QUOTE(lagos @ Mar 6, 2008 - 6:30 PM) Wait... hang on... Cant you buy a real gt4 in the uk? Why not do that? I could , but from what i can tell they are a bit expensive, for some reason insurence is higher too, Also i like the fact of the MR2 being a bit smaller, Just looks a lot more sporty ![]() |

QUOTE(jgreening @ Feb 28, 2008 - 2:54 PM) Well, there have been a lot of people that have gone from the 6gc to the mr2 but I have never heard the "parking in tight spaces" rationale before. I think the main reasons would go like this (not necessarily in order): Power RWD (traction) Exotic Looks Mid-engine (handling) Hehe ![]() |

Thinking of this for a few reasons, Im soon to be starting a new job that would involve a hell of a lot of parking in tight spaces, right now i aint too clever with the length of the celica bonnet. Im considering trying to get a 2L turbo T-bar MR2 . The seconds shape model. What are the pros & cons of doing this? Cheers |

QUOTE(stetsonaw @ Dec 21, 2007 - 11:42 AM) would wait until you are ready to put the kit on (as in have it also) so that it can get sprayed with the car. i would say go with something like a pearl blue or silver, but that's just me... i would recommend a pearl white, but you don't want white. Yeah the body kit will be on first ![]() Also interesting, Pearl Blue is up near the top of my fav colours ![]() |

I llike white cos it stands out from the crowd, but its just too much effort to keep pretty. I considered black but its too common, Can you guys throw some colours & idealy pics of cars that have non standard paint work, Btw i have many plans for this including Body kit & alloys , so its not just going to be standard as is now Cheers All |

QUOTE(goferris @ Aug 29, 2007 - 2:51 AM) just wanted to ask everyone. does the uk gt have a 3sge? i know it won't have a beams but still. if it does have a 3sge i would be more prone to say upgrade because that is a 30hp diff (don't know the exact #s). if it is only a 5sfe than i will stick with my original mention. do you have any pics of your current car? if you do that might also change my opinion. and to be honest anything you can do to a gt you can also do to an st. it just takes more work. Here is a pic to help you advise ![]() ![]() Spent all weekend getting it whiter,,,When i got it it was browm, UK + White = Muck lol |

QUOTE(raz128 @ Aug 29, 2007 - 1:13 AM) Which insurance company are you with, nyawton? Have you tried Dorset Insurance Group? they're do discount for the UK celica-club and were also able to do a great deal for me in the past. tbh, for the extra £200 on the premium, I'd go with the GT. The GT's gonna be more enjoyable to drive than the ST because of the extra power and there's not much you can do in terms of engine-tuning on the GT let alone the ST, so insurance hikes won't really be much of a concern. Where bouts in UK are you? Hi there, Im currently with Quin Direct, I beilve its an irish company & im from Leeds. I didnt try the on you mentioned, Quin Direct came back nearly half price on most others, But then again i only used compare so i guess i could have done a little more searching, Also is the the club you mentioned? http://www.celica-club.co.uk/ Cheers ![]() |

![]() Thats sound advise, I also forgot to mention the ST i have already has the rear Disc conversion, So at the Moment with the help of you suggestions im sure i will be sticking with the st, Like mentioned i cant do a great deal engine wise & be legal at the same time, Im planning Induction Kit (think ill get away with this) Full Body Kit + Rear spoiler , At the moment there is no spoiler & i found this a bit rare?? Alloys Still annoys me tho , the fact im restriced on what i can do beacouse of insurence prices ![]() Cheers again ![]() |

Hey guys got a bit of a tough choice to make soon, Well about me, Im 21 & currently hold a full Uk licene with 0 years no claims, I managed to get insured on a 1.8 st for £1800 (altho i upgraded from a saxo 1.4 so diddnt pay the full £1800 in one go, but thats another storey) Well soon its coming up to my 1 years no claims so i could just about to get a GT, Renewal for a 1.8 st = £1200 Upgrade insurence to GT = £1400 My whole aim on this is to get a car worth doing up, full body kit etc, I cant do much on the engine as this will boost insurence thru the roof! What would you guys do in my position? Hope this makes sence Cheers ![]() |
