So I was changing my radiator today and got everything off. The only issue I have is the Transmission lines right now. I was starting to reinstall and realized that the mark I put on the lines to distinguish which was which came off. There are two of them on the 2.2 Liter GT. I need to now which one goes where. If someone could send me a picture of this or a description that would be awesome. |

Well I was close when I said "D". Anyways. That is a good question. I am not a hundred percent whether it was from a Celica or not. It may be the Camry's. It is the A140E that is in there I believe. Or I could be wrong. But tell me more about this bracket thing. And then I wonder, can this be cause by something internal? |

Shifter linkage. When these clips go the shifter gets all jacked up. Apparently there is a clip in the shape of a D or similar that holds all the shifter cables together etc. And it keeps breaking. |

Had a new tranny put in and I have snapped 3 linkage clips now and the linkage has been adjusted twice. What in the world would make the clips break? |

Okay. So some of you may know that I lost the ole tranny out of my 94GT last October. Anyways. Within a week she was back up and running and then the idiots that put it in didn't put in new axle seals and the left axle seal leaked like crazy the first long distance I went. Had it towed back two hours for warranty repairs at my hometown Toyota. Ok...since the tranny was bought through the dealership, the axle seals were under warranty so the dealership covered the repair cost and towing. Nov. 06 About two months later, I am driving along down the interstate on my way to work, backed into the parking spot and after coming out of reverse I hear this pop. And then my car wouldn't go into park. Where the drive indicator was on the shifter was actually reverse and everything was amiss, I was like awesome, tranny is shot again or something. Tranny being under warranty, I wasn't worried about it. Since I live here in Memphis, I didn't want to take it back home 2 hours away were the car was fixed the first time. So the dealership arranged to have a warranty repair done here at a Memphis dealership. I figured it was something serious but it ending up being a linkage clip snaping because the linkage was to tight or something, I dunno. Jan. 07 So then another month goes by and then the same story only this time I put the car in park and I here the same pop. Call up the Memphis Dealership and have it towed in, they replace the clip and loosen the linkage. They said for some reason the linkage was really tight and they said it was binding so they loosened it and replaced the clip. Feb. 07 Now today. Same freaking story. Went from Drive to Reverse and the damn clip broke again. Warranty repair to be done Thursday. My question is, what the hell keeps making the linkage clip snap???? Help someone. |

Not trying to jack the thread or anything. But wouldn't Toyota have used the first 5 to 10 or so for testing and crash ratings and such, if not that, wouldn't they keep a few as to hold as mint somewhere for their collecting purposes. I know Chevrolet does, as wheel as Jeep. The last three Jeep Cherokees that were made are kept in a Jeep Musuem or something like that. As well as a model of every year change. Just throwing that out there, But I will check and see which one I have. I have #5333 of the 94GT model. |

This is random, but, the dust shield behind your brake discs! Have you thought of checking those. The could be shifting just slighty and rubbing the backside of the rotors. It is worth a shot, you never know. But, as far as the scraping thing goes. If its not your brakes, it would have to be suspension or a something loose near the driveline. Underbody plastic, or maybe even your brake hose/cable is being pinched against the rotor. |

Ok. So after owning my 6GC for about a year with a few issues. The Big Rollover is fast approaching. So I took my car to Performance Toyota. All I was going to do was the timing belt and water pump. They called and it was one of those phone calls you don't want to here, There were like "Hey do you have a minute. I was like great, let me guess." They told me a few things that needed some attention and I was like how much am I looking at.....Fearing the worst, I actually am surprised. I requested to see the car. They happily agreed. And I did look at it to may sure it wasn't a (Stealership manuever) They are indeed leaking. So most of the seals are shot, and I am not savy enough to replace them so I am letting them do it. Almost all the Oil seals on the front are leaking, one quite aggressively, I just really didn't notice because it was puddling in the Splash shield/skid plate under the car. Here is what the are replacing. Timing Belt (Belt, Tensioner, ETC.) Water Pump (Seals, Bearings, ETC.) Front Seals (Main Seal, along with others) All Belts (Serpentine and Accessory) Valve Cover Gasket Oil Change All for just 430 and change. That is labor and parts included. Is this fair, or am I getting Stealershiped? |

