No. I'm out of town for work right now but I'll be home this weekend and will be able to work on it then.

I've heard certain additives like JB Oil Treatment and Liqui-Moly 2009 can help if it is a matter of sludge/lifter issues, but I'm always leery of those "miracle cures." I suppose at this point it's unlikely to make it any worse than it already is...

Hello to all the 6gen Celica owners!
Our numbers are dropping and unfortunately, my 99 GT has nearly joined the fallen.

So to describe what's going on:
Took the car off the road after it developed a nasty sounding rattle/knocking sound. Oil indicator was not on but it was low and the oil smelled burnt. I had lent the car to my now ex for a bit and didn't do my due diligence and confirm when the last oil change was done on it and used the sticker from the shop as guidance which was misleading. So it was about 5,000 since its last change and about a quart low. Entirely my fault and I beat myself up over it as I should. There's no excuse.

I had it towed home and now I'm trying to see if this is something that can be fixed or if I need to replace the engine. At idle it does not make the noise. Around 2000-2500 rpm the rattle begins and is present at higher rpm along with a "bucket of bolts" sound. When returned to idle, the noise ceases. After sitting at idle for 5 minutes the noise returns intermittently but is mostly absent. Asking around and searching the forums, I'm trying to figure out what it might be. A mechanic I talked to thinks it could be something with the lifters but doesn't have the time or space right now to look it over. Are there any steps I can take to try to fix this on my own?

Thank you for any help or guidance anyone has on this.

Does the Left side marker have the pigtail with it? If it's still available, I'm in need of one

What would be interesting would be our forum names up top with 6gc.net on the bottom. Would help with recognition and if anyone on the streets in a Celica saw, they could find you easier.

This.

Very interested in this thumbsup.gif . I'll be taking notes for when I get started on my own "GT-FAUX." Let me know how it goes getting the hood and bumper! Best of luck moving forward

You can get this from your local Toyota dealer. There are instructions and part numbers in the exterior forum stickies.

Just a heads up if you go this route, it mentions contacting Jeff Watson from Toyota World/ Champion Toyota. Unfortunately, Jeff has retired. I think the other guy the sticky mentions still works at Toyota Des Moines. Let me know if you have any success. I recently bought a 99 GT and I am toying around with the idea of turning it into a GT4

Power antenna failure is a common issue with these cars and I doubt if it's related at all. Is your keyless entry system the OEM Toyota system? Our Celicas did not come equipped with a keyless hatch entry.

It is the OEM system. I thought that the bottom button on the fob was for the hatch? Is it just a blank button that doesn't do anything?

Dan is right; our key fobs don't come with a keyless hatch release. The extra button is for programming the key fob to another car that has an RS3000/3200 alarm system; basically, one key fob is you have two Toyotas from the '96 - '01 model years.

Ahh I see. Well there goes that hope haha. Thanks for your help and input

Hey All,
I recently purchased another Celica and unlike my 94 ST, this 99 GT has remote locks (Thank God!). The fob works fine for the locks and it is the stock security system with the stock remote, however the aux button that usually is a power trunk release doesn't seem to work. The button is worn a bit so I assume the previous owner used it for something, but I don't notice it doing anything. The power antenna on this vehicle does not work either. Could this lead to the hatch not lifting? I vaguely remember reading something that said that the solenoid to pop the hatch could use the power from the antenna.

As a complete and utter novice to wiring and electrical tasks, I was wondering what I should be checking/fixing so that I can get the fob to open my hatch. Could it be something as simple as a fuse, or is it more involved?

Thanks for your help!

'95 coupe with 69,000 miles on it. Originally from Louisiana.

He is asking $900 but will take $700. All parts are there except the wind screen.

Do you have any idea if the guy is willing to part out that highly desired 2-post coupe spoiler?

Yes I am still looking for one but I forgot to add in my initial post I have a coupe and therefore need a spoiler for a coupe and not a hatchback. Is yours for a hatchback?

It seems as though no one has one?

Does anyone know the best way to buy one then, other than ebay?

Hey guys,
The time has come to put a spoiler on my '94 ST Coupe (not a hatchback).

The car is Red so I'm looking for either a Red spoiler or a black one (other colors are fine I will just get it painted) that is preferably used.

If you have what I'm looking for, please post or send me a PM with pictures and a total price (including shipping to 14464). I look forward to be in contact with you and making a deal.

Thanks a lot.

I do not need to sell the wheels and tires together, selling them separate is just the same to me as selling them together. The wheels are not bent at all.

please let me know what you'd let all 4 wheels go for. Send me a message, I feel bad cluttering your thread smile.gif
