Got fuel pressure the whole time? I haven’t checked the fuel pressure with a gauge, but I’m able to rev it up some before it cuts out. My main theory is with the vacuum system. The engine will idle just fine with MAP sensor disconnected, but if I try and accelerate while parked, the engine will cut out immediately. |

Hi everyone, I need help troubleshooting why my engine is starting but won’t idle. Here’s a link to a video I made of starting the engine. https://youtu.be/gF3kd_6-TC4 I did a full transmission swap and lifted the engine completely out of the bay. This is the product after I put the engine back in along with the new transmission. I believe I put all vacuum hoses back properly as well as fuel lines. Put new engine oil, transmission fluid, and coolant so the car should be running normally. Any ideas what’s causing this? Thanks. |

Does it have sufficient fluid level? Is the shifter cable still attached at both ends? I changed the fluid (even pushed out the fluid from the torque converter) and the car will still act like it’s in neutral no matter what gear I’m in. Where is the shifter cable located on each end? Is there a document/procedure I can reference? Thanks! |

Hi everyone, I have a 1995 Toyota Celica GT with the 5SFE engine and A140E automatic transmission. The engine runs completely fine, but I’m unable to engage the transmission at all. Basically any gear I shift into (Reverse, Drive, 2, Low) the car acts like it’s in neutral. Here’s a link to a video I made while the car was in Drive: https://youtu.be/8qGcj6dqRXc There’s a knocking sound you can hear as well as a harsh grinding sound when I put the shifter to Park near the end of the video. If anyone has any idea of what this problem might be, please leave a comment. I’ll likely have to replace a part in the transmission (or the entire transmission) to get this thing running again. Don’t hesitate to ask questions as well. Thanks! |