Ok....Here is what I got. When I first start my Celi it idles really rough. And does so until the engine is warm. And when I first put it in gear while its cold it does the same. What could be the issue. Like when I put it in to gear with the brakes pressed before taking off and causes the whole car to shimmy. I know this probably doesn't help describe it all the way but any insight would be appreciated!! |

Ok...So I am driving down the road and the little Bar that slides under the sunroof flies of while I have it opened!!!! For a better description....It is the little object that seems to be used to deflect air up and over the opening in the roof.....But needless to say I don't have one anymore. My sunroof closed but now won't open all the way. I need a part number for this object if anyones got it. If I have to I will draw a picture in Paint or whatever and post it up here. |

I am just looking for spare set of wheels to use....mostly during the winter and just because I have extra set of tires with no rims for that set. Conviently to me....A new Scrap yard has just opened on some guys farm land about a mile from my house. He carries mostly newer cars 97 and above...And he happens to have a surplus of Solaras....3 to be exact. There are few nice vehicles there that have come from the Memphis metro. Ok...rambling of the course of subject....Any insight would be great. |

Ok. So some of you know that I had a incident with a deer about a month ago that destroyed my front bumper, both high beam lights and the support structures of both. I ended up getting all new bumper and highbeams along with a shiny new glossy paint. Along with other misc parts replaced...Took two weeks to hunt them down...but I got them. TOTAL $1319.82 (Insurance covered it all) So two days ago I am going down I-40 and I have a blowout!!! Not an uncommon thing if your tires are in ill shape. But my tires were in great shape. I had an oil change 3 days prior and they checked the tread depth and all 4 were 8/32.....My tires Dayton Daytona SR's start out at 11/32....So...what happened to it!! (Still under investigation) Checking with Bridgestone/ Firestone about a warranty on that Junt. TOTAL $ 166.23 for new tire, balance, and alignment. So now here comes the next chapter in my curse. Commuting to work a piece of someones tire kicks up from the road and smacks my 6GC in the face. I don't stop because I figured no harm done cause it went off to the left of my car. Well I was wrong. Got to work and noticed a nice big space of paint missing from the newly painted bumper. Where I stand now you ask? Well after consulting with the body shop, the are going to rule it a paint flaw in my favor and repaint the entire bumper again at no charge to me along with a rental car. I am happy!! Is this a new leaf turning over, or is something else around the bend. Wish me luck. |

I am willing to push for some weekend either later this month or in September. Though I am not sure about the area right along the state line. I would have no problem with Gatlinburg, Tail of the Dragon, or any other of the main areas in Tennessee, anybody know what Kentucky has got just right over the border? |

That sounds good to me. But why a date so late. I wanna do it when its warm outside. But hey, I don't care when we do it. As long as its a weekend. I am not familiar with that area. Are they already having snows and such in that region by then? |

I agree with the above. A lot of people will be starting school throughout the Tennessee area whether its highschool or college within the next couple of weeks. So if we are gonna do something, it needs to be soon if possible and will definatley need to be on a weekend. But we must figure out a location as well. |

Hey Celi_GT_Racer....I am actually from pretty much Huntingdon's backyard, Paris. I grew up there my whole life and now moved to Memphis for school and career. But seriously fellow 6gcers. We should try to get the ball rolling on this meet, looks like we could have a fair enough turn out. |

Count me in on that. There are many good places across the state to meet up and do some driving. Land Between the Lakes, Natchez Trace Parkway, and a few others!!! Just give me a time and date. |

For those of you that read my post about me hitting a deer. I am getting my car fixed tomorrow and they are going to replace the stock high beams with the New clear. But I have to locate them!! My Fellow 6gcers please. I have to work tonight from 8 to 4am and will not have time to hunt. |

So this morning on the way home from work. Round a turn that is uphill and BAMMM. HUGE Doe...I mean huge. So I lay into the brakes of course and slide into the Emergency lane and listen as the deer cartwheels over my Celica. The crazy thing is my sunroof was open, I am just glad no legs came in. But as far as the damage goes. Bumper is pushed in about and inch or so....support structure is missing the radiator by maybe a few centimeters. Low Beams are way out of focus but intact. But, both High beams are destroyed, housings and all. I will post some pics if I get a chance. After looking at prices, it may be fesible to get Clear High Beams!!! If only I had some part numbers!! FYI: Insurance is gonna take care of it all. 0 Deductable Baby. |
