Hello old friends, and others that I haven't had the chance of talking to or meeting yet. I am having a new addition to my family soon, just found out we are having a boy yesterday! The problem is (I have yet to think about this yet), car seats....... Anyone attempted putting them in a 6 gen(not just every now and then but full time)? Found a model that works best? Advice from anyone that has had prior experience with this would be greatly appreciated. I saw a Recaro one that I would love but that thing is a monster and won't fit in the Celica, I am pretty sure. Thank you very much for the help!

The wrong way, as in grabbing the top and bottom of the tire and wiggling back and forth/up and down, however you want to put it. I haven't heard too much of a whirring sound, my engine is loud and my driver side window motor is broken.

I took it all apart, changed the wheel bearing(which was so bad and deteriorated I'm lucky the wheel didn't fall off) and now it is fine. The bad wheel bearing caused slack in how everything was sitting, causing the caliper to rub the rotor. It's all fixed now.

Well, just got back to the car today and the caliper is grinding into the rotor.... Put the tire back on and was able to move it the wrong way.... Pretty sure my wheel bearing is bad....

Hey guys. Been a while since I was on here but I have a question.

I'm trying to eliminate problems I'm having with my car. It has been raining bad for a week straight here so I haven't been able to look yet. My brakes need to be changed for sure.

On to the problem.... Today, I was driving and everything was fine except when trying to turn left. Left turns felt pretty difficult, but right turns are fine. I hear a little bit of metal noise, but the noise could be the brakes(which I planned on changing this weekend).

Any ideas on what is going on? I've never had an issue like this before.

QUOTE (TwistedCeli94 @ Jun 29, 2012 - 7:10 AM) *
Hey everyone, i am about to embark in the 3s swap after about 5 years of dreaming.! I am currently running a 20v silvertop right now and will be trying to sell it to help out with the 3s swap. This wont be able to happen for about a month but if anyone is looking for a complete set up, transmission, wiring harness, everything you need, let me know. Im not trying to get top dollar but just something to help me get this swap done faster. Shoot me a call/text (919) 4494516 or email me at bobbydelabio@hotmail.com. Might sell it for parts if no one is interested or maybe even keep it around just in case. Make me an offer im open to anything. I also have an extra m/t silvertop ecu for sale if anyone needs just that. Thanks guys.

I'm interested. Hit me up with a ballpark figure and mileage on the motor, whether it's been rebuilt, if so how long ago ect. I'm in NC right now and will be for at least the next couple of months.

Matt! Yes, youre going!

I am on those other forums but guarantee, for most of em, this will be too short of notice. And if I'm around for the end of summer one, Charlotte/Concord has sooooo much to do. I'll know tomorrow on whether the business I'm doing can be rescheduled or not.

Matt, hit me up, its about movie time....

And Dan, I know you probably won't see this, but really?!?! That's heart and dedication after what happened. Be safe.

Ok guys. I've searched, but it hasn't narrowed the culprits really... Now that that's out of the way.....

Noticed the noise this afternoon when I was about to leave the house. Sitting still, if I turn the steering wheel, it groans/creaks, only on the passenger side. Don't notice anything while driving. I lifted her up and turned the wheels by hand. Not much of a noise in the air, but still faint. I wiggled top to bottom, no play. In and out, no play. Side to side, a very minute hair of play. I spun the tire and it made a light rub noise.

I know I have probably original suspension(i get creaks over speed bumps). I replaced both axles in early 08. So here's my list. Help me cut down or give me some ideas...

-power steering system(not likely, sounds mechanical)
-ball joint
-tie rod
-bushings
-wheel bearing
-struts(saw it online as a possibility but highly doubt it)
-part of the axle(doubt because I replaced those not that long ago)
-part of the steering linkage

Thanks for all the brainstorming help in advance guys.... And btw, it makes the noise while the car is on AND off when turning the wheels

There's a few NC people around that I'm sure will be down. Just don't expect a huge turn out. Last time in NC I went, there were 5 of us 6gcers, 4 cars, one member in from Cali without her car. It was fun though. Dan's not too far out though, so if you get something planned ahead, you might be able to turn it into a lot of fun. Let it get more interest and look around the forums and hit people up to look at this thread.
If all else fails, drive to Winston by Baptist hospital. Guaranteed you'll see/meet at least a few 6gc owners. None that are on here though. Hit me up if this starts developing.
Theres 1 in Gboro I know of, 1 near Winston, 3 in Charlotte/Concord/Kanapolis, 2 in Raleigh, 1 in Durham, and a few others spread out across the state.

I've got one brand new in the box, still in plastics, with gaskets. Like Hector said, you"ll have to get the piping extended a little bit. PM me for details, or look up my for sale thread.

If you really wanna swap her, go with a 4a, made in usa and past 97. Or big boy it with a 3mfze 6cylinder swap. Those two would be the easiest to pass in cali legally.

Find an stx. Maxed out options on an st basically, good gas, reliable, and still the ability to mod. Nuff said. You have tangerine, you want gas and style, stx is the logical option.

Or get friends in the right places, and do what others in Cali have done before, plenty of times. Yet, its not recommended trying to go by the loopholes.

If you need any specific parts there is one of these in a local junkyard by me(in NC) that isn't too bad off. Just let me know if you want me to hunt for anything.... Good luck on her, I bet she'll be beautiful.
