Any ideas how exactly you delay a court date? I'm having trouble finding information on this matter.

Was doing some readin (cause Im trying to kill some time right now) and with the speeding and the stop sign, the cop could gave you a bigger fine. It looks like speeding was just 135 ( iguess the caculate the total) but running the stop sign (or rolling it, same thing though) is 165. So your kinda lucky in that part, one fine instead of two. Second there is this whole big thing about suspension of sentence and deferral...here is the link, there is too much to put on here. Pretty much some 180 day probation program and at the end they dismiss your case. You do have all kinds of options avaiable....just weigh them out, will going to court (w/fees and what not) be worth 135 dollars? And just cause the cop pposted it later than 7days...im not too sure if thats going to matter, as it got posted before the date was up (granted 3 days before...that does suck). They would probly ask why you didnt go in person, or call, or something....Still, search around the Harris county justice site and see what you cant find out. Times up!

Yeah, I think I'll just go in person to request Deferred Disposition for the stop sign and just pay the speeding ticket.

Really? The cop being slow is completely useless to me? The ticket says right on it "Please allow 7 days for processing before attempting to resolve this citation with the court." I had to wait almost 2 months before I'd even be able to do anything!

Also, I'm 18 almost 19, and technically, I have a clean driving record on paper because I've had one ticket from a wreck that was taken care of with Defensive Driving, and two speeding tickets, one taken care of with Defensive Driving and the other with deferred disposition. There are no points or anything on my license/driving record.

Hey guys, I need some help.

About two months ago I got a speeding ticket for 36 in a 30 and a failure to stop for rolling through a stop sign, all at the same time. The area I got the ticket is under the jurisdiction of Precinct 4 of Harris County, Texas. Also known as Humble/Atascacita. So I got the tickets, I waited a week for processing like the ticket says to do and tried to pay for them, only they weren't in the system yet, I tried again the next week, and the next week until I forgot to check every week. Last week I checked because I knew my court date was coming up. Still, nothing.

Now today, less than three days before the court date on my ticket I log on to the Justices of the Peace website again, and there my cases appear, and I got really ticked. I thought the officer must have lost my ticket or something, nope he's just amazingly slow.

http://web.jp.hctx.net/CaseInfo/GetCaseInf...se=TR42X2197342

If you scroll down you will see the ticket wasn't added until last Tuesday, the 22nd, less than a week before my day in court on the 28th. It should have been added over SIX weeks ago.

I was just going to pay for my citations and comply, but now I want to fight. And I was wondering if his lacking ability to process my ticket can be used to my advantage to have these tickets dismissed. Can I use this as ammo? Anyone have ANY experience in this situation? Or one like it? Or just experience fighting tickets at all? Please help

Hey, recently saw a green Celica(pretty sure it was a pre-facelift) in the Kingwood High School student parking lot driving around during 3rd period, didn't see you enter the lot but you stopped over at the entrance and looked like you were waiting to pick someone up. I'm pretty sure you saw me staring at you/your car, I had just barely walked into the parking lot when I saw your car and kinda stopped in the middle of the aisle rolleyes.gif Just wanted to let you know that weird guy staring at you wasn't staring at you for anything bad tongue.gif

Anyways... just wondering who you were, cool to see someone local, and nice car smile.gif

I'm no longer in possession of a 6GC, it met its end on a fun twisty road with a COMPLETELY RANDOM PUDDLE AFTER A BLIND TURN FOLLOWED BY A LIGHT POLE THAT JUMPED IN FRONT OF ME OUTTA NOWHERE mad.gif (note: still super pissed, loved that car, white 98 GT Conv. also still haven't received a bill from the city for that light pole, pretty sure the cop was bluffing) but I still troll the forums here every now and then, 6GC.net was my first car forum, and still my favorite.

Now I've got a Silver '03 Mazda Proteg5 with a CAI, fart-can exhaust(came with it kindasad.gif ), and a pretty decent stereo with a 400W RMS 12" sub. But the idea of being surrounded by Celicas for a day sounds like fun to me smile.gif Hehe, I've even thought about selling my Protege5 and getting another 6GC after college when I have a decent job, 'cause you know by then they'd be 15-20yrs old and classic wink.gif instead of just old tongue.gif

hell, i got the lightest weight N/A GT!

