I have a similar problem that may help you When I get to about 65 mph my car starts vibrating and the steering wheel shakes back and forth very badly.. well I replaced the outter tie rod ends and magically the vibration stopped alot, I can hit 70 with a little vibration, so I need to change out my inner tie rod ends and get an alignement, that should take care of the back and forth with the steering wheel as for the popping, sounds like axels might be bad. |

Awesome, I will be checking this out, I just read Hurleys 17 page turbo diary, awesome information I might add and I'm thinking, buying a used 7afe for practically nothing and rebuilding it for turbo setup will be best.. she ended up like 6300 total. I was thining more along 3k..how much did you end up putting into it? yes you can rebuild it first, then save up and add turbo later. yes i have done both and posted tons of pictures. |

Hey, thanks a ton guys for replying quickly and with great information, I am still scouring the forums for information. rebuilding the ST is an option and maybe quicker than transplanting and adding a turbo, just gotta weigh out the cost vs time. |

Finding a person where I live that can do this kinda work reliably is difficult and to be honest I didnt think it would be cost effective to turbo the 7afe. Have you done this? I am wanting to go as economical as possible with the upgrade and was seeing that the 4age was a direct drop in. I am open to many options here, I just want more power, lol This car wont die so I might as well revive her! why dont you just give your engine a re-fresh? pull engine, tear it down, machine the cylinder walls .020 over, get the oversized pistons, new rings, bearings, gaskets, and then turbo it. Trust me a Turbo 7A-FE is WAAYYY more fun than the 4A-GZE. |

I've been reading the feasible engine swaps and it looks like for my 94 ST that the 4AGE blacktop would be the best fit, though I am liking the 4AGZE I don't think its neccessary for me at this time. I guess my question is, has anyone done a successfull swap like this before into the ST? Any pitfalls they may had had? I found some ebay listings for some blacktop engines, but have heard that its not a good idea to go that route? And the stock tranny should bolt right up to mine? My car has right now 315k and its using oil alot more in between changes, I am fixing to have alittle bit of money from selling a truck and am weighing out my options. I love my celly but I want more power and it looks like I wont be getting rid of it anytime soon, so why not put more life into it. I was wondering though price wise, what would be a realistic price for a completed swap? Also, anyone know of a reputable dealer that I could get a good clip from? Thanks guys |

I had the same issue on a car a long time ago, ended up being one of the spark plugs had a fine crack in it...so recheck the plugs, make sure they are busted or cracked |

I am wanting to swap into the blacktop 20v but have tons of questions. I was wondering if anyone that has completed this swap could give me some insight into some problems that I may run into when doing the swap. anything that I would need to pay specific attention to when completing this swap. Also, I'm not a gear head so when buying this engine, what exactly will i need to purchase along with the engine to do the swap. Thanks for any information. |

haha, thanks, yeah I had coilovers on my talon and and kept the oem shocks and ended up with a terrible ride. Can I still create a good suspension system with buying coilovers and shocks/struts and possibly a camber kit? Also anyone know of a good place to get a full coilover kit? |

I want to do this right and would like some input if possible. I have a 94 1/2 ST and want to eventually redo the engine and what not but first I was going to redo the suspension and tire setup. I am looking for a good blend of qaulity and price, but arent we all. I am between on either getting a full coilover or purchase the Shocks/Struts and coilovers seperatly, as this maybe more cost effective. So, I found this full Coilover setup on Ebay for around 1000.00 and would like you input on how you think these are, and what maybe a good blend setup if I were to buy the suspension in peices and what I would need to buy, like camber kit etc. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-99-Celic...emZ260238939749 Thanks ya'll |
