tranny??? transmission, is that our gearbox? Most of our cars are manuel 5 speed gearboxes which i think you guys call stick shift ???? we have drive shafts from wheels to gearbox. fly wheel is different to autos , which i believe you guys have, but the housing seems to be the same(?). was hoping i could change flywheels and mounts, then drop the lump onto it.??? |

sorry guys but im still a little confused. both cars are identical apart from the engine size and the fact the 2000 is an automatic. i see that i gotta change the fly wheel and drive shafts. im confident ican re-sit the mounts and anything along them lines. ican make my own stainless exhaust system, but am terrible with electrics,(whats a fuse?!!). is tranny driveshafts? in england a tranny is either a ford transit or a transvestite. obviously i cant get a van in the engine bay and we still have laws against putting people under our bonnets! |

hi guys, thanks for all your input. the reason im asking about the 2 litre is that i can pick up the complete engine and bits for £250 with 32,000 miles on it. my other alternative is to repair my existing engine. bear in mind the car is only worth a few grand. cornwall is cold and windy, recovering from the new year !!!!!!!!!! |

i have a 1.8 celica (96) with a smokey engine which i believe is the piston rings. but i have managed to find a low mileage engine for a good price but it is a 2.0. does anyone know if this swop will fit without major work?? thanx. |
