that engine isn't in yet...was going to start it very soon but due to the world money thingy atm i through i'd save that money for "just in case" Australia is one of the least affected countries so far but i'm in the constrution trade (a brickie's apprentice) and yeah I'll hold off till i can. Ah ok sweet, thanks about the raiser block info...i'm now a bit iffy on if i should get them cause i might not do 205 bonnet and bumper for a while if at all now and keep her sleeper-ish if u know what i mean.... Whiteline uprated sway bar may be on the card soon not sure....apartently whiteline stop making the front one so i really only want if ti both so it a balanced car. |

She now has Full st205 Brakes front and rear now...the fronts were old and seen better days so i took them off re painted them gave them EBC Red Stuff Ceramic Pads and EBC slotted rotors...... Thanks to Arron (lubu for selling me his st205 rear brakes and everything needed...it is a bolt on conversion just needing to piss the dust shield off and the 5.5mm spacers and done...Enjoy the PICS ![]() Giving them there last hint of hot 30 degree sun shine before they went on. ![]() ST204 rear on the left and ST205 rear on the right... a big difference in size and they all machined and cleaned up. ![]() The EBC slotted front rotors machined down to 300mm....and the ebc red stuff pad in my hand. ![]() front all back together and bolted up. ![]() the new rears are a get match to go with the st205 front and they all help in the braking too... ![]() ![]() It had been a while since i gave the celica some TLC and so this morning gave her a wash, quick clay buff in areas needed, polish and wax and tyre shine....she is awesome now. The Ceramic red stuff pads are awesome and just love the hard and fast braking....they do hate the soft traffic braking...they squeel something real bad. (aka cruising surfers and spit etc). The rears have leveled out the car a bit when braking which is awesome and so they're doing their job helping out the fronts too. This with ARD approved Road and Track braided brake lines this thing probably take on a evo or sti in braking....just awesome power and stops on a dime. Just need the suspension and power to go with them. :lolhit: Cheers people. COILOVERS that is.... ![]() BC coilovers type BR or something like that. they are awesome and use steel lower bits so they stronger than the normal ali ones ![]() The tops of them...front camber adjustable and the rear have a sloted upper bolt hole so they can adjust the camber of the rear too. ![]() A rear one installed. ![]() The end result much nicer looking closer to the ground. ![]() Another Angle ![]() The strut tops with camber adjustment with the perfect partner TRD strut brace. |

well when you say backwards what do you exactly mean cause i can't see how the engine will run at all...i mean how the cam gear bolts to it and then there should be a pin for hte cam gear to slot in to and yeah you just can't install them backwards....... also on the intake cam it can't to because the dizzy need to slot in to get the right timing and all that. maybe it was the wrong cams and they are really really tall in the lobs or yeah not torqued down right.......i've heard of cams snapping cause people not torquing down in the right sequence. i hope she all sorts out and you get her on the road man. |

stock 205 and 204 with stock 205 engine and that mr2 lsd perfect conditions means the fwd will launch pretty well and should easily pass the 205 by 1000foot mark..... swaped cars "or gt-twos" arn't that bad to launch in perfect conditions i have even held up good to modded evo 6's back in the day of my st162 swap on crap australian traffic light roads...... and yeah most stock awd cars high revs drop cluthc equals fry of the clutch or a bog down...... also moded both 205 is still not the clear winner....if u gonna go mod the 205 for suspension and launching and all that lots more power you get the same if not more at the wheels power from the 204 cause of the drive train loses (lack off compared to the 205) and the 204 would have some radial drag slicks and even maybe blot a wheel bar and or have some adjustable rear shocks or get springs and make the rear stiff as all buggery and yeah lots of variables but the fwd can get a lot of traction with mods just like modding a 205 and the 204 has the two of the three main factors for 1/4 wins....weight and power the gt-four onyl has traction and as long the 204 gets some of it it will win. but then there is another stage when the gt-four will own and that is in examples like Tuffys 600hp+ 205 for a 204 with 600hp to get the traction needed to beat that even with the weight advantage would take drag slicks and drag suspension set up and a half..... but back to stock for stock with drivers that have owned for a while and know how to get the best from there car...i'll still put my money on the 204 swap. |

WOW!!! so how much did that engine cost you, if you don't mind me asking... wellt eh bottom end was 5600 ish with the cam gears and all parts and everything i supplied the block (the ACL pistons are really custom sort of ones ACL use ROSS blank pistons and then machine them to your compression and all that stuff you/your engine builder wants. the head was a used item about 5000km on her with all cams, up rated springs and valve 3 angle grind and that with the 550cc injectors for 1200 from another celica person on the aussie celica forum and gets his engine and that particular head built and machined from the same place the bottom end did. the turbo was $1000 i gave them one stuffed group a st185 steel turbin wheel ct26 they gave one all rebuilt all new bearing and seals blanced, with a to4e 57trim compressor wheel and the turbin cliped (he said it was already a bit cliped) and i think he was right cause she is one laggy ct26 but flows some top end power... that engine made 202hp @ the front wheels with some ingintion brake down i think (running a bit wried), 2in FMIC cooler piping, 8-9psi, and the only 3in bit of the zorst is the ebay dump (aussie copy) and 3in stright through muffler the rest of the system was 2-2.5in press bent ohhh the flex pipe was a 3in item.... and it was leaking a little bit of boost near the throttle body....so yeah i think on 10-12psi all that **** fix 250 would have be realistic and then would have taken her to 20psi only thing holding it back was the turbo....about 20-23psi the turbo guy siad she "should" be good for and still in the good compressor islands and the 550cc injecotrs they would be maxed out at 350ish hp.... |

QUOTE(Mangozac @ Mar 26, 2008 - 3:05 AM) If you look carefully at the uni on top of the box and the one on the floor you will notice a subtle difference in the bottom piece. Everybodys' replies have been spot on. Oh another thing. I left all the adjustment knobs in the tops of the coilovers - they are really long so can't jump out or anything. They guy at Pedders said that some people freak out about a rattling noise but it's just the adjusters! yeah i thought they would make a bad rattle but they really don't my mates have d2's and a s2 s14 and evo 6 they handle good but yeah i want tein's (i found a place that will deliver with efdc and the motors all that for about 2000-2100 based on our AUD to YEN at the time. and i want green to go with the yellow..aussie aussie aussie...oi oi oi...lol |

That blue color is because of plastic film on it (every brand new piece has it and of course you should remove it) and yes you can buy it from Toyota. my bad i didn't get brand new and also i didn't see the bump that sperates the metal and plastic bits in the blue one thats all....also any idea on the TRD strut brace part number? |

Is there any part number or something on it? I mean every part has some special code or number to identify it self... thanks There probably is but I don't know what it is. I just ordered by application (i.e. street spec for ST204). During assembly the only parts I noticed with numbers were the springs. Got the alignment done today. I apparently had something on back to front but other than that no big issues. You know there is one thing confusing... in your picture are all coilovers ''the same'' (I means the same style) ![]() but every where are coilovers for front and for rear different in the picture ![]() or other brand ![]() so if I get it right I must be 100% sure it's for Celica 6gen w/o superstrut suspension nothing like using universal coils or coils for different models (7gen or something). cause most coil-over are on Japanese RWD cars like supra's skylines, 180sx (240sx for you guys in states, 300zx etc.... and that single bolt bit is for where that bolt to hub assembly for a rwd car with the drive shaft and that....it s simple effective design....celica's (FWD ones...not sure about 7th gens but all the st serise ones (4,5,6th gens) and probably other cars the rear hub assembly is much like the front with a almost mcferson strut set up....that is the reason why. |
