i was suspecting the same...

What should i do? They say that they are searching for the ring in salvage yards and other places because they say the ring comes right off the axle. I emailed the guy at Toyauto who i bought the speed sensor from and hopefully can get a reply. Even if the ring was on the original axle and they forgot to put it on the new one, how will i prove that it was really on the original axle?

how could there be no rings on the old axle? your abs light would have been on prior to having the axle swapped.
the rings can't be purchased individually...

Thats what I was thinking. The light would come on and off while driving before the axle was replaced but that was because of the broken sensor. I wonder if they are trying to cover up their mistake of forgetting to transfer the ring onto the new axle?

I had my right cv axle replaced a couple of weeks ago and when I went to pick the car up the ABS light turned on and stayed on. Les Schwab told me that the sensor was broken and would have to be replaced. I bought a sensor from Toyauto or something like that and installed it. Well the light went off when the car first starts but once i drive over 10mph the light comes back on. I took my car to Les Schwab to inspect the axle and discovered that the ABS ring was missing from the right axle but was on the left axle. Les Schwab says that the rings are taken off the old axles and put on the new axles. They also said that there was no ring on the old axle so thats why there was not one on the new axle.

"Toyota says they can only sell me the axle with the ring on it they cant sell just the ring and it will cost $500 for the axle" this is what the Les Schwab guy told me. So my question is: Where can I buy a replacement right ABS ring for my axle. Les schwab says that they will install it free of charge if I can get my hands on one. Is there a part number for it by any chance? It seems strange that toyota will only sell me the whole axle and not just the ring as they are supposed to just come on and off.

Thanks!

Well I came back from Les Schwab the other day after having my front right wheel bearing replaced. Anyway the guy told me that someone who had the car before me broke the ABS sensor and tried to fix it with some sort of epoxy or something like that I can't remember. Anyway this is the reason why my ABS light would come on and off. Well it seems like I need to find a replacement front right sensor. I cant afford to buy one from toyota direct because its way too expensive. I tried the local junkyards around here and none have any celicas so I am trying to find one on here.

Ok so i have a few questions about my car.

I have been tuning my car up to get better gas mileage and wondering if i need to do anything else. I replaced the plugs with NGK V-Power ones, wires, oxygen sensor, and fuel filter. I also changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter the other day. My question is if the o2 sensor before the cat is the only one i need to replace or should i replace the one after the cat as well?

Would resetting my computer also help with gas mileage? Also i have been putting injector cleaner in each of my full tanks of gas and I was just wondering which one is the best one to use?

Thanks!

Ya i bought it from a college student in washington from taiwan. He had to leave soon and get rid of the car so he said he would take $2000 for it with a clean title and nothing wrong with it so it was a good deal.

Hey so I finally found the celica I was looking for. Its a 95 GT Hatchback with all the options except leather seats. It has 142,000 miles on it and almost everything on it has been replaced by the dealership who the previous owner bought it from at 130,000 miles. I paid $2000 for it last weekend in Washington and drove it back home. I just put the rims and tires on it a couple of days ago.

The pics are on my profile.

I am also interested in the car as well, I live in Emmett, Idaho about 30 miles from Boise, Idaho. If i could get a good deal on shipping I would take it. Is everything else good on it such as brakes and tires? Message me if interested.

To be honest, you're gonna need to fork out a little more for a 6gc with the specs you want, especially low miles. I paid 8g for mine with 77k and all the factory goodies from a dealer, you're probably gonna need to spend 5-6 for yours. Good luck w/ the search hope to see you with one soon

Well I am getting a loan for $8000 so I can get one. I would like to be able to spend a little less on one but I will have $8000 for one.

Hey thanks for the information and yeah I appreciate that you are keeping an eye out for me smile.gif Yeah I am getting an $8,000 loan so I am either looking for one that has low miles that can be fixed up or i will spend more money with one that is already all fixed up. Again thanks!

Hi, my name is Aaron and I am new here and am looking to find a 1996-99 toyota celica Gt. I am really looking for a hatchback that has the sunroof and some add ons and I am looking for one that has ABS brakes on it as well. I am looking to spend about $3000-$3500 for this car. If the car has mods already done to it I will offer more money. I have about $6,000 I can invest in a car to get it all fixed up. The car needs to be in pretty good condition everything needs to be good on it such as the clutch, brakes, etc as I don't want a car where I will have to replace everything on it. I am in Idaho near Boise but I might be willing to drive to pick up a car that is not too far away or I could have it shipped to me. I am mainly looking for something that is near Idaho.

If anyone is interested or knows of something that is for sale please message me or email me with all the details of the car and any repairs/maintanence done on it. Again the 6th generation celica is my favorite generation it looks nice and I have always wanted one. smile.gif Thanks!
