Very nice fit and finish. Single DIN stereo install kit. I used in my 95 for a few months before I sold it.

Asking $5 plus shipping if necessary. Can meet in Providence/Boston I-95 area as I commute around Boston a few times a week. Email me with inquiries thomas dot tracy @ gmail dot com

Well, not what I had intended to be doing at this point, but I need something a bit more substantial in size, and quieter for my 130 mile a day commute. frown.gif

I bought my Celica last August, and it has been an excellent commuter from a reliability and mileage standpoint, but I have found I need something with a bit more space and comfort. I am going to miss this car, and wish I had the $$ to keep it and make it a weekend car.

I am working on pictures for this thread, but can email them in the meantime, just let me know. I think I have a couple in my profile.

Stats:
1995 Celica GT Convertible
Black with Black leather interior
5 speed manual
2.2l engine
This car is ALL ORIGINAL, un-modified. One key point on this car is that it is essentially unmodified. Only thing I changed on it was installing a new stereo which I plan to take out unless the buyer is willing to pay the difference for it.

The good:
Body is clean and very straight. A few nicks and scratches here, but I'd rate it 7 out of 10
Top in good condition, both motors work fine. I had the top fully reconditioned/waterproofed in December including repair of 3 small wear points.
Glass window/ cloth top. I am unsure if it is original, but believe it is
Engine runs like a top. As noted above, I drive it daily 130+ miles and have not had a problem with it
Regularly maintained with oil changes every 5k
Recent maintenance includes: Sparkplugs, Valve cover gasket (had small leak), air filter and complete engine clean down
New Yokohame Avid TRZ tires at 90k
New brakes all around at 80
Still under 100K miles!

The not so good:
Starter needs to be rebuilt. In cold weather, starter will not engage gears on first try, but always does on second.
Rear window defroster needs one wire re-soldered
One rear quarter window needs replacement. I have both windows coming from a part out by tinfoil. Window does go up/down, just needs to be guided by hand
Carpet worn on drivers side, but good floor mats cover it up fine

$7000

email or PM me with any questions. I'm willing to arrange delivery, or pickup. I am looking for a 1st gen Avalon if anyone has one and is interested in a trade.

I'll take those rear quarter windows, and if it's in good shape, the weatherstrip to go with them. Let me know how much shipped to 02905

I recently upgraded my head unit. Have the OEM unit for sale which is 2 DIN units. AM/FM Cassette and the 3CD changer. Both in good shape and work great.

My firts post got deleted, I guess because I didn't put FS in the title.

Unsure what this is worth, so make offers.

WHy would you want this ?

In warmer climates, it's great to be able to roll the windows down in advance of opening the car to begin circulating cooler air in the car. And it's pretty cool to do so from the remote too.

Installed a set of Infinity 6012i's in the rear of my 95 convertible yesterday. I was unsure what to expect, but WOW is all I can say. I was initially concerned at the loss of low end sound, but with the door speakers still supporting the low, the rears now really fill in the highs, and I'm hearing parts of songs I've never heard before, and that's doing 70MPH with a convertible top. Truly outstanding!

Still running the stock HU for now, and it's a 6 speaker system, so next steps will be upgrading the front with components, and an amp to power them properly, but I'm definately on the road to better overall sound

Mine doesn't, and I can't tell if the switch should have a setting so that it (they) turn on when the door is opened. I have a 95 with two dome lights, one on each side of the rear view mirror.

Quick query on this topic: how do you remove the valve cover? I did a quick visual and don't see obvious bolts to remove. Mine's leaking out the backside as well, although very small leak

I found references to it online, but no available downloads. I'm going to stop by the local Toyota dealer and see if I can get a copy there. Winter's coming, don't want melting snow in my car!

Anyone with verts have problems with the frame causing wear holes when folded? I have twin spots wearing both sides where the frame rubs on them when down. It seems that the frame pushes down right next to the inner strut mount bolt which is causing the wear.

I don't know if I have stock struts or not, but the bolts seem to stick up more than 1/2 inch. Thinking if I saw them down that may solve the problem, but looking for input. frown.gif

nice, its wicked clean how many miles on it

about 84k as of today

May make it to the RI meet this weekend. It's my wedding anniversary, so depends on if I can convince my wife to make a stop in.

Thanks for the comments. No plans to do mods of any significants, I figure at 11 years old, it deserves to stay stock a bit longer.

Recently bought my first Celica, and second Toyota (had a 95 Camry many year back). Flew to Cleveland and drove it back same day. Very happy with it, and getting as many topless days in as I can before winter takes over.

Agreed. sounds like they're going for as much out of you as possible. Throwout bearing doesn't suggest clutch is bad, and technically they aren't related beyond both being wear items.

I'd get the car towed elsewhere, $1500 sounds real high for a clutch replacement.

Have your clutch hydraulics bled and you'll likley be able to drive again, but with a noisy throw out bearing, at least for a bit, but definatley get that replaced.

I'm new to 6GC forums, but not maintenance on cars. Whining when you press the clutch pedal sound to me like a bad throw out bearing.

I've had my 6GCV for only a few weeks. so still finding my way around the engine compartment. I didn't realize these had a hydraulic clutch. Mine grabs a bit high on teh pedal (~83k miles), so hopefully has some adjustment still before it needs a new clutch.
