I live in Bécancour, Québec, Canada, which is right between Montréal and Québec city. Every year since the last 5 or 6 years, I see that Celica

(Pic taken yesterday at Métro grocery store St. Grégoire)

This Celi comes from Florida, I just wonder if the owner of that car is a membre here. Never had a chance to see the driver...

For now, the forecast for saturday is 70% chances of rain.

If so, we will have the meet, but at some other place. Right where the yellow circle is, there's an underground parking. Please take note of the adress at the top left corner.

Anyway, I'll be with at the Berthier Mikes and I have the mobile phone number of JrUniks, so if we decide to go there, I'll call him to make sure he's not going to the Shrine.

Feel free to pm'd me for my mobile phone number, I think it could be useful, just in case.

To be truly honest, I'm not sure it's a 3S-FE. The driver told me the engine was a 2.0l taken in a 1991 Camry and I assumed it was, but all this wiki things put some doubt in my mind about the engine.

And in the same wiki page you can read this:

QUOTE (Wiki)
The Toyota 3S-FE is a 16 valve 2.0 L twin camshaft, single cam gear engine built by Toyota from 1986 to 2000. It is commonly used in the Toyota Camry 1987–1992 model

Hahaha, ok, maybe not Montréal, but if you guyz don't mind to make a stop at Berthierville, I could get there to make the last part with you smile.gif

It's CLEAR that we'll stop to Berthier, its a classic for me when I ride on the 40 EAST, so I can taste a sweet iced capuccino at Tim Horton's. You can count on me for beiing on the time we'll set to be at Berthier. So whenever you're up to, Grim, we could also meet for noon and have lunch at mike's or smthg similar! (or McDonald's for smaller budgets...)

Great idea! So... Somewhere around MTL-Berthier-3R.

Alright!! So lemme know when ou think you'll be there.

Last week-end we went to a local race track, an oval about 1 mile long and look what we've see there (sorry for the cell-phone quality pictures):

Becuz race regulations, engine hp must not exceed 120hp, so the engine is a 115hp 3S-FE taken in an old Camry 87 ~ 91.

The car qualified 1st and finished second in it's class, behind a Chevy Cavalier due to yellow flag situations frown.gif

I think I'm gonna go to Montréal just for the fun of making the ride with you biggrin.gif

Ok,

So the meet is satruday september 4th, and the spot I chose is the Notre-Dame du Cap shrine, with a superb view of south shore of Trois-Rivières and a direct access to the St-Laurence river. At 2pm is it ok for everybody? I think it's perfect, we will have plenty of time to spend togheter and after the meet we could go out to eat.

The adress is:
Sanctuaire Notre-Dame-du-Cap Shrine
626 Rue Notre Dame
Trois-Rivières, QC
G8T 4G9

Pay attention to the following indications please. The meet will take place behind the shrine, it's two streets farther than the shrine itself. It's a short street that leads to the back of the shrine and there's a little civic park there with pic-nic tables. It's the street right after the giant parking lot, aproximately where the yellow circle is. The street that leads to the back of the shrine is located where the red circle is. This srteet name is "Des Oblats"

After eating, we could have an ice cream at the Dairy Queen where local tuners gathers in the evening, around 8pm. The adress of the Dairy Queen is:
2650 BOUL. ROYALE
TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QC
G9A 4L5

Please confirm that it's ok for everybody and I'll try ton contact all the 6geners I know. See ya there smile.gif

I could be interested too, let us know about when and where but better chances during the week-end for me and my wife (HorseHead here)

For where, I suggest Trois-Rivières since jruniks is from Quebec city, and both of you guyz are from Montreal. I'm from Trois-Rivières so I could find an intersting spot wink.gif

I can also speek to Celica97 from Quebec city too about it.

In the case of a faulty temp sensor, the ecu will not light the check engine indicator (unless there's a cut wire).

If the temp sensor reads an inaccurate temperature, the ecu have no other way to know if it's accurate or not, it will assume that this is the exact temperature. The air/fuel ratio will be too rich (or too lean, depending on the situation) and the car will have rough idle and poor performance, depending of the situation again.

2 ways to check it, 1st, with a scan tool to see if the temp readings are close to the ambiant temp. You must have it checked cold (cuz your problem is about cold fast idle). With apropriate scan tool connected, start the engine and watch the readings to see if it's close to reality.

2nd, with a multimeter, check the ohms refering to a chart with the ohms/temp values of that particular brand/model.

Faulty temp sensors can have accurate readings in some temp range and inaccurate readings in other range, so you have to check it in it's full temp range, from very cold to fully hot.

I strongly suggest to have it checked by your local shop with a scan tool, it's much more accurate and it will cost you only a few bucks.

Hope you'll find your problem soon. Let us know, it might be helpfull for others.

It's 5 or 6mm 1.25 or 1.5 threads, with 10mm heads for the bolts. It's the exact same bolts as for the horns, so you can use one of these to get the same bolts.

You'll need to remove the lower mud shield to access the very outside bolts (plz forgive my english here!!), it's pretty tricky and you might have to pry the bumper cover to reach them from under the car.

Hope this will help.

Looks good zonz, but I don't like the "Lockwood" logo on it.

I got my kit from Cruizin' Central Autralia on ebay. I know teh indicator is in km/h but I also know that they can customize their kits (with flames for example or Toyota logo and so on), maybe they could add or replace teh km/h - mp/h scale.

Intalled:

Sorry I don't have any better pics or night time pics but I kept all the original bulbs so it's the Toyota greenish lights in night time.