How do you figure? Verts are the Miss Piggy of Celicas laugh.gif
That honor probably goes to Brandon seeing as he has no sunroof but a coupe with no options would be lighter. wink.gif -T-spoon - I think Alex has you there as well.

i keep hearing this...

i just dont understand how though confused.gif

I had one took alltheway apart this weekend... The motors weigh like 5 lbs each... Gears weigh less than that... And there is barely any framing to it...

The reason the Verts(2755 lbs) weigh so much more than the Coupes(2395 lbs) and Hatchbacks(2415 lbs) is additional bracing(like you said, the actual Vert roof components are decently light), mostly done by doubling up layers of the unibody in key areas, they have to because there's no solid roof for support. The roof makes up alot of a car's strength, it pretty much creates a box frame for the center section of a car(Google Box Frames and Lotus 7's if you have a chance). So with out the roof they had to compensate(lolz... compensate hehe, Verts are compensating for a lack of stiffness laugh.gif ) and bulk up areas to keep the unibody from twisting, torquing, or warping itself to death.

I still remember being able to feel my Vert flex in a hard turn (awwwe good times rolleyes.gif ), you could glance at the door gaps mid-turn and watch them change, when I first noticed I thought the doors were just loose on the hinges or something, but friends and I couldn't get them to move the way they did in a hard corner, it wasn't the doors moving or flexing, it was everything else twisting kindasad.gif

And... back on topic! Currently located in a North Houston suburb, would love to attend the June 7th meet, if me and my Mazda are welcome frown.gif

Man, the 6gc is one of the worst out of that group. I think the Mr2 is worse and the 240 is up there. Hope fully thats stock suspension tongue.gif

But think about, you don't know how fast they are going... faster = more body roll... and who would have the balls to take it a little bit faster than everyone else... wink.gif hmmmm? The MR2 oh wait, I mean the Celica of course!!! lol laugh.gif And who cares about Nissans, seriously? biggrin.gif

wow! are these weights with drivers? I thought that a fully loaded GT hatchback weighed 2580?

Weights aren't ever very accurate. Mine weighed last time I was at the track... I dunno... 3 years ago... something like 2600 pounds with 16's and 1/2 tank of gas. It depends on the scale, the fuel, the wheels, the tires, speakers, crap in the car, sunroof, etc. Lots of little things.

And yeah... I do expect the typical GT to be around 2800-2900 pounds. The 5S isn't a exactly a small lightweight motor compared to other 4 bangers.

Our 5SFE weighs within 50lbs. of a Corvettes LS1...

I'm not completely a newb, I do have a sticky in the handling forum.
Anyways, I don't know the green celica in kingwood, I do know a red ST. I drove a white 98 Celica GT conv., and then there was a huge puddle... and sliding... and a big tall light pole... the celica went away... and now I drive a white 03 Altima 2.5S... I want my Celi back frown.gif

There are massive amounts of differences between a coupe celi and a convert, why do you think a convertible ways so much more than a coupe or hatch??? The roof is a very important to the integrity of a car, convertibles have no roofs and thus need a lot more bracing and reinforceing to the rest of the body to keep it from bending or flexing or twisting like something that's supposed to bend, flex, or twist! which it is not!
Cutting off the top=suicidaly stupid idea, I would never ride in it or any one I know

DO you think this setup WIll be more efficient than a A2A intercooler? I read alot about the w2A and it is much better by theory, does anyone know about ths setuo of have one on there cars?

For street use and moderate power, A2A is great for little maitnance and reliability. For Massive Power and definite drag use a W2A can cool much more effectively, Ice can be added to the resivoir to make the water that much colder. I've also seen one setup where a guy was running a mixture of coolants with very low freezing points and dry ice(solid CO2) in his W2A resivoir tank, his intake temp was below freezing, but he wasn't running too much boost to begin with and he was just doing that "just because"
