Yeah, running it there causes it to get pinched...at least thats how it looks in the pic. As far as the cable being jacked, I dont think so, you just need to cut it, try to solder the wire and get a new connector. Yeah ive taken it out..just going to looking around till i find somewhere..cant even use the ac gromit as it goes directly through the shell ![]() |

right.. I cut a hole in the grommit.wire started going through and i was thinking result..then it stopped and no more wire would go in, took the glove box off and couldnt find the wire, took the undercasing off under the steering wheel and still coudlnt find the lead:(..where is it hiding?? So then i ended up putting it undernath bonnet towards the passenger door ![]() When disaster struck ![]() Tried to put the connecter back in.. ![]() Is that power lead now fuked? Also ive heard running the power lead like the way i have is dangerous? Any ideas? |

When you are facing the front of your car with the hood (bonnet, right?) up, on the right side of the firewall you will see a black rubber grommet with a wiring harness going through it. (I can see it in one of the photos you posted) Run your amp power cable through that grommet - you'll have to kind of wiggle it in there, but once you get it through it should pass through rather easily. Feed as much of it in there as you can without actually losing the end you're holding of course... and then go to the inside of your car and look around for the wire. On US cars, the wire would come through right below our steering column, but since your steering column is on the wrong side ![]() The pic i posted of the gromit was on the driver side..i took everything off underneath the steering wheel (forgot to get a pic) and i couldnt see the cable..il try tomorrow and deffo get some more pics..thanks for the tip though ![]() |

Dude, you realy just gotta figure it out. That's EXACALY what a shop is going to do, they'll just figure it out ![]() now if you want to deal with the hassle, then from your battary, you can follow some black lines into the fender, (remove the fender) and run them back into the cab. This is a massive PITA, but if you cant figure out anything else, it's pretty sure-fire. (it'll just take a while ![]() But i reccomend getting under that glove box, and reaching for that wire. It's where mine is wired thru. Right on the firewall, it's the best place to run it IMO. But IDK if you gotta drop the glove box or what, you'll have to figure that out on your own. Just remember where all your screws go. whats this firewall you talk about? and what is a fender? im such a noob:( |

![]() I didn't. I ran threw a hole in the driver side fire wall. Right next to the steering column. EDIT: oh nevermind, you're UK, you cab is mirrored. My fault. IDK if you'll have to remove it or not. You'll have to ask some UK guys. Thank you for your help so far ![]() |

A toggle switch, so that you maintain manuel control over you amp. And yeah, it all comes off pretty easy. Just drop that panel under you steering wheel. I believe its a total of 4 philips and 4 10mm bolts, and 2 "clips" that just click in and out of place. Easy easy. And the blue wire off of a head-unit is normally to a power antenna, witch will not give you the power to turn on your amp. Just FYI. thanks for the advice..il try that tonight ![]() Also to get the power cable from my battery to my "trunk" im going to have to remove the glove box right? |

the boot is what us americans call the trunk of the car. I thought that there was something in the stickies about an amp install but I couldn't really find anything. I think most people run it through the firewall by either drilling a hole then using a grommet or just running it through the big bundle of wires going through there anyways. then they will run the power on one side of the car under the door sills and the output cables on the opposite side to avoid interference. You could always just pull up the carpet and run it that way as well. Here's a link to the sticky on how to relocate the battery to the trunk/boot you could follow as well. I could do this but I still wouldnt know how to get the remote wire to my trunk? |

Wow, a 4 gauge remote wire would be insane! SO you pretty much need to run your power (4gauge wire) from the battery to the correct terminal, and the same with the remote (ACC) wire? But dont know how to do it, or where to run it? What do you mean by boot? Thats correct about the wires. I dont know how to run them through the car..does anyone have a guide i could use? Boot = The thing ppl put their subwoofers/amp/shopping in. Usually located at the rear of the car ![]() |
