Anyone have any recommendations for the Lancaster/ Ephrata area? I'm looking for options for fixing my driver's door. I'm interested in buying a silver door, but if I can get mine fixed for less it'd be my choice. I don't know anyone around here so I'm hoping some of you are from around here and know a good body shop.

My door is rusting out and I'm gonna need a replacement. I knew about a small rust spot when I bought the car, but didn't get a chance to get it fixed. Now it's spreading like wildfire up my door.

Totally off subject, but I've noticed that there seems to be a lot of you all in PA. I've been in Lancaster for a couple years and I've seen a lot of 6gc's out there during my daily drive to Coatesville.

Where'd you get all these parts? I found a site to get everything except for the panel itself.

You know, I am curious about that second button too. I bought the celi off my dad a year or so ago and he said it never did anything for him. I thought it may be a trunk release, but as far as I know these cars didn't come with that option, right?

I bought a whole fuel door earlier in the year and removed the hinge for future installation since mine is broken. Only problem is...it's the future and I can't remember where I put the thing. So...I'm looking for another, if anyone has one. I have a 99GT (in case they're different).

I dunno. I'm pretty skeptical, but I read this..."Our rotors come with a 1 year warranty against any warping and a lifetime warranty against cracking of any kind. Simply send them back and we'll replace them for FREE."

Sounds interesting to me.

You'd need a wiring harness. That's about it. One thing about DVD players (if you haven't installed one in a car yet), the instructions say to connect a wire to your e-brake wire. This is so you can't watch movies unless your e-brake is pulled. It's illegal to have an in-dash player playing a movie while driving (this is what I was told back when I installed one). If you want to be a rebel and be able to watch movies while driving, simply ground that wire and you're all set.

You can get your harness here or here . Not sure which one you'll need. The second one looks like the one I had in my Tercel. I haven't changed my celi yet, so I'm not positive which it is.

Here's a DIN pocket.

Wow, this thread is kinda depressing. Reading it makes it seem like someone died or got dumped. laugh.gif It's cool though, I understand. But good luck on selling.

Hmmm...oil? I put it in my gas tank bc the guy at Advance Auto said it cleans the fuel system. My car actually runs a little better right now and I'm getting better mileage than before. He had me get something else for my oil system. Hmmm...

I'm looking for some aftermarket speakers to replace the front door speakers. I can't seem to find any 8" speakers anywhere. Everything I find is 6 1/2" and they all say that I'd have to mod the door to make them fit.

I'm having the same trouble. What's an IAC? I tried some "Sea Foam" in the gas tank and the problem went away for a week or so, but it's doing it again.

QUOTE(Bitter @ Mar 1, 2008 - 8:27 AM)

usually when that happens its actually that its gotten too much gas. during cranking the PCM commands the ISC (idle speed control motor) to a certain position. if the ISC is dirty, faulty, or sticking then it wont open to the correct position, the engine wont get the right amount of air, but since during cranking to start the PCM doesn't read any airflow (it reads it, but does not use it) it doesn't know that the ISC is sticking/dirty so its injecting the normal amount of fuel for a closed throttle start. when you open the throttle wide or even partially you're bringing that air back to lean it out enough to get the engine started and running.

Is there a way to clean this? I've been having this problem for a while now.

Still have the power antenna? Mine's a little bent and doesn't always go all the way up or down.

With the Galaxy 5000RS, it simply uses a relay (2-3 bucks) in the clutch circuit. It's a lot easier and a lot less work than adding these extra switches and so forth.

I'm going with the Scytek Galaxy 5000RS-2W-1FM for manuals.

That looks like a good deal...anyone with experience know anything about it? I've never heard of the brand.
