if you have the air filter off the turbo, and when the car is running, is the compressor wheel spinning?

if the wheel is spinning but your not getting boost check your intercooler pipes for a leak, i.e. you may have blown off a clamp in a place you cant easily see.

or if the compressor wheel isnt spinning at all... then youve ceased the turbo...

The box I think you are referring to can be removed, It is a factory air resonator box for your air intake. It is useless and does nothing for you, it is actually an improvement to remove the box. So yes that spot would be perfect, there is also 3 good bolting locations which you can use to mount your W/I tank.

Find post below showing this box and how to remove.

Awesome useful celica tips and repair info

i dont get it.... did i miss something here?

he has at the top ct26 turbo,

yet down the list has a ct26 to t3/t4 adapter?

so why does he have a ct26 if he has a adapter which is suited for the t3t4 turbos....

how much boost were you running on the turbos? do you use a turbo timer, if so how long do you let the car idle for after a hard boost.

The t3/t4 is the more cost effective way of doing the turbos on the celica i think, the ebay ones work ok, I have done about 8000 miles on my t3/t4 chinese turbo at 20pound daily driven with no problems...

the standard turbo will crap its self at 18 psi after a few boost spikes to that... atleast my stock turbo died after 3 or 4 times of hitting fuel cut.

so you have a full exhaust system 3" from the turbo all the way back... turbos clocked downwards i assume... your running a front mount air to air intercooler?

how is the boost being regulated? by the stock turbo wastegate or have you just got the vacum line disconnected from the turbo? take a picture of your turbo? there should be 2 tubes ontop of the factory wastegate... where do those go.

replacing the stock downpipe with a aftermarket one from ebay or wherevere, will gain you about 20hp, it will be noticable the power gain. and the internal wastegate sounds nicer... gives the car a throatier tone.
removing the sensors is easy.. its just 2 bolts and then you pull it out and stick it into the new downpipe... plug and play basically.

ummm i would recomend with the new downpipe, that you heatwrap it from the turbo to 1/2 or 3/4 the way down. this will greatly reduce under bonnent temps.
