that afr is about 13:1 at the highest point shown and 10.3 at the lowest so its a pretty big scale. those jumps in boost are only tenths of afr points.

im using a manual boost controller im going to build one for the megasquirt (gm solinoid) as changing weather causes me to hit my fuel cut some days.

this print out shows 197 hp 229 tq.

i did a ton of runs and some tuning max run was actually 198.5 hp 235 tq

this was on a mustang dyno which read low. and according to some this places mustang dyno reads extra low.

run was 2000-5500 rpm
12.8 psi
water/meth 50/50
megasquirt ( tuned myself)
ford edis ignition with msd coil/wires

water/meth droped IAT from 116F to 67F during the 1st run.

red = hp
blue = tq
green = boost
black = afr

Max Torque @ 3100 rpm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i checked the stock timing map on a 96 camry the other day. if you boost a 5s on the stock timing 10* base. you will be fine in the upper boost range over 10 psi but might be slightly advanced under low boost.

96 camry was ~~ 17-25 from 80-100kpa, 30-45 from 40-70kpa, 10-25 from 20-39kpa all depending on rpm too

this said some poeple recommend an msd btm. I belive in my opinion that the btm will pull too much timing when above 8-9 psi of boost. below that it should help, becuase the timing map would be much more advanced in that range.

Where did you get the coupling that has flexibilty in it? Looks to be the one attached to the hot side of your SMIC. I need 2 of those in red

SO is it nessecary to run the Ford ignition components?

no its not i could have used the VR sensors in the distributer but i think its more of a pain and not as good as just using the ford stuff. Also i could have not used the ford edis module and just had the megasquirt drive the coilpack but i feel the edis module is more durable and reliable than the VB921's on the megasquirt.

as far as my ignition map it is very conservative. ill have to get it off the other computer but i can tell you

at idle its 12, redline at 25kpa is 36
max boost at 1000 is 12 and redline 15
low boost at redline is around 19 or so

ill post the map up later i took someone elses and lowered some spot a little and it seems to be working well i think i can raise some of the <100kpa points
