Actually, I have the same problem and even after cleaning it, my left side rear switch doesn't work. So I would like to buy that if anybody is selling....

My switch for the driver rear window on my '95 vert will go down, but not up without pressing and praying...I would prefer to just get a conpletely new console with the roof control and two rear window controls, but if not, I at least need the driver side switch before the summer gets here and I can't drop my top! (Bringing top back up with rear windows up=broken windows/tracks...) I could go to the pull-a-part but I decided to check here first...
Call me if possible...I will be pretty busy for a while...

How do you guys like these on a black 95 vert? All from WheelsNEXT.com.

1st Choice

2nd Choice

3rd Choice

I'm not sure which choice THIS is, but it looks pretty nice.

Whichever one I get would be 18 inches. Opinions please! Btw, looking back, the 1st 2nd and 3rd choices don't mean that they are my favorites. It's just how I chose to label them.

I'd appreciate just a couple more opinions keeping in mind what I just recently wrote before I make a decision.

Yeah, not to deny the advice you guys are giving, but I should let you know that all I want is a little bit of knock. It'll be where the back seats were so I doubt I would need the same power that I would from a trunk. I don't really need a great sub, I just want something that lets me enjoy my music a little more and I figured that I might as well try to make the interior look better at the same time. The blue lights match my interior. If they are gonna fall completely apart or something, then I don't want them. But I don't really need high performance. Just something that will be okay. So what's the deal? Are these still HORRIBLE or are they okay for what I want?

WHat do you guys think of this in place of my backseat? I'm also mounting an amp back there and the blue glow would go with the rest of my interior.

Well I agree that doing it myself would give me a great chance to learn my engine. Thanks for the advice and if I decide to do it, I'll definately do it myself. I guess replacing something with what is essentially the same thing can't be THAT hard! Thanks again for the advice.

Well I'm pretty good mechanically, but I just have no experience with engines. How long would that take and would it be a good idea without any real engine experience?

I've gotten under the "E" as well, but I usually keep it from going under half a tank. (Sometimes things come up on short notice and I have no time if I were to be at "E" and have to fill up)

I know it has been discussed, but I just wanted more of a personalized opinion about it. I mean, maybe a vert shouoldn't be swapped with a certain engine due to chassis strain or something. If you think about it, almost everthing possible has been discussed at one point or another on these forums. I was just trying to get advice specifically tailored to my situation. I know I could search and find most of that info, but maybe someone knows of a great new source for engines or something like that. So if anyone knows anything else, about what I asked, just post whatever might be helpful. Thanks.

Okay, I've been posting on these forums looking into putting a turbo in my car, but then I started to realize that almost everytime someone puts a turbo in a 5sfe, they end up swapping anyway. So, money isn't an issue (to an extent), and I just want to know if I should just skip that and do a swap instead. I won't be doing it myself because I actually want my car to WORK afterwards, so my experience won't be a problem. I just want to know where I would get an engine, which type, how much, other tips and pointers, maybe (and I really think I should) change my auto to a manual. The car I have is listed to the left, so if any other info is needed, just let me know.

QUOTE
why is it always the celica that gets the damaged...
from the pics
it looks like the other 2 cars got like no damage at all...

Because Celicas are beautiful. Only the beautiful ones get hurt. That's the sadness of this world.

Umm, I might sound noobish, but what is that bar that goes across the engine from *guessing* strut tower to strut tower? The one that goes back to the firewall in the middle? I'm just curious. Also, can I safely paint just about any metal in my engine as long as it's not the inside of something? And should I just use high temp paint or something else?

Am I the only one who would've chased the SH*T out of that driver while on the phone with the police and writing down the liscense plate with all four of my hands?!?! I'm not bashing you, but even if it WAS just the mirror, it could have been scratched a little. Why wouldn't you make the truck driver pay for it? Or maybe it's just because I have a new paintjob and baby my celi. You did mention some scratches on the fender already. I'm just curious, that's all. Please don't take offense to anything I just said. I'm just really confused about why you didn't stop him anyway.

Sue the SH*T out of them! Walk into any law office around where you live and tell them your story. They'll jump on it! It most likely won't go to court if you have a lawyer contact them and scare them with litigation. If a lawyer is too much for you, then just talk to a clerk at the courthouse and find out what you could do. You shouldn't have to pay for this AT ALL. A sign wasn't secured and hit your car. Not your fault and it is CLEARLY the fault of whoever installed it. In America, the law is supposed to protect against this kind of thing happening to its citizens. Please don't give in and pay for this. You shouldn't have to.

What's wrong with drilled rotors? I was considering getting drilled and slotted rotors this summer or spring break. Please stop me before I make a mistake!!!

I'm not trying to jack the thread, but I'm just curious.

QUOTE
Unless it's specifically designed for mounting a harness to it, don't do it!
The mounting points of strut bars or nowhere near strong enough in comparison to a oem seat-belt mounting point. A strut bar bolts to your top-mounts, not for attatching harnesses to.

The are actual harness bars available (not sure if any to fit the celica, though) that do mount to the oem seat belt points.

I actually saw something about that on these forums and completely forgot. Some guy actually had one fabricated for his 6th gen. You should be able to search for it. Sorry if I gave bad advice, but it was just my opinion on the matter.

QUOTE
Actually its 0 - 45 degrees. I've got my harness setup like the passenger side of the first pic (the three point). The danger comes when people bolt their harnessess to the floor...near the seat brackets. Raz's look fine...all the places he's bolted them up to are quite safe.

how do you feel knowing you are now in the hospital knowing you're a paraplegic.
and contributing to other peoples potentially life threatening situation?
please don't give any more advice since you are very wrong.

While I agree with your basic point, I don't think it was necessary to go that far with it. I'm sure he thought he was right, or:
1. He wouldn't say anything, and
2. He wouldn't have HIS harnesses mounted like that!
I just think that you could have gotten your idea across with a little more tact and less anger seeing as how we are all kind of part of an extended "family". That kind of attitude isn't needed on these forums and especially not towards a fellow 6th gen-er.

Well I was under the impression that the closer the tail end of the harness is to being level, the better. I'm not saying to do this, as I don't know how safe it is, but I think that if they were mounted to that bar going across, in the back of the hatch in that picture, would be more on par with where it should be. I think that's the C-pillar, which I would assume IS safe. I'm such a horrible Celi owner... I sure do wish I could remember the smilie symbols... When I put some Sparcos in my 95 'vert I plan to take out my back seat and pretty much make one of those crossbar type thingies to mount my harness to. Somebody let me know if I'm wrong...

Hey isn't the harness in the first picture perfectly lined up to break collar bones and make you two inches shorter in case of an accident? I'm not trying to bash anybody, but it might be something to look into for safety reasons.
