fuel they are designed to flow is completely different too. Not to mention that the spray pattern is totally different too. (Anti-flame statement: don't any of you dare say that the spray pattern of injectors is not important. Do your research on the topic. Toyota/Denso as well as all the other injector manufacturers spend millions upon millions of Dollars/Euros/Yen/Seashells on injector R&D...not just for sh!ts & giggles either.)
RedTop BEAMS injectors are *supposed* to be in the 360-380cc range. I say *supposed* because in my own personal wtf-is-up-with-BEAMS-injectors I've seen some different figures. They all came out to show different flow rates than what Toyota/Denso say they should...but in any case the numbers match across the board for all RedTop BEAMS injectors I have tested. So no biggie there.
Sticking in a bunch of 540cc injectors is a terrible idea. I am assuming you don't have a turbo setup on your Red/GreyTop engine. The OEM standard-issue RedTop BEAMS injectors already flow a bit too much fuel as-is. But keep in mind, this is Toyota we are talking about...legendary for having somewhat rich air-fuel ratio injection maps. They have their reasons to prefer as ~9 to 12 : 1 range in air-fuel ratios.

The exact name for the fuel injector design that Denso provides the Red/GreyTop engine, escapes me at the moment, but they are indeed the skinny plastic bodied ones.

Injector part number = 23209-74190
Lower injector O-ring part number = 23291-41010
Upper injector O-ring part number = 90301-07024
Fuel rail spacer part number = 90561-08051

Do *ESPECIALLY* not screw around with whatever injector O-rings (they are sensitive little bastards sometimes) & spacers you have just lying around and are not sure if they are actually the correct type/model for your setup. There are more cars than I can count on my 2 hands that have caught fire and burned to a crisp because of owners being complete idiots & using "whatever" fuel injection parts from "whatever" they had lying around. I'd told almost all of them "I told you so!", so DO NOT screw around here. You have a serious fuel leak issue going on here.
If for some reason you've planted Money Trees in your yard *OR* are made out of money, I would A) like to know where you live & B) you have my blessings to screw around with the fueling & burn your car/engine/self to a crisp. I tend to think none of these conditions apply to 99.99999999999999999999999999999999% people on this planet. So use proper care & caution here.

You can of course use whatever the heck fuel injectors you like, so long as the specs & measurements all add up the the OEM fuel injector (pics attached). If you are using all OEM injectors, fuel rail, intake manifold, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump & filter and have nothing else funky going on like a turbo/ITBs or forcefeeding of any other kind, I see no reason you could argue as to why you should use aftermarket over Toyota OEM parts.

http://s227.photobucket.com/user/mechanicd...C01524.jpg.html
http://s142.photobucket.com/user/odmoht/me...-Front.jpg.html
http://s401.photobucket.com/user/oldsoul45.../rail1.jpg.html
(pink ones on the bottom, obviously...) http://s401.photobucket.com/user/oldsoul45.../rail3.jpg.html
(pink ones on the left, ditto...) http://s401.photobucket.com/user/oldsoul45.../rail2.jpg.html

The absolute best thing you could do right now is to take all 4 injectors off and take them to a reputable fuel injector cleaning/servicing shop...and see what's what. One injector gushing could, *perhaps*, be from a blockage in the little strainer at the top end of the injector where it is fed fuel. Could also be a stuck needle inside the injector. Either one could be a catastrophic situation for the injector itself...and eventually your car...should it catch fire.

Do *NOT* screw around with things here, as I've highlighted up ^^^ there.

that was a pretty damn good turn out for a 6GC meet. The last few i've been to have only be a few cars.
Sorry i dipped out early. I wanted to get some hiking in and still be able to ride home before it got dark.
I'm running a not so bright headlight on my bike lol

Nice seeing everyone and hearing some good stories

Might have to show up with my twin cylinder Honda next time to put the beatdown on that Hyosung! Am I correct in seeing some design/engineering cues from a Suzuki SV there?

edit: reason #1 to re-import my caribbean island-resident BEAMS'd Celica....show uo at a Celica meet with a Celica, instead of a Tacoma.

edit2: don't drink heavily after a Celica meet & couple hours drive...

edit3: fun seeing all you jive turkeys again!

Just wanted to update the list...

Oh, and I know I'm having a bunch of people come out to your guys' meet, and I wanted to let you know a couple things. I've met almost all the people that are coming, and they are all very nice, well mannered people.

