i'd still like to see anyone who has proof of the s54 failing with the turbo motor. Breaking axles is one thing, but someone breaking the internals is another.

I had the same problem and this is how my 3rd gear looked. It wasn't terrible but the dog teeth were worn down enough for me to replace it. I also replaced the blocker ring along with it of course.

New 3rd gear...

how much did this all cost you and if that from the 5s tranny

I think i did an entire rebuild for 400 or something, includes bearings for input and output shaft, seals, syncro's 1-4 and 3rd gear

sounds fun, but making a fwd car into rwd just kinda messes with the whole suspension geometry

Looking to sell my 2nd gen 3s swap. I'm going to include motor, plug and play wiring(done by tweak), s54 trans, axles, mounts, etc. Timing belt, water pump, hoses from hell all done 25k miles ago. The s54 trans was rebuilt by myself. I replaced all four input and output shaft bearings, 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear blocker rings. I put a new ACT clutch, and a light weight flywheel about 8k ago. I'm planning to leave the motor in the car so you could come and test drive it. I might part out if the offers are good enough.

I'm asking for $2500 which is a fair price for what is all included.

Looking good!

thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

Thank you for the kind words guys, I'm beyond happy to be at this point after so many months of staring at motor in my garage thumbsup.gif

I'm unfortunately having issues with my clutch master cylinder, to the point where its almost impossible to shift into gear when cold. So I wont post an update until that's sorted out. It's the wierdest thing because the pedal feels like a sponge when the cylinder is cold, but once the engine heats it up the pedal is great and I can shift no problem cwm13.gif Tomorrow morning I'm gonna sit there with a hair dryer just to heat the cylinder up and see what happens.

These cheap aftermarket cylinders just aren't cutting it, and I'm sick of replacing the master only to have it crap out again in two days. I've tried EVERY bleeding technique known to man and they all lead to the same outcome. So today I bit the bullet and bought a new master and slave from Toyota. If that doesn't solve my problem then I'll also try to have an extended pushrod turned for the slave.

I had to go through so many master's through napa i just paid the 80 bucks to get a new one from yota

did you do a oem clutch master? I've replaced mine with a napa one and it went out twice in a year. I got smart and just got a oem toyota one. Make sure your positive that the clutch pedal is adjusted good and you bled the system out well.
