probably a spun bearing in the connecting rod caps

i second that, killed two 5s's that way and once the bearing goes you can just scrap the motor cuz it'll take the crank with it

I dunno if any of you have seen this horrific crash but John Force is lucky to be alive. He had a near repeat of the same accident that killed Eric Medlin

i just changed over to verizon and got hooked up with a deal through my mom's work. Ended up gettin an LG Chocolate for 52.99 and its nice, the touch keypad takes a little getting used to but its small and light has a good quality camera and has some of the best reception as far as phones go

Yea, that was me that hit the divider and only damaged the rim, my girlfriend said i was about a foot and a half from the front of the tractor trailer at one point, if we hadn't picked up speed while spinning it would've caught right on the passenger side door so all in all i was pretty damn lucky...

this isn't my first incident with a car and won't be my last most likely but there are way too many to list haha laugh.gif

On thursday night in the rain near quakertown, pa on I-78 i hydroplaned and slid sideways across 2 lanes in front of a tractor trailer, coreccted it then slid again and hit the cement jersey barrier in the middle of the highway...miraculously i hit at just the right angle where the impact was on the wheel only(no body damage thank god) but i'm pretty sure i bent the control arm and damaged the tire...drove it an hour home, seemed to drive ok for the most part but the tire is now rubbing on the inner fender plastic. all in all i was very lucky but i attribute the ability to save it for the most part to my autocross experience. Hopefully she'll be back together by the end of the week frown.gif

Well here's the story.

I have a spare coupe GT shell that needs some front end parts and a drivetrain. its 5 spd and interior is in good shape. The motor from that car happens to be in the blue GT hatch which i was thinking of doing a 2jz swap. And before anyone gets flame happy money is not a concern due to me coming into a little money from the passing of a relative. My father is an electrician and automotive and automated machine mechanic. He has fabrication experience as do I. we also have the tools available to make an parts needed. Oh yeah and my one friend hooked me up with a 95 eclipse GST for doin some work for him.

So opinions or ideas would be appreciated and if anyone from the PA. NY, NJ area would be interested in getting involved let me know

well i swapped throttle bodies to see if it had any effect and it actually did have a big effect. now it seems to idle better(prolly due to a cleaner IAC valve). Still sputters sometimes but still running better

So here's the deal...

When she starts up first thing in the morning she runs great. But as the engine warms up it has a rough idle(a bouncing effect) and when i hit the gas it'll sputter then catch but still not at full power. Cleaned the intake filter(aem cold air) changed plug wires and cap(no rotor tho), plugs are a month old and were pulled to have gaps checked. It started after we got a big snowstorm here a few weeks ago so i was thinking possibly a problem in the fuel system but looking for other ideas

Thanks

Eric
