Update: the car is totaled and the insurance will scrap the car... I hope I'll get enough money to get something decent but im so sad leaving the celica after 5 years...

I might have some parts left in the garage that i will put in the selling forum
(my summer wheel set - 16" GTS wheels w/ Khumos, fog lights, extra set of 96 front bumper signals (clear), brake pads, etc.

Good bye everyone and thanks to all that helped me in the forums!

Happy new year!
Well this year starts quite bad for me cuz I had an accident yesterday - no one injured luckily but I think this is the end for my Celica... An old man did an illegal left turn on a 4 way street and got right in my way i had no chance I slammed right into his passenger side. I've never went 40 to 0 so fast... Im so pissed off right now ive worked so hard on this car too keep it mint and some blind old man screw everything.

Im gonna wait to see what the insurance company will do with it and check if I could part it out for you guys cuz beside the front everything is very nice...

I have a 5sfe and live 10 mins away from that place (JdmRacingMotors.com) and 2.5k$ sitting in my bank account.... how much more money would be needed to swap this (if MAF is included)? Is the swap pretty straightforward?

How about replacement parts (ie: gaskets and usual stuff) - is it hard to find or it share common parts with the 5sfe?

Thx

IMO Silver looks very nice already - gunmetal would not look really good with green or really dark colors cuz the rims wont stand out (but looks awesome on a white car!) ....

I might be interested in a few months for the complete kit - will it be still available? Until then I'll wait for the feedback of the lucky ones that will be testing this nice package...

Thanks alot for all the infos! Problem is, where I live (Montreal) the winters are very tough on cars - extremes colds, salt, snow, ice, rain, etc. The rotors are exposed to all this and considering that replacement parts (non dealer) are not as good as the originals that might explain the short life of these. I noticed threads on the front discs which indicates a problem cuz my pads are 40% left. Its the PBR MetalMaster pads - i heard they last long but they are hard on the discs... Anyways I bought 4 brembo replacement discs along with oem pads at NOPI for 130$ which is a bargain. Cheaper than have the discs resurfaced... I already had a stuck caliper on the rear so I might have them check this too...

Well the topic says it all. 2 1/2 years ago I changed all four discs (plain brembos) + pads and
the guy at the garage now tells me my pads are going away and that i should change the discs too
(some have been threaded). I havent done much mileage since 2 years - mostly city driving and I
usually drive smooth on the car.

Do you believe its normal wear? or maybe cheap parts or bad installation or the garage trying to rip me off?

Also, whats the best place to buy the brakes ? (I know nopionline.com sells the brembos cheap)

Thanks

I have them and really satisfied - not too low so the ride is not too bumpy handling is a little better than stock. Looks real good too and not expensive...

note: in my profile only the last picture (front) is with the Teins...