They aren't the type to do some sick nasty parking brake FWD burnouts...

This is going to be a very enjoyable event, and lots of cars.

I'm not a religious man, so anyone who is, pray and have your family pray for no rain. Haha!

And I just want to add this... Wooooo Wooooo!

1. Chris and Stacy - puppy chow, propane, guac?
2. Daniel and Brigette - BBQ Burgers
3. Noberto and family
4. Zach - water and pop
5. Devin - Propane Grill
6. Luke and Maggie
7. Jordan (and Erin?)
8. Chee La and Mai See (+1) - things to grab food with and things to put food on as well as some sort of pastry/dessert goodness.
9. Shig and Ting Ting - snacks like crackers and stuff
10. Joe - 2. 12 Pk.s of Coke and Sausage links
11. Sean - Burger Buns
12. Dalton - 12 Pk. of Dew
13. Rod - Sausage buns
14. Art - Case of water
15. Celi (+1) - Ketchup and Mustard
16. BrahManty - More pop, dogs, and buns.
17. 2K - More water
18. MrFunny
19. Friso + 1
There are two more 7th gen's that are possibles and my brother...

Add me as bringing 1 Caribbean caveman, a good amount is skirt steak & charcoal, torch & other paraphernalia.
Should I bring an extra cooler still?

Lol of course the rear suspension creaks. Gotta love that Datsun quality! Does your girlfriend have the DE or HR? We're seriously tempted to trade ours in for a 6 speed HR, despite how much we hate the manual trans in Z's.

HR with that crazy rev match thing...stalled it a bunch of times & looked like a tool doing it...something to get used to with modern manuals.

I haven't driven them so I'm in no position to knock them, but on paper they simply are not the car for me.

^ same for me. I need "spin the tires, kick you out of your seat" power, not just handling. wink.gif I love the look of those cars though, if the numbers were a little higher I would've jumped on it.

The 26 grand $ base model will do, with a supercharger/turbo kit for the extra 4000-6000 $, oughta pin you back in your seat pretty good. If that don't do it, let me point you to a 0 miles GTR with AMS Alpha Omega kit......1200+ hp in street trim. GOAT!

Well this turnout looks promising. I wasn't planning on bringing THAT many burgers. Laziness may prevail and I'll buy some pre-made (not cheap) burgers just so I don't have to put forth any effort. I'm still trying to figure out how to fit a cooler in this:

Either way, I'm working Friday so I won't be home until 8:30, still have to do all of my shopping, get everything ready to go, and hit the road at 5 am. Gonna be short on sleep already, so I may just go with some store bought burgers (again, NOT the cheap frozen ones.)

LOL @ your crazy strut bar, over compensating for something? wink.gif

Got a gf here who has a Z now too, complains all the time about the 'room issue'.
You don't have that rear suspension creaking noise do you?

Hi Kids!!!

That annoying guy with the HillBillyTacoTruck will be present once again.
There ain't no sissy vegetarians between the ranks, right? I'll bring *some* skirt steak to grill & go nuts with.....some accompanying additives too....torilla's/grilled veg/sour cream etc with as well.
I'll out-fox y'alls again with my propane torch in case EVERYBODY FORGETS. Those grills are still there like last time, right? Prolly a good idea for me to bring some coal as well for extra grilling surface area in case we bring more food than grill.
Are we all good on drinks & sides?

Bonus Feature! The aforementioned HillBillyTacoTruck will be in it's first phase of it's boosted twin-screw supercharger epoch!
Double Bonus Feature! I'll be bringing along a genuine member of the Neanderthal species with as well! They just emerged from the caves and have just discovered the wonders that is a wheel!

I've just always heard good things about Chicago pizza and I'm trying to think of a food that will be good for everyone to eat since not everyone likes sushi. But like Liz said, it's not every day we're in the big city so we definitely want to eat something that makes us want it again.

May be as bold as to suggest DMK Burger Bar? The food is out of this world for the prices.

hey tweak, i got my wiring mostly figured out, you prolly have a bit more experience than i do on this one, my Battery Warning light remains on for some reason or another.....do you know of any wiring issues that may cause this? Yes it is a 92 Celica Convertible that went 5SFE ---> 3SGE BEAMS. I know its not a faulty battery and i know the alternator works, tested it with different batteries & did an alternator test, and it does charge very well.....im wondering if there is a electronic load sensor i need to wire somehow?
