If you work it out let me know I'm having the same freaking issue,I've spent the last 2 afternoons with my head in the engine bay. My SX was throwing a P1300 as well.
I replaced the dizzy and coil done the timing sounded better than it has in months pulled out to take it for a test drive and the engine died 50 m down the road so towed home twice in as many days.
Mine is an auto and just as it's going to change up it all goes to hell. It cranks every time but starts about every 10th time.
Smelt a strong fuel smell tonight so tomorrow I'll look at the fuel system.

Next day......
It has fuel and spark but still not going looks like it's off to the mechanics * swearing and stomping feet* My bet is the ECU

The only things the matter with my car is my friends all think it's a freakin Taxi.
It's to expensive to take with me if I move to the states.
There's two small chips in the windscreen.
The passenger door padding falls down everytime I leave the car locked up on a hot day, no matter how much upholstery spray glue I use mad.gif

Apart from that it's all good.

Well I paid $9500 AU on the road for my 95 sx with 140 xxxkm on the clock a few months ago from a dealership.

No rust, interior in good condition, motor is fantastic the old girl had it all fully serviced by toyota

They seem to hold there price here in Aus.

As an IT tech I'm going to say if you don't know what your doing or have a friend that knows what they are doing go buy a Dell they have sum great deals on 160gig HD 2mg RAM at the moment.

Then at least you have onsite service and a warranty friends suck when it comes to a warranty.
Hope you find what meets your needs biggrin.gif

PS you need at least 2gig RAM to operate vista reasonably well so don't grab the 1gig Package thing your going to save a lil cash if you decide to go the dell route.

Ok I'll shut up now

My 2 cents is look close at the engine oil cap for any milky residue cos you don't need water in your oil and when the car is up to running temp make sure it not blowing bubbles in the radiator that can mean head issues big or small you don't need em.
have fun celica shopping biggrin.gif

When the cars cold the steering moans when I turn right and u can feel it in the steering column almost like somethings rubbing but after about 10 mins of driving it doesn't happen anymore.

I've checked the power steering it all appears to be good.

I dunno if it'd make any difference that the car sat for 6 months without being driven before i bought it but it had a full service the day i picked it up. I've only had it a month.

Any ideas would be great.

Well I'd be forgetting ABS for now and just getting your breaks working. Even if the anti-break system should fail, the brake system will operate conventionally.

So says the mighty owners manual I only know because I'm looking at my own ABS and wondering why the light doesn't come on in the first 3seconds of the engine starting......

Hi TRD biggrin.gif

I'll post some interior pics after I redo it @ the moment it's got that foam break down thing happening on centre console and driverside armrest frown.gif vinyll wrinkles not pretty.

The last and original owner had some silly little dog she took everywhere with her and it left claw marks in the doors and window tint so it needs some love.

Well over here they don't crush your car you can either come up with big $ to get them out of impound or they send them to auction where you can then see some kid driving around your pride and joy.
Our cop cars are the V8 holdens and are either blue and white cruisers or Bright red things used for highway patrol and they stand out like dogs balls.

I had one pass me in the middle of nowhere he was doing at least 135km in a 100km zone ****s me cops can break the law at will.
